Naruto SCP 106 - "The Old Man"

#1
Everything seemed to go wrong from the minute he woke up but the situation Naruto found himself in, he decided nothing could top that.

It all started when team 7 was paired up with team 8. Not only did he have to deal with SakuraÆs attempts at wooing Sasuke when she wasnÆt training, now he had to deal with InoÆs bitchiness but he could tune them out. Their C-rank they were assigned was simple enough, guard a few archeologists while they dig through some ruins but his plan didnÆt really work when his sharp hearing kept on focusing on the bickering between his crush and her rival but listening to their bickering was preferable to the horrors his eyes currently laid upon.

The archeologists were dead, two whose bodies were literally ripped open while the other three seemed to have disappeared in a pool of blackness. His teammates, Ino and Sakura, had suffered the same fate and he wasnÆt sure if they were alive or not. Chouji had his guts ripped out and as he stared at the black, skeletal figure standing in front of him, his hand gripped on his neck, he had a feeling he was next and yet, as he stared into the black eyes of his assailant, he wondered why he wasnÆt.

He could feel the cold breath flow across his face as the being stared at him. He could almost see almost slight movement of eyes, almost like he was looking him over. Suddenly, his grip on his neck tightened and was pulled closer. This was it, he thought, he would meet his end.

ôSixàeightàtwoàö

He only had a secondÆs confusion before he was promptely dropped onto his butt and saw the figure turn around, ignoring the unconscious Kakashi before he headed for a wall where a large pool of blackness appeared and he stepped in. However, to his utter and pleasant surprise, after he went in, the two female teammates that were previously absorbed shot out and landed on the ground. Instinting kicking in, he pushed his terror aside and rushed up to them, noting the paleness of their skin, like they been in the cold for a long time, and tried to help them but even as he wrapped his jacket and a blanket he found nearby around them, the creatureÆs last words came back to him and he couldnÆt help but think of something very familiar about those three numbers.

--------

This is my attempt in helping me figure out in writing a Naruto/SCP crossover. As you can imagine, Naruto has SCP-682 sealed in him and 106 recognized him, deciding to get on his good side, released his prisoners and left. I know it's a shoddy attempt but I needed to start somewhere.

Interesting concept.

I think you mean Team 10, not Team 8.

I rather wonder how well Ino and Sakura will recover from this - also, whether the Old Man told them why they were being released.

...Hard-to-Destroy Reptile?

Hm...makes me wonder...does Naruto actually CONTAIN 682, or does the kyuubi just make him enough like it that he isn't worth trying to kill?

Edit: Whoops, missed that authors note at the bottom there.

WTF. I wanted to look at this scp thing, I found <a href='http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-682' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>that</a>, and I just felt like I was a dumbass. I understood NOTHING.

No worries. 682 was actually the first scp I looked at and I didn't understand it either but after reading through the pages and understanding what specific terms meant. I began to understand and enjoy it. Just start from the beginning and read through and you'll find the SCPs that just make you laugh so much, especially if you understand the universe and the characters that are in it.

I might have expected 953, but not 682, and so many cool possibilities with an SCP/Naruto crossover.

Maybe Guren's abilities find their base in SCP-409?

Yeah, 953 I would buy, 682 I definitely wouldn't.

Well, one is an unstoppable sentient machine of destruction that heals from every damage attempt and is kept in a case of acid, and the other is just a normal korean version of a fox girl. I don't think the later would be justified to lock inside a kid, even as an scp it was just in a cell being conditioned for better behavior.

Yes, but 953's illusion powers could have given the illusion of distruction and perception control would have left the ninja killing each other...

Plus, it would have been kinda funny if the whole rampage was because they called her a Kitsune or a Yoko instead of a Kumiho

I'm more worried about Naruto, honestly. 682 always adapts and breaks through containment procedures. Always.

In the SCP-verse, they're just glad they've always managed to re-establish containment up until now.

That's only because it can regenerate from pretty much any damage and is incredibly strong, it probably has no way to escape the supernatural containment that is the seal.

That is a problem the brains of the SCP have, and it is sorta mentioned in one of 953's files, is that, for the most part, they keep to science instead of trying things beyond science's understanding (As I remember, a Korean born agent suggested something from folklore involving fish hooks and dogs to contain 953, as opposed to chaining it up, which pisses it off).

Ninja and others in the Elemental Countries, who have mysticism as well as science (And in some cases, both working in tandem), may actually have a better time dealing with some subjects, whether containing, controlling or even destroying them.

After Action Report

Mission Rank û C

Mission û Escort and protection detail for archeologists

Assigned û Team 7 (Hatake Kakashi, Uzumaki Naruto, Haruno Sakura, Uchiha Sasuke).á Team 10 (Sarutobi Asuma, Nara Shikamaru, Yamanaka Ino, Akamichi Chouji)

Result û Failure

Summary û Shortly after an uneventful trip to the dig site, the site was assaulted by an unknown entity.á Reports from surviving members describe him as a skeletal figure that radiates an aura that produces a æcrippling fearÆ that incapacitated the genin into not defending themselves. In addition, the entity is capable to creating æblack poolsÆ that the entity used to pull two of the clients as well as two Shinobi into. Because of the aura, minimal resistance was met when the entity then assaulted the other shinobi, producing one casualty and sending the rest into near fatal conditions.
However, when he aimed for Uzumaki Naruto, it was reported hesitation from the entity.á Debriefing has uncovered that the entity seemed to recognize him and called him æ682Æ.á Considering UzumakiÆs current status as a host to the Kyuubi, it is theorized that the entity recognized the being and spared him.á It is also theorized that it is the reason why he seemed to release his æprisonersÆ, genin Haruno Sakura and Yamanaka Ino, although the experience left them mentally disturbed.á Subsequent debriefing (attached transcript) has determined that the entity seems to æstoreÆ his victims in a dark place where perception is skewed and no sense of time is apparent.

Full recovery is expected but will be bound to village missions until it is determined they have fully recovered.

With the threat that this entity represents, a Flee on Sight order has been declared for all Shinobi B-rank and below.á At least one member must report to the village for immediately deployment of ANBU for termination.á It has been suggested a beacon system be set up somehow to alert the village of a sighting for a more rapid response.

All team members are expected to fully recover and return to active duty.á It has yet to be determined whether or not the missing member in Team 10 will be replaced or have them function as a two-man unit.á However, the more pressing concern is Uzumaki Naruto.á At the HokageÆs request, Yamanaka Jiro discreetly monitored Uzuamki Naruto and reported intense thinking of the numbers æ682Æ.á Jiro reports Naruto feeling like he knows what it is and what it means but he canÆt quite figure out what. It is possible that Kyuubi was once known as æ682Æ and this might lead Naruto to actually meeting the fox.á What will come of this, we do not know, but recommending the containment team be put on standby in case it happens and it gets out of hand.

Something I wanted to get out of my head. I got ideas running and I'm trying to get things straightened out in a decent order. I want to see if I can do something with 050 next.

WHich SCP's would you like to see if I do write a story? I got some ideas but am interested in what other people like.

Poor Chouji.

For those of us who know nothing of SCP and aren't interested in diving into yet another Wiki (TvTropes already ruined my life), will you explain a little bit about what's happening? I do not mean to write an essay on what the Wiki contains; I mean, will your story be giving us enough of the pertinent details to get the gist of what's going on?

Well, some might be utterly useless or complete backfires. 50-AE-J would probably attack absolutely anyone, even the user. SCP-1004 would probably end up in a more primitive form like a VHS tape, and probably be the death of Jiraiya

SCP-1003, while disturbing, seems like the kind of thing that could exist in the ninja world, maybe have evolved into some twisted bloodline or have a link to the Reibi.

SCP-949 Could pop up as some odd trap or something, maybe seen as a mirage in the desert.

Like I said, SCP-409 could be some artifact of Guren's bloodline that they have somehow contained and mimicked or gained control of.

Likewise, SCP-017 could be some dark secret of the Nara clan, or possibly SCP-272.

SCP-936 seems like it could be the basis of the Zetsu clones, or a wet dream for a scientist like Orochimaru, given to be an endless supply of bodies he could possibly manipulate into perfect, mess-free vessels. SCP-061 seems like something the Sound village might use too, but may possibly be fought off like a genjutsu.

SCP-053 seems like it could be something wandering around like 196, causing trouble, but if she recognized 682 in Naruto, it could make things interesting.

That's all I got for now, but I will say it would be funny as hell to see Naruto cut Zabuza's sword in half with SCP-063

Well, quick and dirty explanation, have you ever seen Warehouse 13? It's kinda like that, only the "Artifacts" are more often sentient, mobile, and hostile

Thanks, although I had already figured that much. I'm also aware that there's a loose relationship with Slenderverse, which I do not know much about. I'm pretty sure both Slenderverse and SCP fall under the heading of "creepypasta," but again, I don't know a whole lot. I do know enough to know that according to lore, it's probably good that I don't know very much and I should probably keep it that way.

My question specifically, what should I know about SCP-682 aside from what's posted? Is it enough just to know that 682 is an engine of destruction, nigh impossible to contain, but not very mystical in nature? (Nor a fox, apparently?) That's what I've gathered from this thread at least...

Well, considering it's lack of origin, and it's ability to eventually survive any other attempt to destroy it with other SCP things, it may be some sort of mystical.

I'm just waiting for them to find out that Sakura and Ino were released not to appease Naruto, but so he could use them as his targets in a game of "protect the VIP" with Naruto...

It has been implied that 682 isn't a part of this world or at least, obeying the same laws of nature as everybody else. In trying to kill him, they discover that this hatred doesn't extend toward other SCP's. For instance, when they brought in <a href='http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-053' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>SCP-053</a>, he didn't react at all to her, ignoring her and even allowing her to draw with crayons on his forehead. That tells me that he's aware of other people with similar abilities and holds no grudge against them, just humanity

However, when they tried to pit <a href='http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-173' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>173</a> against him, he knew exactly who he was facing against and kept his eyes trained on the thing, not once blinking for 6 straight hours. It took two snipers with high powered rifles to shot out his eyes and the lights turned off for 173 to attack. Once he started regenerating, he grew eyes that hard armored carapaces so that nobody should shoot them out. THe adaptations do go away after a certain amount of time.

THe only reason why they haven't nuked the bastard is because they were worried that if he armored up against a nuke a got free, the world is basically fucked.

Just thought of another SCP Orochimaru would probably love to study.

<a href='http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-963' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>SCP-963</a>

The chance for a whole new form of immortality? Or maybe this object was, in a way, the basis of Orochimaru's jutsu.

What about some of the other groups? Maybe there's some descendant group of maybe the GOC still around.

Marshall Carter & Dark I can definitely see having a presence along with remnants of the Foundation including Dr. Bright and 963 as well as agents and regents of the Warehouse.

Dr. Wondertainment and his Misters I can see wondering around, especially <a href='http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-920' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>SCP-920 aka "Mr. Lost"</a>

What Warehouse?

And I could see a number of Groups of Interest still being around, the mysterious <a href='http://www.scp-wiki.net/groups-of-interest#toc5' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Factory</a>, <a href='http://www.scp-wiki.net/groups-of-interest#toc3' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>The Church of the Broken God</a> (Which would probably set Hidan on edge, or piss him off)...

Or maybe there's just <a href='http://www.scp-wiki.net/groups-of-interest#toc12' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Nobody...</a>

Sakura woke up with a start and a scream, her face plastered with sweat as her hair clung to it. Her breaths came in ragged as her mind remembered the grinning, almost laughing, face of the old man that had taken her prisoner not a couple weeks ago. She had no idea why she was suddenly and unexpectedly released, both her and Ino dropped down from the floor and out from the wall. She was at least thankful that Naruto was there to comfort them as the experience left them mentally drained.

Her body stopped shaking as she regained control of her faculties, letting her hands move her hair out of the way. She was at least thankful that she was on leave as she knew that she wouldnÆt be able to really function as she needed. A deep sigh left her lips as she shook her head, tyring to clear her thoughts. She would sometimes see that face whenever she closed her eyes, seeing that grinning, bony face staring at her and she was sure her friend was in the same position. A low moan left her lips as she shook her head again, deciding that she wasnÆt going to get back to sleep anytime soon, she got up and got ready for the day. She wanted to pay a visit to Ino to see how she was doing dealing with this and dealing with the loss of a teammate.

However, fate seemed to have decided otherwise as Sakura went to her door to head downstairs for breakfast, a pool of blackness, the same one that the Old Man sucked her into, quickly appeared on her door and a hand shot out and grabbed her neck, pulling her into the pool and back into the vast nothingness that was the Old ManÆs realm.

OoOoOoO

æOh god, no no no no no, not this again. Anything but thisàÆ

As she had quickly learned in her brief tenure of this place, Sakura quickly realized that her vision was distorted and her footsteps sounded like she was walking on gravel. She found herself in a room with multiple exits but if they were the same doors from last time, all they did was lead her back here but something was wrong. One of the doorways was light and insideàa gasp left SakuraÆs lips as she saw the prone form of her friend/rival. Her fear temporarly forgotten, she rushed toward her fallen friend. She was still alive and judging by the sleeping clothes, he must have grabbed her while she was sleeping or after she had gotten up. She froze, her senses picking up another presence near her. Her ears confirmed the sound of breathing and tried to pinpoint it as this place screwed with her senses so she wasnÆt sure if this presence was real or not. However, when she heard the sound of a deep, dark laughter, she turned around, a kunai almost flying to her hand, coming face to face with her kidnapper.

But he didnÆt do anything. Instead he seemed to be content with staring at them while she hovered protectively over the blonde. She didnÆt understand why he was so interested in them, why he keeps on tormenting them.

ôYou seem to have the boyÆs affections.ö The completely unexpected question left the girl gaping at the figure in shock, wondering why he brought up Naruto of all things. ôWhy do you insist on hurting the boy knowing what he contains?ö

ôWhat are you talking about? Contains what?ö

The Old Man tilted his head like he was confused but then started laughing, the dark laugh echoing through the hallway. The sound starlted Ino awake and before Sakura could talk to her, she saw confusion on her face before panic started to set in as she recoginized her surroundings and the entity laughing in front of them. ôSakura, whatÆs going on? Why are we back here?ö She whispered to her friend, her hand keeping an almost vice-like grip on her friendÆs arm. ôWhy is he laughing at us?ö

ôBecause he apparently knows something we donÆt.ö She whispered back. ôSomething about Naruto.ö

ôNaruto?ö

ôYesàNaruto.ö With the old man answering her question, she eeped and moved back against the wall. ôThe boy that you regular punch contains one of the most desctructive and human-hating beings I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.ö

ôHuman hating? What are you talking about?ö

ôDoes this have something to do with this æ682Æ? Naruto said you had called him that.ö

ôIndeed. SCP-682 was the name the Foundation gave to him when they contained him so long ago, before he escaped and adapted to the form that he now holds.ö

ôSo waitàare you saying that Naruto is this 682?ö

ôNo I donÆt think so Ino. He said æcontainedÆ like he was keeping him prisoner.ö

ôBut I donÆt understand, if this thing had such a hatred for humanity, why hasnÆt he done anything to Konoha. I mean, itÆs not like this 682 is Kyuubi or something.ö

With the seemingly innocent comment from Ino, the two girls began to realize the truth, even more so when they turned to the entity. ôAnd here I thought the pinky would figure it out.ö

ôNaruto holds the Kyuubi?ö

ôWell it certainly explains the whiskers.ö

ôWell why the fuck should we believe him?! He killed my teammate Sakura, ripped him open. They didnÆt even get a chance to recover his body.ö With the two girls focused on each other, they missed the dark chuckle from the old man. ôSo tell me why the fuck should Iàö However, before Ino could continue her tirade, the old man shot his hands forward and grabbed both their necks and lifted them off the ground.

ôWhile I respect 682Æs hatred for humanity, the last time he went berserk, he killed off just about everybody I could eat so I rather not see that happen again.ö The girls screamed as he dropped them onto their butts. ôThis is where you two come in. You will ensure that this does not happen, keep him happy so he can keep his control over him.ö

ôAnd how exactly do you expect us to do that?ö

ôWell I hear humans are quite fond of something called sex.ö A hue almost similar to SakuraÆs pink hair graced the faces of the two girls. ôI donÆt care what you do but if he gets out again, all my food dies and I rather that not happen.ö

Before any of them could even respond to that, they found themselves falling through the floor in another pool of blackness and ending up being thrown out of a wall, landing with a thud, the blackness shrinking to leave only a blackened crack in the wall of the Yamanaka bedroom.

I'm a little under the weather so this may not be as good as I want but I think it's good enough for now.
