Fusion of the Anime through ep. 25 and the manga through the end of vol 9

Synopsis:

Tsuruko Aoyama has a problem. Her husband has been unable to provide her
with a child. Fortunately for her, she's found a solution to this problem.

Amalla Su has a problem. She's married to a man who's too focused on the battlefield
and not on providing the needed heir for the Kingdom of Molmol. Fortunately for her,
she's found a solution to this problem.

Keitaro Urashima has a problem. He's about to receive some guests who think he's the solution to all of their problems.

~~~~~~~~
Prologue
~~~~~~~~

Life is a Grand Cosmic Irony. Few people realize this of course, since they tend to be the direct victims
of said irony and have no time to reflect on how they got there in the first place.

However Tsuruko Aoyama was one of those dubiously lucky few. She had first realized this startling truth
several years ago. To be quite precise, on her wedding night. Or rather what was supposed to have been
one. Her new spouse was handsome, kind, intelligent and loving. Perfect in almost every way. Except one.

Naturally upon discovering this little shortcoming she'd reacted in a perfectly sensible and mature fashion.

Fortunately for him, she used the back of the blade when she blasted him through the roof.

Even though she eventually forgave him, the damage had been done. Under other circumstances an anullment
or divorce would not have been out of the question. Unfortunately for them both, family politics made any
option along those lines unfeasible. With various internal factions striving for control over the family's
extensive holdings and heritage, the only way to keep the vultures and jackals at bay was to present
a solid and united front towards them.

Which of course had finally led Tsuruko into this predicament.

She had been married for three years now after all, and tongues were starting to wag freely about
the fact that their union had not produced a child in all that time.

<Been very busy lately, still trying to get *something* finished for actual posting. Actually had this idea for awhile, long before the Tsuruko cliche fics became the fad. -Shade>

Older sister plague!

Poor Keitaro, this is going to be interesting.

I have always wondered if you planned on tackling the issue of why they are willing to expend all that time and effort, when more expedient methods exist, such as in-vitro/artificial insemination etc. Of course, that would put a damper in any plot, but still, there has to be something driving that enthusiasm... :p

Maybe it's the thrill of the hunt? The satisfaction the cat gets from playing with its prey before feeding....

Regardless, be sure to update soon. :sisi:

Okay... let me see if I get it. Tsuruko either got a husband who can't 'do it', or some other bad thing (by the way... that sounded really harsh from her), and Amalla just got a husband who's never there.

And now they think Keitaro is the solution to their problems.

...will the others try to cash in, too?

Family Politics.

Same reason why Japan's royal family had such a hard time filling the line of succession. Sure, they could have gone that scientific route, but they'd have lost a lot of face with the public. It simply isn't acceptable to the more tradition minded.

And when one is trying to hold together the family, the last thing you want is to give the naysayers more ammo. Hence the need to do it the old fashioned way....and not get caught.

This obviously should be a lemon in the Hardcore lemon forum.

Obviously.

Sounds promising. Tsuruko and Amalla looking for some loving by our Keitaro? Could be fun.

But I'll wait to read more to see where this story is heading.

That'd be nice, yeah. The world needs more lemons. Perverts of the world, unite!

Though I am somewhat torn over it, as it'd also be nice to see a version of this where sex doesn't even come into play.

Perhaps he'd masturbate into a condom for them or something, just for them to get their hands on some semen. A story focusing more on the girls woes over not getting preggers to the point that they have to look up outside help, as well as Keitaro debating wheather or not to become a father to children he won't even be raising and who'll not be told who their real father is.

Perhaps we could get two versions of this fic-idea, a smutty version and a non-smutty one?

Yes, this fic needs to be continued.

Maybe in two directionsm, with a smutty option being more light-hearted and a non-smutty option with the introspection and drama that would allow you to flex your artist muscle :p

I sort of had an idea about something similar to this, though not quite the same as the above fic preview.

My idea was that, during the arc where Motoko and Keitaro have to fight Tsuruko to get Motoko back into Shinmei Ryu, the fight goes horribly wrong. Keitaro, either extremely desperate to help Motoko or (more likely) possessed by the Hina blade, stabs Tsuruko.

Getting her to the hospital, she eventually recovers fully, but her womb was damaged to the point where she's barren. This eventually becomes a point of divorce between her and her husband.

Although she can't formally hold Keitaro responsible (due to possession and/or the fact that it was a formal fight), she instead demands that he, and Motoko, give her back what they cost her: Keitaro will marry her (Tsuruko that is; and there won't be any sex in it for Keitaro in the forseeable future), and then Tsuruko's eggs will be harvested, fertilized by Keitaro's sperm, and Motoko will carry them as a surrogate mother.

How's THAT for a Keitaro/Tsuruko pairing? :p

Dark, but very, very interesting.

The level of angst Keitaro and Motoko would feel would be extreme, though. Worse than Marvel.

I agree - it sounds extremely hard to pull off successfully, but it may well be very rewarding if executed properly.

Though a few points I would like to clarify:
Getting her to the hospital, she eventually recovers fully, but her womb was damaged to the point where she's barren. This eventually becomes a point of divorce between her and her husband.
Why does the fertilisation of her eggs have to be done by Keitaro and not by her husband? Seems this could have saved their marriage...unless her husband simply wanted out for some reason and pounced on the first excuse he could chance upon.

Or maybe I should shut up before I ruin more potential stories from being written... -_-

And adultery is acceptable according to tradition? Seems the backlash if such a thing is ever made public will be even greater....but then, I am a complete stranger to politics, so maybe I am missing something.... -_-

Still, looks to be a fun read if the author can successfully pull this one off. Look forward to seeing the final draft up, hopefully asap. :)

That's assuming Tsuruko's husband even knew about it before he divorced her. Surrogate motherhood isn't a quick or easy process, even in the initial stages; to say nothing of the fact that Tsuruko's reproductive system is already damaged, making it more tricky. And there's nothing that says anyone will immediately stumble upon that idea anyway.

Once her husband is gone, he stays gone. Tsuruko then realizes she could still have a baby, so calls on Keitaro and Motoko to replace the husband and (chance for a) child that she lost.

Its only considered adultery if you get caught.

All's fair in love and war, provided nobody can prove you did it in the first place.

naaah... it's working as it is... keep it up! :yay:

Tsuruko: her husband is the perfect husband, except he cant perform certain duties... and since she's seen the Urashima stamina in action (the duel, all her visits with Keitaro racking on flyer miles, his happy go lucky attitude), why not, at the very least she'd get what she wants... and maybe Keitaro gets a little more manly, that is if the Hina girls dont hunt him down (or Tsuruko for claiming his purity :snigger: )

Amalla: since Ramba's too busy, and Keitaro does look like Ramba (without a tan), why not, sure the Hina girls will be all "what is she up to NOW?" and when they do, they will probably think he's done something perverted to her to make her chase after him.... :snigger:

hail chaos!

Or maybe they'd think that Amalla is trying to completely corrupt him. Remember, she's Kaolla's older sister, and Kaolla is considered weird even by Hinatasou standards... methinks they'd be more than a bit leery of a sexy foreigner with very little clothing on that's suddenly all over a guy who, by Su's own admission, looks a lot like her brother who Amalla is in love with. <_< -_-

I bring you a little more...

Quiet whispers at first, but growing increasingly louder of late.
Never directly within range of Tsuruko's keen hearing of course.
The opposition was greedy and stupid, not suicidal.

But something had to be done about it, and soon.

While they had managed to keep her spouse's 'little problem' a secret, the fact remained that without
a direct heir from her loins the line of succession for the God's Cry School and the responsibilities
that came with it would continue to rest on the shoulders of her volatile younger sister Motoko.

Tsuruko needed no crystal ball to forsee that that path would end badly. Motoko was too open, her inner depths as
clear and easy to read as a pure mountain spring. As well drop a helpless chick down a hungry snake's gullet as let
such a straightforward innocent like her sister into reach of the waiting fangs of the 'progressives' who wanted to sell
off what generations of Aoyamas had defended with blood, sweat and pain. They would twist her around their fingers,
binding her honor with cleverly sharpened words before stripping it all away and leaving nothing but a hollow shell behind.

No, while Motoko might yet fulfill her potential to become one of the best swordmistresses their school had seen in generations,
she was ill-suited for the task of leading the entire Clan. But unless Tsuruko bore a child before Motoko's 20th birthday,
the line would be passed on to her sister once she was legally recognized as an adult. And while Tsuruko could try to contest that claim,
she knew with a grim certainty that the end result would be a power struggle that could end up splitting the family into various weakened
factions to the detriment of them all.

And perhaps more importantly to herself at least, Tsuruko desperately wanted a child of her own to nurture and cherish.
Her chest ached whenever she saw a baby these days.

~This is oddly going in a more serious direction then originally intended.....maybe I'll stick more of the humor in Amalla's start.

Nice, but the wording seems a little awkward in places. You might want to revise it a little.

Also, it would be interesting if part of the reason Tsuruko chose Keitaro was due to his invulnerability, sorta to create a powerful offspring to ensure the survival of the clan. Her innate martial prowess combined with his fortitude. Pray that his clumsiness is not heriditary though...

And miracle of miracles, Completion of the first Prologue!

~~

And perhaps more importantly to herself at least, Tsuruko desperately wanted a child of her own to nurture and cherish.
Her chest ached whenever she saw a baby these days. Her keen mind's eye found it all too easy to substitute a feature here
and there to show her what might have been had Fate not played such a cruel jest with her marriage.

'And now we come to the cusp of the matter,' she reflected bitterly.

She knew that there were modern means of artificial conception, but such would not help her situation.
While rich in lands and prestige the Aoyamas had never been wealthy as Westerners counted such things.
And the few discrete inquiries she'd made in that direction had merely confirmed what she'd already suspected.
There was no way to use such a clinic and not get caught. They required identification, medical records
and payments too large to make without liquidating assets that would draw unwanted attention. Her best efforts
might keep it secret for a few weeks at best, but any determined investigation would collapse that house of cards
sooner or later. And the Opposition was very determined to find something to bring her side of the family down in disgrace.

'If only....'

If only her younger sister could have been a little more wiser and trustworthy.
If only Motoko's relationship with Urashima had been real instead of a lie.
If only her husband had not kept the truth from her before they had wed.
If only she had met Urashima before....!?

Tsuruko's train of thought derailed as she suddenly realized the unexpected direction
those same thoughts had trailed off towards and the first faint glimmers of a truly
outrageous plan began to form.

'Their eyes are similar in shade, almost the same hair color...'

It could work. More importantly, it had to work for the all of their sakes.
Even if her own sister might think of this as yet another betrayal, she had to try.

'Forgive me, Motoko. But I will do what I must, even at the cost of your love,
for the sake of those who came before us and those who will come after.'

She laid one hand lightly on the white uwagi cloth covering her tight flat stomach.

'Urashima should have no complaints of me. And he himself is not unattractive either.'

Tsuruko mentally brought up the memory of the last she'd seen him into clear focus,
it had been at the train station where Narusegawa and Motoko had taken Urashima with
them back to the Hinata Sou. He had been so cutely flustered at that time,
caught in the middle between the two interested parties.

'I believe I will find this family duty most enjoyable.'

Smiling faintly to herself, she began to pack for her trip.

-End Prologue: Planting the Seed-
