Bleach Something I just noticed

I was watching the Bleach anime, and saw Tosen open up a Gargantua. Now, isn't that supposed to be a power unique to Hollows? Wouldn't that mean Tosen is likely now a Vizard?

Urahara opened up a Garganta, and he did it with a Kido spell. Tousen might have just omitted the incantation.

And the espada have devices that force others into another dimension. He could have used a variant on that.

...considering the timing. You're watching the dubbed version on Adult Swim aren't you?

AREN'T YOU! Tainting yourself with the dub! HORRIFYING!

Actually IIRC its meant be unique to the mindless Gillian's, not the ones that have a dominant personality. How both Grimjore or Tousen can do it is a bit of a mystery. Probably some kind of device Aizen created.

It's not. We've seen Adjuchas-level Arrancar do it, and the ability that run-of-the-mill solitary Hollows to travel to and from Hueco Mundo is the same, it just looks different. A circular portal instead of the sky being ripped apart

If you go farther in the series Kisuke later opens a Gargantua so I don't think it's a skill exclusive to hollows. It's probably an instinctive one for Gillian Menos and higher level hollows though.
