SPAAAAAARTAAA!

How it should have happened.

The Spartan king looked grim as he watched the incoming Persian horde with three hundred men behind him. "Alright, men, we must be brave and show the world what us Spartans can do!"

"Whooop!" They cried. The Spartan king smiled, proudly. He raised his spear, "Come on men," He cried, waving his spear. "I know you can cheer better than that!!"

"WHOOP!" They cried even louder.

Then the Persian king approached on his cart like thing, carried by four burly black enouchs. There was six guards on eitherside, three with whips who were whipping the black men.

The Spartan King grew angry at that sight. In Sparta, everyone was a free man and this unabashed slavery made him very very angry.

The 'god' of persia was eight feel tall. He had dark black eyes that showed no mercy. The Spartan king approached him.

"Let me guess, I think I know who you are."

"I am your god," the 'god' replied. "Bow down to me, and you will be spared, and made rich beyond your wildest dreams."

"I can't. I got me a cramp in my leg from all that fighting."

The persian king glared at him. "You will pay for your insolence." Then he snapped his fingers, climbed back on the cart and went away.

Fifteen minutes later...

The black guard approached, wearing silver masks. There was a big battle but they were defeated. Then a hail of arrows showered down on them, but it was blocked.

Instead of the Persian King retreating, and attacking instead at nightfall liked the Spartans hoped he would do, he sent another wave of black guard and another and another.

The Spartans soon died shortly due to exhaustion.

Sparta declared war on Persia and after a terrible fight they unfortunately lost due to lack of numbers.

Butt luckily the black slaves ran away after thumping the king a good one on the head with a hammer.

The End.

I had to get that down, I know its a bit crappy and short but meh, someone has to write some more movie fan fics.

I did get kinda angry at the movie when it showed those poor slaves and servants carrying the king. They should have rebelled or something. For example if they dropped the cart and attacked the king and strangled him before the gaurd could stop them.... I know i would try to do that.

The movie was alright.

You're a 21st century person, with 21st century sensibilities and perceptions, most likely from a democratic country. The idea of freedom for everyone is as brainwashed into you as the idea of "Our King is a god and going against him is useless" was brainwashed into ancient Persian slaves.

Honestly, if you were born and raised during that time, you would probably just have acted the same way as the majority of your community acted then.

you also need to do a little more research on Sparta, there were slaves in Sparta. All Spartan males are drafted into the military. Sparta relied on slave labor to farm for food and other such necessities, slaves who are essentially POWs

Adding to what crazyducke said, the Helot slaves in Sparta outnumbered actual Spartans several times over. Spartan "freedom" was limited only to Spartan born men.

Also, sending wave after wave of troops across the ground where hundreds of their buddies just got slaughtered has a pronounced tendency to have them half-way to retreat before they even reach the enemy. It takes time to get them enthused about avenging their friends. Also with the pass so narrow (much narrower than in real life) it would be possible for Leonidas to keep the rear ranks mostly out of the fight for one attack and then swap them for the front ranks during the next.

As for Xerxes getting offed by his slaves, that's fairly unlikely. Most likely if even one of them tried it they'd all be slaughtered along with their families, so each of them would be watching the others to prevent any individual slave from attacking the God-King and getting them all killed.
