The first book, "The book of Souls" starts about two weeks after Harry defeated Voldemort.
The Epilogue is ignored, there is no initial pairings except for Hermione/Ron.
The starting point is that while Voldemort had control of the ministry an ancient artifact goes missing from the Department of Mysteries. This artifact was named the "Book of Souls" and the only real knowledge Croaker gives Harry and Nevile is that the Book is extremely powerful and in the wrong hands can destroy the world.
So Quick plot overview:
Book Of Souls:
Together Harry, Nevile, and Luna set off to discover what the book is, when it was made, where it was made, who stole it, where the person who stole it is, create a way to steal the book back, Luna finds her Legendary Weapon, they get caught by the person who stole it, defeat the person, the book is accidentally destroyed
Phenomena:
As the Book is destroyed the careful magic constructs that was bound to it are destroyed, magic is leaked slowly into the nonmagical world, Harry, Nevile, Luna, and Others in the party gained from BoS try to figure out a way to stop magic from leaking away from the magical world, Nevile finds his Legendary Weapon, a magical ritual is found to create a new Book of Souls, they go to gather the 5 rare ingredients, lay lines activate world wide, they attempt the ritual at stonehedge, the muggle world finds out about magic, the ritual fails, wands stop working( Throughout the book wands stop being able to do the more complex spells and slowly fades to where they can't do any spells, but at the same time untamed magic grows enabling the "sealed gifts" to awaken, IE Elemental, Soul, Blood, Resurrection, Illusion... wandless magic), the Muggles begin to mount an attack on the magical world.
The White War:
The newly awakened magicals and the no-longer Witch/Wizard faction self define themselves as "Mages", full scale sieges occur on Mages, Vast destruction from the war, Harry, Nevile, and Luna defending an enclave of mages from "The General", the group taking back Paris or London or Rio De Janeiro, Harry fins his Legendary Weapon, the first few "Magical Monsters" appear an attack but are ignored due to the war, the city gains more many more members, "The General" attacks and is defeated by Harry, the map of the world is radically redefined, the talks of using a Nuclear Weapon/Some Insane 30x Ultima type weapon are interrupted by an army of Magical Monsters destroying the largest enclave of non-magicals.
The Well of Magic:
The magicals and nonmagicals join forces against the newly dubbed "fiends", more and more powerful fiends come into existence, it is discovered that the well of magic that was channeled through the book of souls is responsible for the creation of the Fiends, research is done to figure out how to once again seal the well, cue the ritual that failed being gone over again, realized that it needed a person of each magical disciplinary, they gather one missing ingredient, purge stonehedge of fiends and set up camp, complete the ritual to create a new book of souls where all magic is sealed into a single animal. The animal grows 10 tails, destroys the moon, and raises everything to the ground, Harry, his weapon, and the new book of souls were sealed into a cavern.
