If it isn't obvious, the idea for this is a story(line) that crosses over the protagonists from all six (for now) portable games. Whether they are on the same side or not, it's a 'minor' thing to say; after all, it's not like there aren't enough bad guys to elongate the conflict.

What I have the most trouble with is... well, how do I make it work? While on one hand I am not locked as to which series to use (although I do want to use at least one from each game, so Nadesico for instance will be in definitely), the problem is picking a fair amount that doesn't cause massive headaches. And of course, picking the protagonists.

...which, of course, I should only pick one of for the first serieses. *sigh*

...and no, I don't particularly want to have all girls (though since W and K star guys, that at least balances it out somewhat). Do admit the other character will join before the end.

...oh, sorry, that went wrong.

What I mean is, rather than use both at once (partially because in two games they are not together and in two they're not even in the same universe), I want to pick a main character for each generation. For A, the one not chosen remains a member of Shadow-Mirror when they first appear; for R, the one not chosen is lost until they return later; for D, both protagonists appear together and are split as per canon; for J, the three Fury girls end up scattered.

I can't pick units for them, either, though I admit that right now I'm partially fond of Axel if only because of his awesome. ("I'm Axel, the amnesian!") I know I should try balancing it, but... Raul/Fiona have only one machine that goes either way and doesn't matter so much as me wanting the serious twin or the cheerful twin.

...also, I guess it was to simplify things, but it's weird that Josh and Rim keep calling out their attacks. They're both supposed to be serious, so...

(Probably regular Mazinger and Getter up until half those protagonists join and either Gundam Wing for a full story for once or Gundam SEED so I can try my hand at making Destiny not suck.) Dancouga is in because FINAL DANKUUKOUGAKEN, and I suppose Nadesico for being part of the plot in R. It looks like I'll need to pick more Reals, too...

Ashsaber as an MP mech, Angelg as her ranged Super, Vysaga as her high-speed melee Super. Traditionally, MP into Super as the storyline evolves, but only one of the Supers. Which one you choose is up to you, but I find Angelg to be more emblematic of Lamia.

Alternatively, you could follow some of the OG2 storyline and have her in Angelg right off the bat, as a "test pilot".

That's impossible - GSD is already the most incredibly awful franchise within Gundam, so making it suck more becomes an exercise in futility.

It was supposed to be an updated, reimagined Zeta, and it failed. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to make Zeta not be fucking awesome?

Undoubtedly, among the hordes of yaoi and the throngs of not-good-Meer-fanfiction, there's crappy attempts at making things better that end up as 'let's throw an OC to fix things!'.

At any rate, decided what'll happen to a degree for this first bit: in the Shadow-Mirror universe, the colonies went earlier with the original Operation Meteor, causing a Colony Drop that caused major damages and led to the start of war, while in the regular universe, there was enough time for the Gundam pilots to change the plan and thus, we have canon Wing events. (If I go with it, but you get the gist of the change.)

Also... trying to space this properly. I don't *want* the characters getting their new suits too quickly (what with, for instance, me liking the original five Gundams and Mazinger Z/Getter Robo's modifications requiring the loss of the previous unit I believe), other than when the ARDJWK get theirs. Maybe it's because of the whole 'escalation' thing going on I... kind of want the whole 'our units are too weak and old' thing to *show* rather than be told.

Anyway. Enough said. Time to see what 'new' series I'm using!

Okay, so Lamia is the protagonist for the A storyline. All good and dandy so far, except the Ashsaber/Laz Angriff (I still can't decide; Ashsaber feels more like an Axel mech) won't necessarily have the power required to fight against Duminuss, Perfectio, Gu-Landon, Inference, and Lu Cobol. That's what Raul/Fiona, Josh/Rim, Touya/Calvina, Kazuma/Aria, and Mist/Angelica/Sheldia are there for.

...good grief there's too much Kazuma/Aria stuff in the net for my head to handle it now.

The original story from A with them being pure scumbags 'wanting to advance technology forwards at any cost through war, with no real reason for wanting to do so stated outright'?

Or the revised OGs version with the Shadow Mirror 'being the closest thing to the good guys (not really) in their home dimension, since the Feddies are utterly corrupt, probably starting with Beowulf, and would eventually advance technologically far enough to return home and clean house'?

More like the revised OG version, given how this setup has them be the remnants of the old UESA/OZ, after the Colony Drop that the original Operation Meteor was supposed to be actually happened. They used the Time Gate Engine rather than the System XN in this continuity (however, their version was flawed enough, given they didn't travel through time as they wanted) and are mostly so sick of mankind being a bunch of warmongering morons (in their point of view) that they're going to use more war to destroy them all.

Yeah, the irony is lost on them.

(...also, funny how nice the transition for R is for this. Who'd be more fun to have as a main, I wonder? Raul or Fiona?)

Really, OG Gaiden gave Raul and Fiona's storyline the short straw, compared to Kouta, and to a lesser degree, Folka's.

EDIT: Neverwind, you posted earlier that there's only one Excellence core to work with, right?

...dammit, I'll have to select Fiona, though her interactions with Raul in OGG were just too damned hilarious at times.

EDIT 2: Lamia's mecha: definitely as per trevalyan's upgrade route.

And as for GSD, should it ever appear, why not go the ZEUTH-style route split?

I sure as hell sided with the AEUG and ZAFT in that one. So many fond memories...

Oh, both of them are going to appear. The concept is just who should be the one from the Endless Waltz future gone wrong, and who should be the one from the Operation Meteor gone wrong. (Let's just say the Gundam pilots lose and Relena isn't coming out of it alive and leave it at that. Oh, and Colony Drop.)

So far we have countless votes for Lamia piloting the Ashsaver and getting the Angelg for her upgrade, so we'll go with that. Then one vote for Fiona to come from the future with the Excellence, Raji, and Mizuho-san. And by my own tally, we have one vote for the Nadesico, The Big O, Tekkaman Blade, and Voltron Lion Story-I mean Golion. The default series are Gundam Wing, Mazinger Z (leading into game!Mazinkaiser) and Getter Robo (leading into game!Shin Getter Robo).

That's seven series. Also, mind just explaining to me what the ZEUTH way means? I kind of don't know it as much as I should. Do you mean 'picking between Kira and Shinn as the main', to shorten it?

ZEUTH comes from Super Robot Wars Z on the PS2.

I'm pretty sure there's a story translation (Super route only, though) out there somewhere. GameFAQs maybe.

And unfortunately, the Super route ties in more with the Archangel's events than the Minerva's...

Er, I'm now sure how much I can contribute on the poll front.

I've played through all of J, and got into (but never finished) both D and W, but as for K, I have no idea what happens in that one.

The rest of my SRW experience revolves around the Alpha series (where I started... fond memories indeed), A and R on the GBA, Z on the PS2, and all of the Original Generation(s) games.

Like Sanger/Zengar, another of Rishu Togo's apprentices in the Jigen-ryuu school of swordsmanship.

Turns out Murata only values skill in killing and personal gain, as opposed to Sanger and Rishu's emphasis on protecting the innocent.

Pilots a heavily modified Guarlion Custom (Mumyou), wielding a stolen Shishio Blade (same type as the one used by Bullet, while piloting the Huckebein Mk II).

I need to find a video on YouTube of him, give me a while.
