I'm sad. Like, today sucked, but when I got online and heard of his passing I find myself just sitting here in a depressed state.

This makes me incredibly sad.

And yet it was announced on Twitter in a way that truly fits the man and his legacy.

I freely admit it. I cried reading that.

For all the memories that I have of the Disc and the rest of his works. For all the things he taught us, the humor and the knowledge of what is right.

And for all the joy he brought into our lives.

Rest in peace Sir Terry Pratchett you will be missed, but what you have given the world will never be forgotten.

Edit:

Several of the earlier Discworld novels are on sale on Amazon Kindle for up to 60% off. I just got The Color of Magic, The Light Fantastic, Mort, and Guards Guards! for 3.99 each.

If you have not read Discworld and enjoy this story I suggest you get them while they are still on sale in "honor" of Terry Pratchett's death.

Good Omens a collaboration with his close friend Neil Gaiman is 4.99.

Looks at books I just got from the Library the other day.

Sorry Terry Brooks your latest works will have to wait, and besides the ones prior to that have been a little spotty in places as you try to cram more and more POV characters in.

Still looking forward to the Live Action version of the Elfstones of Shannara which is going to be aired on MTV though. Even if it is terrible I really want to see what they make Allanon and the series take on Trolls look like.

I have heard of him in passing as a great writer and it is sad to see a great writer of the Written Word gone.

I shall endeavor to add him to my collection and pass them along my family.

Terry Pratchett's unpublished work destroyed by steamroller

His personal computers and hard drives taken by his estate manager and destroyed.
At first, I was going to comment on what an idiotic thing to do this was, but then, on reading the article, Terry Pratchett wanted it to happen?

Kudos to them for respecting his wishes ... even if a bit late.

mixed feelings myself... I feel it nice they honored his request, but dislike the idea of deliberately destroying what could be works of art, if you consider literature an art form.

I feel somewhat the same way when fan fiction authors delete their works from the internet... they have the right, as after all they wrote it, but I dislike the practice.
