The Instance Run Topic

#1
This is the thread in which we will announce what instances we are going to be running and when for anyone who wants to lend a hand.

Tomorrow, some time after five, Myself, Tavyn, and whoever else we can find will be going after Shadowfang Keep for a quest or two and so I can get some decent frelling armor. Be warned that it IS in undead lands, but once we're actually in the instance, there's no problem. If nothing else, we corpse-run to the front door. Just make sure all your stuff is repaired up.

I'm a little unclear of my schedule for tomorrow, but count me in for now.

If something comes up, I'll try to let you all know.

#3
*smacks forehead* It was Teresa, actually >_< Got the two confused. Tavyn corrected me, but said he'd be up for it too anyway. Might end up being a little later though if we wait for him.

Impromptu WC run ended. If Scygnus logs back on, we can start on SFK whenever.

We're probably going to re-run WC next weekend.

Finished SFK as well. Lots of fun there for me as a leatherworker. I'm gonna have a good chunk of leatherworking to level up from there and WC now. Whee!

I still want to do WC and SFK again at some point and try and nab some of the leather armor items. Anaba/Solar grabbed all the good ones, lucky bastard. I only got a cape and a belt. So sad... :blue: :blue: :blue:

Well shit.

I was just getting near to some decent levels and I just know that you've gotten higher already.

Now, I still need one last DM run before I can start WC, SFK and the others. Anyone care to oblige?

Hey, I only got a cape and boots. My good armor is mostly BOUGHT (my old boots and my current pants). I'm honestly surprised the gloves from the Embrace of the Viper didn't drop, given that we killed every druid in WC except ourselves.

I got the robes that I mostly went in for in SFK, but for some reason, the boss didn't drop the Orb of Soran'ruk that I needed for a quest. So I'll be needing to do that dungeon again later. I'm up for any runs that are around times I'm on, for DE fodder if nothing else. Oh yeah, TW? I've been DEing a lot of cloth stuff because I figure you've got better than me, and it's less than what I have. Just so I know, are you going for stam, int, or spell damage with your equipment? I'm focusing on Spell Damage.

Having played a warlock several times, and with Lenerces/Holyra's main character being a warlock, I'm going to give you both some advice on what stats you should be looking for in your weapons/armor at this point, from highest to lowest: Stamina, Intellect, Spell Damage, Healing, Spell Crit, Spirit, Agility, Strength. You need stamina more than intellect, since you can simply Life Tap your mana to full when you run out, then Drain Health (many raiding warlocks I've seen have 9k+ health and only about 3-4k mana). Spell Damage in any significant amount is very hard to find (in my experience) until around lv 40 or so, though if you can get some good +sdam stuff this early, more power to you, since it increases the base damage for your dots too, and it helps with healing spells like Health Funnel (though to a lesser extent than +heal.) +heal is an acceptable substitute for that if you can't find enough, now that it adds 1/3 of that amount to sdam. +scrit's lower than +sdam and +heal because you don't use direct damage spells very often, and it's impossible for dots to crit. Spirit's that low because you have Life Tap and Drain Life for recovering health/mana, and Agility and Strength, as well as any +p(hysical)dam or +pcrit or +block are pretty much unnecessary for casters. Also, Resistance gear is only really necessary for some instances and bosses therein, and maybe for PvP as well, and the same goes for Spell Penetration. And if you go Demonology, you won't really need resistance gear once you have Master Demonologist and Felhunter (at max level, Master Demonologist gives you +1 to all resistances for each of your levels when you have your Felhunter out, so at 70 you have +70 to all resistances.)

I go for mostly stam if Spell Damage isn't available. But the Robes of Arugal and Riding Gloves give me a nice 16 point bonus, which is pretty damn decent for... level 25 I think I'm at right now. I don't have much stam gear at the moment, but other than those, I don't really have very good equipment, but I'm working on it.

I'm actually speccing Affliction at the moment, at least until I can get Felguard... though I may actually stick with it, if Unstable Affliction is as powerful as it sounds.

Allright. We need to set up a Stocks run as soon as possible or the quests are going to start going green on me :p

Also, we've decided that once we get enough people strong enough, we're going to take down Stitches. You know, that giant zombie that you usually have to run away from on the main road in Duskwood? He's a level 30 Elite and is massively strong. I really just wanna see if we can, and if he maybe drops some nice loot.

As far as Stocks goes... I'll be available Thursday this week, but other than that I'm packed until monday or tuesday afternoon. So, any takers on a Stocks run sometime Thursday? If not, we can do it later, or y'all can do it now and I'll ask for an assist when I get back...

Stitches doesn't drop anything really good. He drops a bone/mace mostly, and that's about it. Mostly he's just there to set the mood of how badly you screwed up by helping the embalmer and leaving you feeling epic if you somehow manage to freaking win.

I'm up for Stockades and BFD runs, as I'm the right level for both and have a few quests for each. I probably won't be on until Friday however.

This week has just been messily busy at work.

I'm in for both. I just need one last DM run to Sneed and then I'm good for the main quest.

I'm loaded on quite a few Stocks quests, myself.

I'll try to be on in the afternoons, around 4 or so.

College sucks. Can't wait till I get a job, either. [/sarcasm]

College is a blast for free time compared to a job.

At least with college you can schedule your classes so you have certain days off, or only have to worry about classes in the mornings or evenings (depending on if you're a morning or evening person). And hey, internet connection is great for downloading anime. I rarely bother with anime these days.

So much freedom compared to the bleh 7am-5pm mondays thru friday of work (and that's assuming no overtime, which generally...well, you always assume there -is- overtime. Ugh...).

So next week then. I'll just work on killing all the quests in Wetlands. Oh, and I still need to finish the quest for my Succubus, then it's on to the Felhunter in three levels. Not that I'll use either, but they give some good rewards on the side.

Oh, and does anybody know which Horde can understand Common or not? When I'm 70, I was thinking of walking into a Horde town and yelling "I AM INVINCIBLE!" to see how fast they come.

And yes, jobs do give you a lot less free time. On the other hand, you'll have more money (if you're smart enough not to blow it like 99% of the population) to do whatever you want with, once the bills are paid.

Then of course, you could get lucky like me and find a dream job where you make a decent amount for a high-school graduate and work far less hard than at a fast-food joint. Rent-a-Pig I may be, but the job is easy and the money is sweet, so I say to you "Oink Bitches".

None of the hordies understand Common past the fact that "bur" is Common for "lol". But they know what language you're speaking, so they'd still come running to kill you.

edit: I'm both in college and working... I get paid minimum wage ($7.50/hr in Illinois, yay!) to write for the school paper. 10-20 hours a week.

Actually, there are numerous known phrases that translate back and forth between languages.

For instance, "QQ QQ QQ" translates to "Ha ha ha".

or "F J F D" translates to "you lose" (though granted, it looks more like "yo u lo se").

A friend of mine has macro'd 'Dont Taze me Bro', though its long, and i have no clue what it is.

Alright guys, I've got class from 6-8:30 CST, and it's a fifteen-twenty minute drive from my place to school, so I'll be back (and on) around 8:45-9.

All right. I need to do a run of Blackfathom Deeps, mostly for one of my warlock quests. Any other quests that I could be pointed to or quests that could be shared around, I would like to do as well... though if nobody else has/wants to look for the quests, I'll use wowhead and go grab them up and then share around. There's only five or six.

Though we also need to do a stocks run... like, soon. I'm clear for monday afternoon, tuesday afternoon, and then anytime wednesday or thursday. It'd be best to do Stocks first, so we can have room for those other quests. I have the two grinders for Stocks, and I think I have all the bounties, which can be shared. The only one you'll have to get yourselves is the one leading from the letter you find on VC's corpse. Just remind me to share everything before we head in.

Incidentally, I'd be up for a run on VC as well, if anyone still needs his head and the letter, though he won't give me exp and DE fodder down there is pretty lame, so I'd rather not.

Meh. Server's down and I can't seem to reconnect after 20 minutes. I'm going to bed.

Hopefully we can go do the instance again tomorrow or something.

I'm not as exhausted as I thought, so I might be on a little tonight. Probably no later than eight or so though.

Excellent. I'll try to be on around that time as well, if not a little earlier.

Mweheheh...Gauner (Trunkyboy) and I did a duo run of Wailing Caverns, the one that we disconnected from last night due to server troubles. Our rogue/druid combo took names and kicked ass. And I grabbed another part of the embrace the viper armor set. Wheee!!

We didn't get to Mutanus unfortunately, so Gauner still needs that part of the WC experience.

#24
Um. I meant I probably won't be on after eight... as in, I'll probably go to bed then or shortly thereafter.

Then again, with the way things usually go, I wouldn't be surprised if I put it off until two A.M. again :sweat2:

I wouldn't mind doing WC again... Verdan drops... something that's good for me. Not sure what, but I remember looking it up earlier.

I was also looking at the stats on some of the higher 'lock sets. Corrupter Raiment :cumdrool:

Also, I'll be getting it soon anyhow, but I'm wondering... Siphon Life is a set-and-forget and not a channeled spell, right? Pretty sure it is, especially since Drain Life looks stronger, but it ties you up. Siphon Life sounds like a good addition to my stack of afflictions, and the healing is a nice bonus.

Oh, and I'd also like to join in on any DM runs we're doing. I want a pair of Gold-Flecked Gloves for their spell-damage. I've got Riding Gloves right now that're worth four, but those are worth seven, so I'd rather like to have a pair. I'd really rather not do DM again, but I want those damn gloves...

Anywho, can we drum up interest for a Stocks run early tonight? I'll be home in two hours or so and I'm going to get on shortly after I get home.

Yeah, Siphon Life is set-forget. Lock-Shadow Priest teamups are truly evil, with all the dots they put on you and then the priest starts in with Mind Flay while the lock uses Drain Soul or Drain Life... you don't last long, unless you've got absurdly high health or shadow resistance.

Anyway, I'll probably hop on along with you, Scyg, and I'm up for anything. If you decide you need a pally or mage for some reason... well I have Len/Holy's account info, if he's not back by then. :evil2:
