The Magic of the Mikado

A strange idea, I'll admit, but bear with me.

It starts during the first SM arc. Somehow, the Negaverse has gained an advantage over our heroines; not only are the Youma draining more and more civilians, but some of the big figures of the criminal underworld are helping Beryl, along with a reclusive criminal mastermind whose only known name is "The Professor".

One night, the Senshi go out on patrol, and they encounter two shady looking people in an alleyway. The two groups fight untill a fortuitous light reveals that the Senshi are facing off against none other than The Great Detective himself, Mister Sherlock Holmes, Esquire, and his able assistant, Doctor John H. Watson, M.D.

It becomes clear that Queen Beryl has entered an alliance with the infamous Professor James Moriarty, "The Napoleon of Crime", and his organisation is supplying her with resources and manpower, from the time of Victorian England and beyond.

Now, the Senshi must work with Holmes and Watson, not only to bring down the Dark Kingdom, but also smash Moriarty's criminal empire, before it can back-engineer computers and other modern technology to bring the British Empire to its' knees... And all this without having Rei or any of them fly off the handle at Holmes' and Watson's parochial attitudes to womenfolk.

Hmmm... while it might make sense that Moriarty would be around after 140+ years, having hmade a deal with Beryl, how did you plan on Homes and Watson being around.

Also... while it explains Moriarty himself, it would not explain his massive organization.

Unless... Beryl awoke some 100+ years early, and made the deal in the 1800's to Moriarty, it would explain him and organization being around.

But not Holmes and Watson.

This idea may involve time-travel, be warned. I got the idea after visiting the Sherlock Holmes Museum in London, and hearing that my dad got a laptop, which I'm writing this out on.

Even a fairly cheap and cheerful laptop computer could have devestating repercussions, if it had things like aircraft or tank designs in its' memory, and it fell into the wrong hands, particularly in Victorian London.

There are shades of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen there, too. An interesting idea, to be sure. Holmes is an opponent beyond Beryl's capacity to outhink - which is more than one can say for the majority of the Sailor Senshi. ^_^

Exactly. Plus, I find the image of Holmes doing his famous lines of reasoning to create a character profile of each of the Senshi to be amusing.
