The Replacement Wesley Crushers

All right, we all hate Wesley from Star Trek TNG. I mean even will Wheaton hated Wesley. So I say we replace him with someone better. A person who deserved to be on the flagship of Starfleet, getting tutoring by the best crew in the business and eventually sent off to Starfleet academy with glowing recommendations (if thatÆs the direction They wanted to go in). Only to graduate with high honors in their chosen field.

I want characters that, after their time aboard the Enterprise and their training at the Academy, Starfleet commanders would be fighting one another to have as members of their crew.

(And now I just got an image of various Starfleet Captains and Commanders having a major battle Royale while the old trek fight music plays in the background.

Captain 1: ôThe graduate is joining the crew of the Titan!ö *getÆs tackled from behind.

Captain 2: ôNO! The Melbourne needs them more!ö)

Male or female it doesnÆt matter, just provide me with young people who SHOULDÆVE had this honor.

IÆll start us off.

Sagara Souske

I see him becoming WorfÆs pupil and something of a big brother to Alexander. He wonÆt be the math/engineering genius that Wesley was, but when it comes to battle and non-linear thinking heÆs your man.

If he joins Starfleet heÆll eventually become one of their elite intelligence officers. However, since he was heavily influenced by Worf, itÆs possible heÆll join the Klingon Empire instead, bringing honor to the house of Mog, and mitigating much of the damage done by Goron during the whole Dominion Crisis.

Negi Springfield

A powerful telekinetic brought aboard to help teach a class on Alien languages. His race is relatively insular so no one aboard the Enterprise really knows what he can do. However he proves himself in crisis after crisis, slowly earning the command crews trust and respect.

Riker takes him under his wing, teaching him how to be friendly and charming with his class of girls, while still remaining professional and commanding respect. Of course Picard provides sage advice now and again as well.

Nanoha Takamachi

Well, her tendency to beat sense into people might be a little outside Starfleet regs, but darn if it wouldnÆt be funny to see her turn the Borg into the Federations new best friends. IÆm kidding, though I do imagine having a magical girl in a Starfleet uniform would be an odd, if interesting sight.

Either Guinan, or Data forms a close bond with her over the course of the series.

So we Dump Wesley out the airlock and come up with a replacement.

Shion Uzuki: what do you mean she reprogramed Lore?

Ashley J. Williams: The crack is strong in this one.

Eikichi Onizuka: Great Ensign Onizuka?

Alexander: Hell he's Worfs kid lets use him instead.

Mission Vao...not quite sure how to justify her there, but it would be amusing as hell, even more so with a bodyguard.

Young Boba Fett, I can see Worf finding this fun.

Take Star Trek's propensity for Worm Holes, Alternate Universes, Time Warps and Spatial anomalies, add in Star Wars 'will of the force' let simmer and engage cross over.

Riful, she looks like a kid at least. And Ordo was right about the AU, wormhole, etc's.

A young Annika Hanson (sp). Not really the same as Seven, but the Queen had to have picked her for a reason, which might have been mentioned somewhere in the series, but I was never religious about watching.

Artemis Fowl, thou I think they would regret teaching him.

Flonne would be interesting and its already established that that universe is connected to many others. Not so much a good science or tactical person, but she would probably hit it off pretty well with Troi and Guinean(sp?). Or drive them nuts.

Anakin Skywalker, just as long as the Emo-kin portion of his development is avoided he would probably be a better, or on par, engineer than Wesley.

Emeralda, been a while since I played it, but I am pretty sure she both looks like and acts like a child when you first pick her up. Data and her would get along pretty well.

heh, minor necro but I couldn't pass up making a comment.

Shikamaru Nara from Naruto would be a good story, it fits his cannon development any way. Earlier years would be pretty funny to write. Too close to cannon to really be a switch but could be intresting with his work ethic.

Molly Carpenter from the Dresden Files would be an interesting hell raiser to put on the ship. When powers start to develop she could really screw with Troy. I could see many, "These aren't the droids your looking for moments." Definitely has the character to be a real bad ass during the dominion wars. She just has a part of her that is made of iron and when it comes to making difficult choices she would be a lot more fun to read about.

Either of the Elrich brother from FMA
AL would be a spin on Data. The interaction between the two of them would be fun to write. Boy turned cyborg learning from a cyborg trying to be more human. I could see lots of interaction with Jordie.
Ed just has the drive to be in such a position. You would have to alter his background but the core of the character would still work. He would definitely be a thorn in Picard's side for the duration of his stay. I could see him geting along very well with O'Brien and Worf.

Complete Crack Fic, a young John Crichton from Farscape. Nobody wants to read peace keepers vs trekkies but I think to would make some interesting plot turns.
