All right, we all hate Wesley from Star Trek TNG. I mean even will Wheaton hated Wesley. So I say we replace him with someone better. A person who deserved to be on the flagship of Starfleet, getting tutoring by the best crew in the business and eventually sent off to Starfleet academy with glowing recommendations (if thatÆs the direction They wanted to go in). Only to graduate with high honors in their chosen field.
I want characters that, after their time aboard the Enterprise and their training at the Academy, Starfleet commanders would be fighting one another to have as members of their crew.
(And now I just got an image of various Starfleet Captains and Commanders having a major battle Royale while the old trek fight music plays in the background.
Captain 1: ôThe graduate is joining the crew of the Titan!ö *getÆs tackled from behind.
Captain 2: ôNO! The Melbourne needs them more!ö)
Male or female it doesnÆt matter, just provide me with young people who SHOULDÆVE had this honor.
IÆll start us off.
Sagara Souske
I see him becoming WorfÆs pupil and something of a big brother to Alexander. He wonÆt be the math/engineering genius that Wesley was, but when it comes to battle and non-linear thinking heÆs your man.
If he joins Starfleet heÆll eventually become one of their elite intelligence officers. However, since he was heavily influenced by Worf, itÆs possible heÆll join the Klingon Empire instead, bringing honor to the house of Mog, and mitigating much of the damage done by Goron during the whole Dominion Crisis.
Negi Springfield
A powerful telekinetic brought aboard to help teach a class on Alien languages. His race is relatively insular so no one aboard the Enterprise really knows what he can do. However he proves himself in crisis after crisis, slowly earning the command crews trust and respect.
Riker takes him under his wing, teaching him how to be friendly and charming with his class of girls, while still remaining professional and commanding respect. Of course Picard provides sage advice now and again as well.
Nanoha Takamachi
Well, her tendency to beat sense into people might be a little outside Starfleet regs, but darn if it wouldnÆt be funny to see her turn the Borg into the Federations new best friends. IÆm kidding, though I do imagine having a magical girl in a Starfleet uniform would be an odd, if interesting sight.
Either Guinan, or Data forms a close bond with her over the course of the series.
