Third Time's The Charm
As suggested by a reader, what if Keitaro passed the Exam the third time and Naru her first, with him. As Mutsumi has to meet them, they may still endure the events of running away, thinking they failed. The magic of the Hinata District, and the deposed Hina gods, means their binding promise from 15 years ago will only let them fulfill it together. So, if they passed and thought they failed, and went hither and yon, ending up on the island, then returned, together, to file the exam results and become todai students, what would happen next? This is that story.
ôWe did it. We really did it. Before we cross the line, thereÆs something I want to tell you, Naru,ö said Keitaro, tanned from their adventure to Okinawa with Mutsumi. Naru raised an eyebrow. Mutsumi crowded in on NaruÆs other side to listen in.
