This stems from a bizarre comparison I made when thinking about NGE and looking up BattleTech sites.
The Objective here is to take a group of characters and transplant them into a new setting.
A sample idea that mixes NGE with MechCommander:
Mechwarrior Private Shinji Ikari (codenamed Fury) of Yankee Company, First Davion Guards, and his squad leader, Mechwarrior Corporal Rei Ayanami (codename Ice) have been cut off from Command by a Clan attack. Now, they have to get to the closest rendezvous point to get off of Port Arthur before the Clan controlling the planet, Clan Smoke Jaguar, find and destroy them.
