It happens in some manga, anime, and fanfic occasionally. Sometimes its done well, sometimes... not.

Take a couple, or a harem, and have one or more of their future children travel back in time to 'help' them in some way. Preferably, do it with a series that you haven't seen it done well in before, or in a way that you haven't seen.

Shinji travels back in time with the goal of emasculating Gendo for the strangest form of suicide ever concieved. Although he might stop off to kill Asuka's parents first if he can find them. :snigger:

Asuka's dad? Pretty much pointless to kill off. He was just a sperm donor.

Besides, I'm a firm believer in nurture over nature. Shinji could raise Devoted Harem Girl!Asuka, in the place of Dysfunctional!Asuka, for his younger self to appreciate. :p

And while he's at it, tell his mom lies about what Gendo REALLY does. :evil2:

Emiya Shirou's kids (from different wives and different timelines) are accidentally sent to the past via a screwed up spell or via an amused Zelretch. Just to complicate matters, one has a mild Electra Complex.

All of Keitaro's future children from the harem come back to beat some sense into their mothers for treating him like crap. Well ok, Naru's, Motoko's, and Mitsune's kids want a word with their mothers. The others just want to spend time with Daddy.

Although Kanako's and Haruka's girls are looking at him funny. Well I guess that DOES run in the family.

Mm... as my mind tends to get it turned to something a bit more obscure.

FFT

There are several named females that are on your team but even though there is a strong plot romance is not part of the story but there is plentifully oppurtunites for such a relationship to have happened. So my thinking is they arrive through the celestial orb, which apparently creates interdimentional portals (allows you to summoncloud from FF7).

Their reasoning is likely to assist their parents against evil factions about in Ivalice (and direct their father to their mother)

Girls
Agrias - A stern Holy swordsman who is the first female to join and bares a lot of plot toward the begining. Sees herself as a warrior before as a woman.

Rafa - an exotic darkskinned teen with a unique bloosline of magic. A former assassin and very close to her brother. Her part in the game may hint attraction to the lead ramza but it was never explored.

Meliadoul - a divine knight who is tyhe daughter of one of the main villains. Unaware of the demonic connections her father has at first until he tries to eliminate her. She joined Ramza to destory the demon that replaced her father.

Oveila - The princess being used during the struggle of power. Eventually took under the wing of Ramza's childhood friend delita though toward the beginning seems to connect to Ramza and was friends with his sister. in Canon is destined for tragedy.

there are others but those are the main four options presented.

Sousuke Sagara's children come from the past to test his situational awareness, and to see if he was just making shit up when he said how comparatively unprepared they were. He wasn't.

Anakin Skywalker, he's one of the ancestors that Cade takes deathsticks just to make leave him alone. Luke is on that list as well.

Anakin Solo is an entirely different entity entirely
