TOONAMI THANK YOU GOD

Yeah, and Casshern Sins doesn't look like it'll interest me either.

Wish they'd chosen something more interesting as their new ones. But hopefully, when they end, they'll get something a bit less dark and gloomy, but still action oriented.

Maybe Slayers, the new Saint Seiya stuff, etc.

I didn't like it either.

And no.

And I thought Paranoia Agent was messed up. These new anime could teach Evangelion a thing or two about being nihilistic and depressing.

Actually, I'd like to see EVA return as part of the line up. Old school EVA, not the reboot.

I thought Casshern Sins looked pretty interesting. Deadman Wonderland on the other hand, too creepy.

I only stayed to watch the new stuff. I thought of the dubs (ignoring plot and things like that so far), Casshern was better done. That might be of course due to the smaller cast they're working with, but I was really impressed with Casshern's voice actors. Braiking Boss needs a little work, but it's not like he's bad. Just not as good as the rest of the others.

Deadman Wonderland was average. Ganta's voice was a little bit shrieky and whiny, which is expected this early on. I'm hoping the VA will drop a little bass later on as Ganta matures in the story. Yo's voice was terrible, but I'm hoping that's an affectation done and his real voice will be better. Makina was the best one there. Shiro was okay, Woodpecker song was terrible. I can't stress that enough.

In both cases, it's not good to judge on the first episode alone. Still, I prefer Deadman Wonderland just a tad more.

I'll admit to cheating and looking up what's going to happen in both series on wiki. For Deadman Wonderland, well Paranoia Agent levels of messed up combined with gore is a good analogy. Of course the fact is comes from the same person that made Eureka Seven shows a trippy mind at play. This is just a darker vision from that mind.

Casshern Sins... depressing stuff is depressing. That's all I can say.

Am I the only one psyched by the slight change in Tom's attitude?

"Toonami's Back, Bitches."

And thank god they stuck with this version of TOM, if they'd brought back that last version, I would have been supremely pissed.

I don't have CN right now, but the line-up looks awesome.

It's also unfortunately the end of Deadman Wonderland plus one of those used to be aired on there anyway (Eureka 7). Still pretty awesome especially since I haven't seen Samurai 7 & I never got to see all of Eureka 7.

Eh, I'd only have an interest in Samurai 7. Eureka Seven never really grabbed me.

Samurai 7 is coming to Toonami?

Did Deadman Wonderland just end and get replaced or did they cancel it?
? Eh, I'd only have an interest in Samurai 7. Eureka Seven never really grabbed me.
Agreed.

I'd have preferred something like Tenchi GXP or Slayers or something a bit more recent than that. R+V or Kenichi or the like.

Well, he did mention old series while claiming they were recent. Sense and taste seem to be out of the window.

That's the current end of the Deadman Wonderland anime, although I don't know if they are working on a second season. The story is much more advanced (and more messed up if that's possible) in the manga right now.

Honestly, I'd rather see them go properly Old School and play all the Tenchi OAV's, including the third. It was kind of a tease to give us the finale without letting use see how it got there. (Even if I didn't care for the voice actress for Ryoko for the third OAV at all. Seriously, I could think of at least a couple of different women that do voice overs/animated work that sound so much closer off the top of my head. Someone in the actual industry could do better with minimal effort.)

This. I was surprised they even showed any episode of the third ova at all, but to just give us the ending without the build up? Bad showing, CN.

Oh my fucking god, the voices. I understand that some of the previous actors may have died/retired/been busy on other projects, but dead god, you could have at least made an actuall effort to find someone who could sound as close to the original actress as possible (like what ADV did for Excel Saga), or just go with someone new who didn't sound anything like the previous actress, and went her own way.

The New Ryoko gave me a headache. As did Washuu. At least the others were okay.

EDIT: I am rather excited about Samurai Seven I remember seeing the first episode on some preview dvd (I think it came with some anime mag), and liking it. I meant to buy the set, but never got around to it. Now I don't have to!

Extremely sorry for this necro, but it seems like SARA is back. Oh, and we have TOM 5 and a new Absolution. Behold. Again, extremely sorry for the necro.

Don't worry about it, it provided content relevant to the thread, so it's not even a necro.
