It's not wise to over-upgrade.

Buildings and their upgrades increase your points total. Building troops does not.

People can't tell you have troops or how many unless they send scouts at you(you'll get a warning in the rally point building). They can tell how well developed your village is just by looking at the points total for the village.

EDIT I'm not saying don't upgrade at all, of course, but make sure you keep building troops. You ought to have 1000 spears and 1000 swords by the time your village has 500 points.

Building the smithy. A couple more farms, and swordsmen will be mine!

Also at 40 spears.

Yeah, unfortunately you got stuck in something of a bad spot without very close bonus villages.

Keep at it, though. Everyone else around you appears noobish(cept for the two guys north of you), so you'll be able to advance pretty quick.

EDIT: But the light cavalry will alleviate that, somewhat. Other than scouts, they have the fastest travel times. Means faster farms and therefore more of them. ^_^

My smithy is finished. Oddly enough, it seems that it also came with the swordsman upgrade instead of having to research it.

Also, it seems things are a little different in this world in regard to abandoned villages.

Barbarian villages have added defense, but are otherwise normal abandoned villages. I thought there were the barbarian villages of World 11, ones that replenished units. Woops.

So, they are a viable farm target, but that added defense makes me wary of attacking them atm with limited forces. Think I'll wait til I have scouts.

Any last minute stranglers want to join up? So far we've only got five members for this branch of the TFF soveriegn, and unless we're the five most uber TFFers ever to grace this game, we're not going to be a very capable alliance.

...uh. While this may be a bit late, I'd like to vote for stragglers instead, at least until I get my iron collar on and locked. :snigger:

What, you don't have siblings that have tried to strangle you on a regular basis before? I recommend it, it does wonders for the neck muscles!

Edit: And no you probably don't want to know what I'm really into.
