Unnecessary Sub-Forums

Which is the basis of the idea I've posted in the ideas thread. I don't think many people actually realized the point of the suggestion- or even read it.

And I'm behind Shirotsume's Forum Reordering idea. It wouldn't actually change the content but it would make the main page a fair bit more presentable and bring together titles with similar formats.

I think the Challenges subforum is pretty unnecessary. It's always felt rather superfluous since it's pretty rare for someone to actually respond to them. I figure it'd be better just to have a Challenge thread in each Ideas section.

Or just have a thread in General Fanfiction, perhaps.

I'd actually like to do something more with Challenges. Don't know what precisely, but I like the idea of having a place for things like that.

I considered that too. On that front, I figured we could make "official" challenges on a regular basis, where TFFers write a story for whatever fandom with a specific theme or idea and do it within a word limit. It wouldn't necessarily need to be a contest but it could.

It'd be a way of promoting productivity for fanfics.

Hey! Why not turn it into the official Iron Fic forum?

You can move all of the old threads/participants there and have a nice, tidy place to showcase past and future Iron Fic Contests.

For the challenges forum

How about you make it into a single forum, instead of one for the challenge and one for the response. The first post is the challenge and the responses come in the replies to the challenge.

I would say that the "challenges" needs to go at the top of the fanfiction section, not its current location at the bottom, let it be one of the first things people read about.

The only other thing I can think about is we need to change its name... "challenges" gets very little response to TFF while we have had many unofficial writing contests of short fics that have been very popular and highly active.
