well I don't think I'd call it a direct sequel, it takes place 3 years in the future. From what I can tell you don't need Path, but seeing as I can't lay it until whenever it comes out here... GenocideHeart or could could probabally give you a summary that'll get you up to date if you want

Fire Emblem 6 was a direct sequel of FE7 (the first GBA American FE), or rather FE7 was a prequel of FE6. Given how both titles were perfectly playable standalone, I don't see this new FErequiring the old one to play. You should be able to 'get' the backstory from the narration.

Titania's stats... She's maxed STR and near maxed two or three others. If she still has those ungodly stats growths from FE9, she0ll be a right monster in this game.

Well apparently there are three-tiers of promotion this time, so thats the reason for Titania high status, except for HP. Although I'm not sure if these are her status as a level 16 Pally or Great Knight probabally Paladin

Sword/Lance/Axe (Armor) Knight--> Sword/lance/Axe General --> Marshal

Cavalier--> Paladin---. Glory Knight (Geoffrey)/Great Knight (Titania)

(Ike) Hero--> Vanguard

Archer--> Sniper--> God Archer
and those are only the ones that have been annouced so far
