What keeps you coming back?

pretty simple concept, what keeps you coming back to TFF? Is it the hope that something will update that hasn't in a while? is it the community? let's hear it.

I have a bookmark folder called Reading Material. TFF is one of the tabs that opens when I right click->open all.

I've pretty much accepted at this point that I don't have the patience or the staying power to actually write something.

The update / recommended fic lists, the image threads, the fiction of course, and like seitora said, the users.

There's been a lot of interesting / intriguing / humorous discussions / threads during my time as a member, and I often find myself enjoying those threads more than any other.

God damn, I love this place...

I like to think that I made some good friends here.

Plus the contests are nice ways to get the muse working when I'm stuck.

These days I'm just here to chat and throw down some story ideas or canon theories when the mood strikes me. And keep up with Daneel Rush's work; I think he's the only writer with work on this site that still updates and I still follow.

But after all these years, it's just hard to imagine not visiting TFF.

An irritating compulsion to post lots of images.

Originally, I was actually asked to join it, to review some stories and see if I wanted to contribute...

When this was still on Invision forum... I was tempted to leave several times. I grew very frustrated with certain users and certain posts...

Each time I even gave a hint of it, I got PM's form those asking me to stay...

Since the switch, I've not really felt too much like leaving, but I do not really see to much reason to stay either.

That is in point of fact not the fault of the forum per se, but of the fandoms and stories I follow. Most of what I follow is either older fandoms not overly active here any more, or fandoms I refuse to participate in the forum for due to crazy psycho canon cops.... I gave up on them... not worth the headaches...

You take those terrible ideas, and somehow always manage to turn them into gut busters.

Always?

No, just more often than not.

I haven't felt like writing for the past few days, which is really annoying as I was hoping to do a 50k(ish) word fic in 30 days. I even had a basic outline/plot thing work out.

(For a given value of worked out, of course).

Managed to get over 10k words, but not enough of it is continuous enough to post for critique at this time.

You have no idea how tempted I was to mod abuse and write "User was banned for this post" in big red letters. :ph43r:
Now there's an April Fool's day joke.

It would really only be funny if I did it to myself publicly, because otherwise we'd get way too many people 1. outraged at mod abuse and 2. not getting the joke/looking at their member status.

Yeah. For every one person that finds an april fool's joke funny, there's 20 who think you're literally satan fucking a puppy with a plow blade for daring to do so.
