Ranma ½ Which One Would You Marry?

I was going to complain about the thread necro, but then I thought better of it, and took the excuse of already being in the thread to look at the Natsumi pictures, any excuse being as good as any other. :sisi:

Canon tells us almost nothing about Kasumi. That doesn't strike me as the safe choice... Devil you know, and all that Jazz. Same goes for the twins, only more so.

Ukyo is the 'safe' choice, as I see it. Aside from her rather disturbing fixation on Ranma, she's pretty mellow and friendly. If you don't mind being in the okoomiyaki biz, or having a partner that crossdresses, it could work out pretty easily. I could see myself being okay with that.

Akane actually strikes me as the most mentally stable of the lot, based on canon evidence. She's the one we actually see doing "normal highschool girl" things. No martial arts or cooking fixation that dominates her life.

She also doesn't come with a load of strings attached like Ukyo and Shampoo, and as such, might actually be willing to pack up and move to Hawaii (she's not personally obligated to inherit the dojo, AFAICT). No need to worry about being trapped in a backwater Chinese Village or shackled to a Okonomiyaki business.

Kodachi just plain creeps me out and I really don't see Yamato Nadeshiko Kasumi being the sort to welcome cultural readjustment. So the "move to Hawaii Plan is limited to Akane or Nabiki.

Okay, yeah, Akane does have a lot of insecurities, but they all strike me as things that could be dealt with, if her buttons weren't constantly being pressed by a jerk with no tact. Akane's temper is vastly exaggerated in fanon anyway.

Nabiki... honestly, relationships require trust. That alone pretty much rules out Nabiki, and Kodachi, and possibly Shampoo, though I'd have to recheck canon to assess how trustworthy the faux chinese girl is.

So, Akane or Ukyo. Probably Akane, as I'm not terribly enthused about the food biz.

Nice knowing you then, cause sooner or later she's going to cook. And even if Manga is not as bad as Anime, it still isn't fit for human consumption. :snigger:

How about Yuka or Sayuri then? I doubt there's anything particularly wrong with them except that they hang out with Akane.

Actually, in the manga, Akane eventually buys enough ranks in Craft (cooking) that she can make a passable curry even with her "allways rolls a natural 1 on anything socially defined as feminine" flaw. She reaches that level somewhere around book 20-24, IIRC.

And if the Law of Comic Exaggeration is in effect, I would assume it would apply to me as much as Akane, so while fairly temporary pain might be in the equation, death is not.

Dumbledork: (stupid forum not letting me quote two people) I wasn't aware that they were allowable choices. But again, I know NOTHING about them. Maybe if an Omiai with right of refusal were in the scenario, but AFAIK, it;s not.

Ehhh... it may not allow for it automatically, but it allows you to quote as many people you want merely entering and editing the tags...

No one knows anything about them. They're girls who hang around Akane; that is pretty much the extent of their character depth. I don't think they're even named in the manga; I'm pretty sure their names came from the screen credits for the anime.

And yeah, the forum definitely allows you to quote multiple people in one post, it's just not automatic. As PCH says, you have to write the tags yourself. Which is not hard, just tedious. But it can be done.

Serious debate over the marriage prospects of the worst women ever written in a non-H manga

You know, I could probably justify reporting that to Hawk, since this seems no different functionally from "You Fail" macros which have veen banned fpr ages, but Hawk hasn't been here in over a month and he basically doesn't give a damn about TFF anymore, so I don't think I should bother, and in fact I don't know why I'm writing this post. It's that pointless.

? Err wut? Aren't you taking it a little too seriously?

Its just saying that he found the way your are being so serious about this topic funny. The only potentially offensive part is where he says that these are the worst women ever. And thats not a personal attack.

Thats all.

I mean if you were right all the facepalm pictures would be subject to bans too.

It's hard to argue about that rule being sensless. Considering Rumiko's uncaring approach to setting canon, as well as light and slapstick nature of manga, half of the non-story threads in Ranma section could be spammed with various "you fail! / lol" style pics.
