Here's a topic for any televised wrestling promotions. WWE, TNA, etc.

I'll start it off. Has anyone heard if the Cena match Sunday is supposed to be the out to "fire" Laurenitis and get Road Warrior Hawk's (as opposed to Hawk-sama) far less talented little brother back behind the cameras where he belongs? I can take a Lesnar run in or something after the match but I am hoping this will be the excuse to get "Big Johnny" off camera. He just does not play Vince's angle very well.

Last year it was Michael Cole; this year it's Johnny Ace. Whenever they come on, I change the channel.

I can understand that Vince is getting too old to take bumps and play the evil boss and that Stephanie and HHH are kind of busy with their kids, but Shane did a good arrogant ass. Why can't he start running things on camera and spare us this crap? For god sake, as sloppy as they were he still sold his matches with Kane. Anyone that could hang on that level deserves more props.

And on a TNA note... Fuck Beer Money. First you try to steal the APA's angle (badly) then you turn Roode into a less country JBL? Is Jarrett's promotion really that bereft of ideas? Will Vince have to buy them out too in order to spare us this crap?

I also wish WWE would sign Daffney. We need a proper psycho bitch to revitalize the "Diva" roster. And it doesn't hurt that she is hot on top of it. Heck I actually miss her old WCW angle with David Flair. He couldn't wrestle well, but he played a good rich kid that had a psychotic break.

Shane can't because he's not with WWE anymore. He left to do his own business.

Fair point. But they still need someone that can fill Vince's on-air shoes. Stephanie seems business savvy enough to run things behind the scenes when he kicks it but she's just not a convincing presence on camera. And let's face it, Laurenitis fails because he's too low on the totem pole. You keep waiting for HHH to show up and fire his ass. It's a disconnect in the suspension of disbelief. I guess I should say I wish they could get Shane to work the family business again.

I'm not sure anyone on the current roster _can_ fill Vince's shoes. You'd have to bring someone in who isn't a current wrestler, who is still relevant and can play both heel and face. Hunter -can- but he'd have to take a demotion to GM as opposed to COO as he can't do both without the storylines really getting screwed up.

If Shane could be brought back, it would be good for business for all of a month, maybe, before backstage politics gets in the way. Hmm... wonder if they could talk 'Taker into taking the job...

CM Punk would make for a pretty good GM. He's elevated being a troll to an art.

Too popular as a wrestler. It would be like putting HBK or Austin in there. Nice in theory, bad in practice. What the really need is another Jack Tunney. A nearly faceless "commissioner" that acts almost fully behind the scenes and does not get into direct feuds while still advancing the plot.

Actually, if you want a former wrestler that could play things more toward the middle... Arn Anderson could become the Enforcer backstage as he was in the ring.
