Born after reading "Xander as x-com scientist" in "Alternate Halloween costumes for the xman" topic. It wasn't good because of 2 things - it do not suit Xander and even x-com scientist can't work alone - too long research time. So my version is - what if Jonathan wanted to go X-com scientist and then after seeing that Xander goes as soldier persuaded him to add x-com badge and nametag. And then persuaded Willow to go as x-com scientist by offering help with kids. Buffy desides then to drop "noble Buffy" idea and be with a flow and goes as another x-com soldier. Andrew hears that and desides that "cool scientist" stuff suit him too. Warren overheard that gang on the street and jokingly adds x-com nametag to his "mad scientist" outfit. And last but certainly not least Summers-sr smiles about "Alien Defense Group Theme", says that then she is then "head of the Base logistics and financial managment", takes one of the toy-gun "laspistols" from "Ethan's" and forgets about it. After spell hits they all became themselves... just from x-com world year 2004. Now we have
4 x-com scientist... which is fits, i could easily see any of them in x-com labs without any spell. What spell do is give them training and removes most of they psycological problems. I don't see 4 years war veteran (when aliens attack base they don't shot only in soldiers... want to live - take gun and pray that 1st line of defense on upper level will hold) and succesfull x-com scientist would try to take over Sunnydale because it's funny or recieve magic addiction... Walsh-like vibes could be problem though.
1 x-com commander with limited psy abilities (at least before 1st psy-amp) Xander... soldier-boy from original series have nothing in comarison.
1 x-com captain... Buffy suddenly have a wery good experience with guns. And proper mentality to make slaying effective.
And last but not least Joyce Summers, who suddenly have experience of kicking in ass thousand personel of x-com base, experience of black market weapon deals, experience of handling goverment officials and many, many other things. And x-com uberscientists are suck in comparison with THAT.
