XMen Evolution Question

I've been watching the XMen Evolution series recently, for the first time I might add, and something has been bugging me.

Where do the XMen get their money from? I do not mean as a group, I mean their own personal funds.

While Jean seems to be from a rich family, and the adults I assume get money from Xavier, some of the others are puzzling.

Rogue for example, unless Darkholme is paying for her stay, has no incoming income. Yet is shown buying Scott a sweater for christmas.

Scott for example only has the one brother, yet even from before learning that, he has his own personal sports car. I can tell you from experience, a male teen with a car is expensive to insure, let alone buy and operate.

So... what gives?

Thoughts?

Xavier is extremely rich, considering he can afford things like danger rooms, the Blackbird aircraft, and the above-top-of-the-line security system, as well as feeding and housing so many students, plus two adults. I assume it isn't too difficult for him to have an allowance of sorts for some of the students without families, like Kurt and Scott. Since Rogue is still Irene's ward, I don't see why Irene and Raven wouldn't have an allowance for her, if she wan't getting money from Xavier like Scott and Kurt.

Scott's car; I have the Evolution comic right here, and it clearly shows Logan driving that car when ferrying Scott into town when Scott first shows up at Xavier's. Since I can't see Logan enjoying playing taxi full time, and Scott was old enough and responsible enough, as well as Xavier's ward, I imagine Xavier just gave him the car, on the proviso he took care of it, paid for his own fuel out of his allowance, and gave the other students lifts where reasonable.

Well..

Kurt still has his surrogate family, they showed him meeting them in the christmas episode.

Evan has not only Auntie Storm, but also his mom and dad, whom they showed a couple times just in the 1st and second season.

Kitty does have a family, but am uncertain on their financial status, but they could be providing an allowance.

No clue on the junior members introduced in the 2nd season, they really are as of my watching at least mere background characters.

I guess that does leave just Rogue and Scott.

I really cannot picture Mystique/Darkholme paying for Rogue to stay at the school, and I cannot even picture some form of allowance from her.

Based off your comment, it is possible Scott having the car may be a form of payment for his somewhat leadership role in the XMen team. Not merely some allowance or something he bought.

FYI, evolution does taking into account some of the marvel universe. Scott comes from a rich family, Storm was considered a goddess by people in Africa, so she could have diamond money. Kitty's family is fairly well off in most incarnations, so they could be giving her an allowance. The school is free, Xavier is extremely rich, thus solving the Rogue boarding problem, Xavier could also give her an allowance.

Scott is an orphan, only his brother (tentatively; Havok?) is still alive, and he is a criminal in the Evolution universe I believe. Even if not, their family had it's own plane, so I assume they were rich.

Actually, Havok had a family in Hawaii (Mentioned in the episode he intro'd in). Also Scott didn't know that Alex was alive and was the only Summers which means that he was probably the only one getting any of the inheritance.

Kitty's family was pretty decently off, Kurt had a "cover" as an exchange student as well as a family that seemed well enough off.

I'd also assumed that Xavier may have been giving an allowance.

Just some comments... Currently on season episode 13 Walk on the wild side.

Very odd... it has to occur before the dance in episode 11. The sign for the dance said Sadie Hawkens in that episode, and the girls are to ask the guys. Yet here, Duncan gets tickets for that very dance (not asking Jean, just as was mentioned in passing in the prior episode), and it is stated it is next month.

Must be part of that controversy over episode order, though this is the first definitive proof of it I can recall seeing, unless the school in the same year holds 2 dances with the same motis operandi in the same year.

Also... what is with Kitty showing Amara around... I know for a fact in high school we were all left to our own devices.

Though Kitty dfressed like Ms. Deep from ROD was hilarious.

But the odd dance routine with the afterimageas like that make me think they are doing some wird summoning ceremony, or perhaps a satanic ritual.

Not all high schools leave people to their own devices, at least with people coming part way through the year.

Mine did...

If starting the year, they had a orientation a couple days before for those entering the school for the first time.

Schedules were mailed a few days before courses began.

A new person in the middle of the year would be given a schedule, told to fill out a mountain of forms, and given a tour (to match that of the orientation) by a councilor or a office page the morning starting or the day signed up, then were left to own devices.

There was also a student guidebook with the rules, regs, and dress codes.

I thought all schools did it that way.

EDIT: Here is a thought... how many people are in the Bayville High school. My graduating year, we had some 1100 students, which for my area at the time was midsized. the largers ones had 2500+.

If Bayville was small (and by looks was somewhat upper class considering percentage of snobs and preppies present), then they could afford to give that personalized care.

Bayville being a small high school is also indidicated by layout of the lunchroom, as we had far more tables present than they did in the show, and packed closer together.

Personally... I liked college worlds better than high school. High school for me was not the uber friendly super social networking environment that TV and anime make out... I hated going to school each day for all four years of it, and only a couple teachers come to mind as being really friendly.

With mine they got someone to play guide for half the day. I remember having to play guide myself a few times.

Seems dumb on the part of the school office. After all, how do they know the guide will properly represent the school, and not badmouth it or some such.

We were generally left to our own devices since it was a note that high school level individuals should be able to get around once told the simple basics.

I doubt they really give a shit at that point. By that time you have already transfered in and presumably given them money...

Mine I had a offer person give me a walk around but most of my exploration happened at the direction of other students.

I did not want to explore high school... I wanted to take my classes and get out at end of each day as fast as could...

But then... it seems I'm a rare one, I did not like high school much at all.

And as for not caring... if these parents are rich and powerful enough, and if they gave money to the school, then you generally do not want to tick them off.

Hell, I remember an incident that occured shortly after I graduated (graduated 1991, this was I think 1993 or so) that I remember reading about. It was some really rich Chicago suburb... the school was getting complaints that not only did their children not have enough room for parking their cars during the school day, but that they were too far away form the school and some were getting tickets, for when their kids parked their cars in the faculty lot. The faculty parking was closer, but smaller than the student parking. Let me reiterate, the student parking was already larger than the faculty parking.

The school, per the article, was actually going to raise funds to expand the parking lots to meet the demands of the kids and parents.

Hmmm... I have a hard time believing Wolverine is only 5 foot 3 inches tall and 232lbs... (listed in the episode named x23 in season 3)

The height is suspect considering how tall he is compared to some of the shorter members...

The weight is especially subject considering the adamantium lining him.

Groans... How many times do I see this gaff in anime and even actual TV sitcoms...

Why is it, when an alarm first goes off, and the person wakes to turn it off, they are late. Why would they all set the alarm to go off at a time that makes them late???

Worse in this case, since it is multiple students.

They must be brain dead.

My High school had you given a class schedule and basic instructions how to get to teh right areas from the office when you got your schedule..... if you got lost you had to chance asking other students how to get where your going...

A common prank on freshmen was to tell them PE was being held that day at the swimming pool on the third floor (School only had two floors.)

And thus Takerial comes in with the real solution.

The X-Men teens are secretly running a counterfeit program in the basement of the school.

Ha... good one. But...

The only teen in TAC season 1 and 2 was probably Jubilee.

I finished off Evolution some 2-3 days ago.

Currently on season 3 TAC. It is not as good as I remember it, and has some annoyances.
