Zetta vs. Dark Schneider

I have no idea where this popped up from (or if it's anywhere near the right forum, my apologies if it needs moving) but at work today the question popped up into my head: If you compared Overlord Zetta from 'Makai Kingdom' with Dark Schneider from 'Bastard!' which of the two would come out supreme? Or would the combined mass of their ego's collapse reality and doom us all?

Anyways, figured this belonged in Idea's rather than Talk cause it's likely it'll spawn an idea or three for some oneshots or crackshots. And I thoughta it as Zetta versus Dark Schneider in my head, so Games section insteada Anime/Misc.

So, thoughts?

First off, while Zetta is powerful, he's also incredibly moronic and extremely easy to manipulate (only Alexander is more dense and stupid). Also, he's not the strongest Overlord. Technically, both the Dragon Overlord Babylon (who lost like 90% of his power thanks to one of Ophelia's hissy fits) and the Dark Lord Valvoga are stronger (the latter is lower-level than Zetta, but Ophelia is technically omnipotent and intentionally limits her power to stave off boredom).

Also, going by Disgaea 2, Zenon is arguably stronger than them all, including Adell.

That said, even an Overlord would have trouble dealing with DS when he's using the Judas Paine to his fullest. I really can't tell who's going to emerge victorious, but I know who loses - everyone ELSE. :(

I always felt like the "Ophelia is The One" bit was pretty much just a joke, but Valvoga (in his complete form) is still pretty far up there.

The thing about Babylon losing most of his power is that, actually, it was Zetta who did it to him. Zetta wondered how strong Babsy must've been at the height of his power, went back in time to find out, and kicked the Dragon Overlord's ass. Babylon lost most of his power surviving his ass-kicking, and became the old lizard we met at the start. In effect, Zetta caused all that mess due to screwing around with causality.

I'd still put DS over Zetta, though.

I have no idea how to rank Zenon, though. Above Zetta, I'm sure, but I can't really place her re: Dark Schneider.

What I'd like to see is both of them going the way Laharl did in the anime; going Prinny after being killed by a generic group of "heroes" out to slay overpowered demons/beings.

Then Prinny Zetta and Prinny Schneider fight each other using the oddest collection of weapons and spells ever collected. Makes for one hell of a crack fic.

That said, I'm leaning towards Schneider.

Umm... Laharl wasn't slain. He voluntarily went through the reincarnation cycle.

If you look at levels, Zetta is the most powerful Overlord next to Baal, no questions asked. Even Zenon was lower leveled than Zetta, albeit not by much.

Now, lets see, we know that Babylon could destroy planets just by flying too close to them, and that was after he'd lost the vast majority of his power. So then, I have little doubts that Zetta would be able to destroy worlds with a thought. On the other hand, I'm not too familiar with Bastard, but I do know that DS fried a few layers of hell with a low level fire spell. In my book, planet-busting without a thought is just slightly more impressive than frying layers of hell with minor effort, so I'd have to give the power title to Zetta.

Now, when it comes to ego, Zetta just pretty much reiterates about how he's the number one bad ass overlord and is the most powerful over and over again. That seems to pale in comparison to DS's pure ego on his looks, power, intelligence, etc etc...

So, Zetta is more powerful, but Dark Schneider has more ego. Either way, the universe would collapse under their pure power and ego if they should ever meet, so it all balances out.

One thing to clarify: Baal is not an Overlord. He doesn't have a Netherworld, he's destruction incarnate. His correct title is Lord of Terror, and the games do stress how he's not an Overlord when you fight him.

Seriously, the fact he became *more powerful* after being prinnified should tell you he's not normal even by Overlord standards...

The scary thing about Baal is that, in every game, he seems to get more powerful than in his last appearance. In other words, every time he reincarnates, he becomes more and more powerful, seemingly without limit.

Lord of Terror indeed.

Becoming a prinny, however, suggests that he is, at least in part, human.

I can't wait for the day he gets his own game. It's probably even going to be before Asagi gets her own.

Or that he/she/it just breaks all the normal rules. I'm leaning towards that, since nothing else gets to be an Uber-Prinny, no way, no how.

Maybe he'll be the Big Bad in whatever game Asagi eventually stars in.

Assuming there ever is such a game. Asagi seems to have been mostly forgotten, except as an ironic joke.

Isn't it sad, Asagi? ;_;

Bad toraneko. You've got to be 'pun'ished.

That being said, by volume 23, Hell was destroyed by a fight between DS and a fallen seraphim, as COLLATERAL DAMAGE. Hell itself. That count as way badass, destroying a dimension by way of collateral damage. World destroying kinda seems lacking after this one...

But yeah, both DS and Zetta going at it would likely create a black hole due to the density of awesomeness found in one point.

To be fair, it wasn't ALL of Hell, he only wiped out the upper five strata of it (out of nine).

Butr given how Hell is implied to be the huge black hole at the center of the Universe, that's still a hell of a lot of damage, especially given how earlier, DS vaporized the supposedly un-meltable ice covering the lake Cocytus with a (relatively speaking) low level fire spell...

Ack...

Seeing you sig, I just had the idea of DS being dumped in the Claymore universe.

Him seeing Riful in her Awakened form ?

"Kinky. I like that. :snigger: "
