Naruto Accidental World Tour

Insomnia is a helluva drug. I've been awake for the past 40some hours, and it's given me a lot of time to come up with some weird plot ideas while trying to fall asleep. One of them was this:

During their three year vacation, Jiraiya decides Naruto is ready to learn Hiraishin. But first he has to put Naruto through a lot of chakra control training. Naruto, being the stubborn and brash kid he is, quickly decides that the chakra training is a waste of time and steals the Hiraishin scroll from Jiraiya while he's sleeping. After memorizing the scroll, Naruto gives it a try, and vanishes.

What Naruto doesn't know is that when Minato first become Hokage, he and Jiraiya secretly planted hundreds of Hiraishin seals all over the Elemental Continent, to be used (mainly) for emergency situations where Minato would have to be somewhere as quickly as possible. So now, without proper chakra control, every time Naruto tries to use the Hiraishin in an attempt to get back either to Jiraiya or to Konoha, he winds up reappearing randomly at one of those long forgotten seals around the world.

Now then, I'm not planning on making this very long, but that could change depending on how things turn out. I have a few scenes already in mind, but what I'd like is for a few more suggestions from you guys on where Naruto might accidentally appear, who he might meet, and so forth.

Also, what does Jiraiya do when he realizes what happened? I'm thinking he either; A: Knows the Hiraishin and tries (in vain) to track Naruto down that way, or B: Doesn't know Hiraishin and has to find another way of tracking him down, hopefully without Tsunade finding out so she doesn't ream him big time for letting this happen. Personally, I think B would be the more likely choice, but A would probably be funnier.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Do I desperately need sleep?

Hmm, could be interesting. Couple questions, though...first off, what do you view as happening if the seal is partially covered or buried? Will the technique not summon him there, will he exchange places with whatever's there, will whatever's there get pushed away as Naruto arrives, or the two occupy the same space, causing severe problems probably only surivivable thanks to Kyuubi regeneration? And secondly, can he take items or people along with him, either by accident or purposefully?

Personally, I'm imagining him winding up accidentally saving Yugito, possibly dragging her along for a few hops, as well as accidentally headbutting Itachi and vanishing, pulling a couple eat-and-runs at various ramen places, having an intense jan-ken-po tournament against Tobi, falling into the female side of the hotsprings (the Youndaime was a pervert? No way! ...though in reality, it was probably there before the hotsprings, though you could handle it either way), and taking the opportunity to...redecorate...Kankuro's puppets when he winds up in his workshop, and possibly landing in the Hyuuga estate...

Just a few thoughts.

My feeling is that if a seal were to be buried or in some way physically unreachable, then Naruto would simply appear as close to the seal as possible. Like if a seal were placed in or on the ground and then a house was built on top of it, then Naruto would appear inside the house above the seal. Likewise if it were placed inside a wall or something similar, he'd just appear right next to it. I don't think I'd like to deal with the matter of Naruto appearing INSIDE a solid structure, that just seems messy no matter how you look at it. And of course, if the seal were somehow damaged, then he wouldn't be able to use it.

As for bringing people and things along with him, I'd say as long as he could carry them, then I don't see why not. And the hotsprings part wouldn't be so odd, seeing as Jiraiya helped him plant some of the seals. :p

Thanks for the ideas.

Ah, see, I had this mental image of Naruto, when trying to pull a ramen shop eat and run, having either a random customer, the owner, or a waitress getting dragged along, either because they had insane reflexes (no eat and runs while I'm around!), or just by accident (whoops! Tripped!). Now, they're sticking to Naruto like glue, either to get the money out of him (you owe me, dammit!), so they can get somewhere they actually recognize (like hell you're going to just abandon me in the middle of nowhere!), or just because they're scared (waaah! It's so scary! *clinging to Naruto's arm*).

Also thought it might be amusing to have Yugito get dragged along, having her either get rescued by Naruto, or randomly winding up along, either because she's the customer, or she wound up tripping and latching onto him at the wrong time, or she thought he was a suspicious individual in the middle of Kumo...hmm, just a thought.

And yes, the mental image of Naruto appearing right in front of Itachi and accidentally or reflexively headbutting him, realizing what he's done, and vanishing again amuses me greatly. :snigger:

Another random thought...what if Naruto winds up in the bowels of one of the greatest ramen warehouses in the Elemental Countries? Or, perhaps, his father's secret ramen vault (or hell, maybe his mom's...never know, after all, Naruto's supposed to act like her)...could always run across some of his notes or something if you'd like to add that in.

But yes, this idea has much potential for silliness, and I'd like to see what gets done with it. :sisi:

He should appear in random other places as well that's not in the EC. Crossover Opportunities?

It'd be funny if, after a certain number of random landings, Naruto's taken to use a fairly well-known saying of the Eternally Lost Boy, ie: "Where the hell am I now!?"

Best place to put one of the seals? On top of a colossus from Shadow of the Colossus.

Naruto of course assumes it is an earth quake or something.

My Tremor-fu is STILL weak but I nominate Burt Gummer's house as one of the seal locations.

----

Naruto: "Great, where the heck am I (Graboid appears) Whatthefuckwasthat?!?"

Burt Gummer: "Minato/Arashi/(whatever you want to call him)? Is that you? When did you shrink? Help me blow up these damn things again! They're everywhere!"

----

...yeah.

If you include this, it might be best if Naruto's first use was actually where he wante to go.

Through sheer coincidence, Naruto Hiraishins to Konoha, and decides to get bowl of Ichiraku ramen. He brags about his new technique to Ayame, and when she doubts/teases him about it, he says he'll prove it to her by taking her with him.

And since he hasn't really mastered it... well, at least he can eat ramen whenever he wants now...

Ayame needs more character development!

How about a scene with Naruto inadvertently being the reason Iwagakure voids attacking Konoha?

Just have Naruto, and a possible unwanted passenger, end up teleporting inside the Tsuchikage's own office when one person there says the words that Darwin loves to hear. "If there is any reason why we shouldn't attack Konoha while its still weak, may the gods strike me down!" And after a minor pause, and everyone thinking nothing is going to happen, Naruto and the uninvited guest appears in a Yellow flash above the poor ninja's head and landing on him, only for Naruto to immediately to use Hiraishin again to get away from his crazy creepy passenger. All the Iwa-nins see is a Yellow Flash, two people with Blonde hair landing on the speaker, the sight of a Konoha Headband, and another Yellow Flash which leaves behind an extra person.

His passenger? The missing-nin Diedra formerly of Iwagakure. Iwagakure did not have a pleasent day after that.

The reason why Iwagakure did not attack Konoha when it was weak? Rumors of the Yellow Flash still being alive helped alot, along with the knowledge Konoha could simply pop in, drop behind a huge bomb, and leave. They still don't know where the could be located, despite ripping apart the Kage's Office, and most of the town. Sadly, its just a misplaced Marked Kunai of Yondaime's that Iwa attempted to study, and then ended up molded into the ceiling of the office due to Rock molding techniques for construction.

This look very close to JUMPER movie, except for the jumping seals around the world, startng from this idea, how about the Fourth and Naruto (his son) being jumpers and those seals around the world are just training spots left by the Fourth Hokage to help other jumpers learn and understand their powers.....

Can you imagine if there was a place that USED to be there, and is now underneath a lake/river? Then... I wonder what happens if you use Hiraishin in water? Electrocuting everything in sight because the Hiraishin converts the person into lightning-elemental chakra??

Or maybe Naruto Hiraishins in, sees himself standing in the middle of a river, rolls his eyes, then Hiraishins out...

But what if... there was a <insert female character in distress (I haven't watched much of Naruto, only read the manga to VoE, so don't know many characters)> who swam over a river with kidnappers on her tail. She's out of energy, praying to ANY sort of Kami to come and save her.

Then as soon as the kidnappers jump into the water, Naruto Hiraishins in. He completely misses the damsel staring at him from behind a tree, and the kidnappers who were electrocuted behind him (this could be near rapids, so he dismisses the twitchy splashing as nothing to worry about), and then Hiraishins out.

Cue extremely grateful woman who escapes kidnapping/rape/etc, and thinking Naruto is a kami in disguise or something...

Hmm.. I'm sure people can figure out other sorta similar situations, of Naruto coming in and obliviously saving people as he teleports madly across the Elemental Countries...

Naruto GT?

Whenever I think of this idea I keep hearing the DBGT Theme.

"Take Grand Tour, Grand Tour..."

"Take Grand Tour, Grand Tour..."

"Take Grand Tour, Grand Tour... NARUTO... G. T!"

Don't kill me... It's pretty early here and I haven't had my morning coffee yet...

Perhaps the title could be "Where in the World is Uzumaki Naruto?"

that has me thinking of a Carmen Sandeigo Naruto abusing Hirashin to the fullest

But there's no fun in using Hirashin to get away.

Yes there is, but the premise of the idea thus far is not getting out of trouble using Hiraishin, it's getting into trouble, aquiring some unwitting passengers, getting out of trouble and back into trouble all over again.

And let us not forget that Hirashin is the ultimate jutsu for an eat and run.

...

Hmm, there's a crack fic about Minato in there somewhere...invented the Hirashin to perform the ultimate eat and run! And hey, it turned out to have some other useful applications...just coincidentally. :snigger:

Seems more like Genma Saotome then Yondaime, but...Hmm. Brainflash.

Amazons? Funny, sexy ones, not scary "You will marry and breed Superbabies of DOOM!!!!! Or die..." ones.

I can easily see Naruto accidentally picking up a harem of scary, lovely kunoichi.

Hey, it's not like we really know anything about Minato except his appearance and that he was insanely strong...after all, it's been said that Naruto got his personality from his mother, sooooo...he could be like anything, really.

Personally, I don't think it needs crossing over with anything, but I suppose that's up to Legendary. Or anyone else that wants to do something based off of this.

Whats the time travel fic with the Ramen crazed, hyperactive Kusina? It's the sealing story, correct?

Anyways, I think Naruto inherited his fathers smile at least, going by the flshback scene where Minato and Kusina chose Naruto's name.

The Hiraishin working similiar to the way 'jumping' works (from Jumper), would be awesome.

For one that movie/book provides, what I think to be, an awesome counter for the Hiraishin. Tangle him up in an electrified cable, and then anchor the cable to the ground. He won't be able to 'jump' the whole world, so hes stuck.

For the person that asked about Naruto jumping into a river and then out?

In the movie Jumper, when you jumped out of water, you bring some of it back with you. the amount depends on the amount of power you put in your jump.

I don't think I'm gonna go with the Xover ideas, mainly because I don't really want this story getting too long, so I think keeping Naruto in his own world will be enough. But the eat-and-run ideas have some merit to them.

I never got around to seeing Jumper, so I have no real knowledge of how the 'Jumping' ability works. But from what I saw in the previews I can kinda see the connection.

@rianifitria: Not familiar with Make a Wish.

Pretty much, yep. ^_^

Anywho, I think I've got enough ideas to run with this now. I'll start posting snippets either later today or tomorrow, depending on whether or not I can finally get more than 2-3 hours of sleep in the meantime.
