Leon groans and rolls over, moving one hand to cover his face. After a moment he clutches at the sand with his hand before opening his eyes. "How did... oh. Bugger."

Sitting up he looks around at the rest of you. "Uh... what happened? Last thing I remember was the deck breaking open..." He starts brushing sand off of his mantle.

(Zerohour: don't forget that you can memorize and cast "Purify Food and Water" and "Create Water" so it'd probably be a good idea to mention this in front of everyone else in character.)

(edit: used the wrong word.)

A look to Leon.

"You were unconcious for most of the time since we found you, some of the others are scouting around while we secure this area as a temporary camp, sifting through the wreckage of the ship, off in the distance is that Island, surrounded by 3 spires facing it, each with a Giant Skull atop it, we are attempting to find out if the locals are friendly or not before we draw attention to ourselves hopefully."

A pause for breath and a fingertip to her lip as she thinks.

"Oh yes, you proabably want to check to make sure all of your items are in the best shape and not water damaged, if you are well enough? There is still a lot of work to do, salvaging and setting up camp, we still need to find a local source of potable water and if anything can be used to stretch our food supplies, until as I said, we find a local settlement friendly to our needs."

She nods her head and then introduces herself.

"I am called Jee, what is your name?"

Don't worry about water, I can take care of that. Just need until tomorrow to get the correct spell.

Food might be a bit more of a problem, though I can purge any undesirable qualities before we dine.

"If you can take care of our water problems, at least for drinking, I do not forsee many more problems, Do you count the skills and spells of the clergy among your talents?"

A slight pause before adding.

"As to you being able to purge undesirable flavors from any food we do manage to make, I think you may be nominated as the group's cook perhaps."

(just a heads up, SotF has allowed me to drop 1 Dex and get 2 Cha, I figured that i didn't want a penalty hanging over my head with my feat choices.)

"uh... I'm Leon," Leon said after boggling at the sudden load of information. "So... no ship? That's not, uh, very good news." His need to state the obvious would be more offensive if it wasn't clear that he wasn't old enough to need to shave every day.

"My bag..." he looks around and seeing that it has been retreived for him starts digging through it. "I have some food in here," he said. "And it looks like the wrappings are intact." After a couple of minutes he has his bedroll and spare clothes spread out to dry as he checks the various more fragile items they were wrapped around. "Nothing seems broken but I don't relaly carry much in the way of survival gear I'm afraid," he says, looking woebegone.

(sometime today or tomorrow is my best guess, SotF's brother borrowed the books for his own game, and i'm guessing he accidently took the major notes with him including exactly what all our Searching revealed.)

edit: ("i'm guessing he accidently" his brother did take them, i'm just saying that i don't know if it was accidental or not. this is the reason he didn't update yesterday, right now he's probably at work or asleep or a mixture of the two.)

A once over of Leon.

"Not much for survival gear? Well! Concider this your lucky day as you get a first hand lesson in a school everyone enrolls in at some point in their life. 'Hard Knocks U', or that it what one of my more educated and experienced instructors told me, He told me to 'Be Prepared' when life attempts to subdue you, I am sure we can scrounge togther something for you, if the others are willing and if we get lucky finding something from the scavenging."

Note: I had this next part rather extended but I'd handwritten it while elsewhere and the page got messed up, so it is a bit choppy. End Note

Amongst the wreckage you find a handful of items that stick out from the rest.
  • Jesse:
    • Crystal of Return (Magic Items Compendium, pg 65)
    • Crystal of Adamant Weaponry (Least) (Magic Items Comendium, pg 64)
  • Leon: Dawn Summoner's Pendant (See Below)
  • Jee +1 Keen Combat Gloves (See Below)
  • Morgan:
    • Ring of Featherfall
    • Ring of Spiderclimb
  • Naktar: Quivver of Andariel (Wizards.com)
  • Ashrael: Ring of the Three Shadows (See Below)

Dawn Summoner's Pendant
An amulet that effects the ability to summon creatures.
Benefit: When using summoning spells with a variable number of creatures summoned, they are treated as Maximized.

Combat Gloves
Combat gloves grant a +2 to Unarmed Strike and increase the Threat range of the wearers Unarmed Strike by 1. These enhansements may be increased by enchantments and the increased threat range stacks with those provided by abilities such as Keen.

Ring of the Three Shadows
Your cleric level is treated as 3 higher for the purposes of your Turn/Rebuke attempts. Further you may use Turn/Rebuke 3 additional times per day.

You hear something moving in the jungle.

(a couple of things, Terrabull=Jee. I have no idea what those two items do nor do i have that book available so could you let me know what they do? and do you want to back time up to just a bit before i left with Morgan?
edit: i also tried to look up Naktar's quiver but couldn't find it.)

edit2: just got back from Barnes+Noble, so i know what the crystals are now. I'll keep the Returning Crystal attached to my Greatbow and put the Adamant one away in my Belt Pouch for the moment.

still couldn't find anything on the quiver though.

I put on the ring, sling my shield over my back, move closer to the ocean, and pull out my bow.

(Shield not equipped, but ready to be equipped if I enter melee)

I tug on the reins on my mount and my horse comes to a stop and then a turn towards my comrade.

"Did you hear that?" I say and look behind me. We were barely a stone-throw or two away from the rest of the party and I could see everyone back at camp focusing their attention at something in the general direction of the jungle.

In the distance I could see the dwarf holding his bow with an arrow resting on the bowstring while the rest of the party was making similar preperations.

"Somethings up! Lets go!" I say and manouvre my mount around.

"Patches! Come!" *I draw my Greatbow, replace the Returning Stone with the Adamant, put the Returning Stone in my pouch, and nock an Arrow in case i need to make a shot.*

Jee slides down, crouching behind some of the wreckage and camping gear gathered to gain some partial cover next to Naktar the dwarf and the young lad Leon, Quarterstaff at the ready, and to cover him in case what is in the jungle rushes him for melee range. (It could happen?) Most of her gear is still unpacked within her Haversack.

Nearby is the campfire, lit with a pot filled with water, heating up.

Leon rolls behind the nearest cover that he can find, taking his crossbow with him. He lies on his back to draw the string back and slots a bolt into place before rolling over and rising to one knee to aim the crossbow towards the jungle.

Benefit: When using summoning spells their duration is maximized.
While I hardly claim exhaustive knowledge, the Summoning spell I have and the derivatives I'm familiar with all have a duration of rounds equal to caster level so this item would have no effect.

Dropping the rations i was about to eat i reach over to grab my bow and keep a hand on my quiver ready to draw an arrow.

Note: The Quiver of Andariel is basically an endless supply of normal arrows. They only last for 2 rounds after being drawn from the Quiver though.

"STEVIE!!! SMITE THE HEATHEN!!!"

Just kidding. :D

I climb on one of Stevie's heads, tell him to go back into the Ocean (keeping the head I'm on above water) and settle in for a night's sleep.

Stevie is to kill anyone that comes near.
