Just finished watching an Alien Force episode in which the group battles Zombified girls with the help of a handsome young man with energy blast powers. Funny thing is, Gwen seems to fall for him, though as the episode goes on she grows more and more tired the longer she's near him, and he grows stronger. In fact he gains a gold glow and sparkles as he uses his abilities.
It is later revealed that he's an energy vampire and is the one who turned those girls (and Gwen) into Zombie's by draining them of their energy. Gwen knocks him around takes her powers back then hands him over to his former tween fanclub who proceed to rip their essence from his struggling body.

Do you get the impression the writers are attempting to make some kind of comment here?
