Okay, how the fuck did I miss it? I put in those exact filters, so what the fuck?

Anyway, that was the one I was looking for, so thanks.

If you put in those four tags there is only one entry, and it's a different story.

So... question.

Anyone knows any fanfiction of note set in the AU depicted in the anime ending "Stay Beautiful" (generic modern American city in which Barragan is a mob boss, the traitor captains police officers, Don Kanonji a superhero and so on)?

That does sound like a cool AU setting. I second this.

The closest I got is this:
Temperance by pyrat-xo
Summary: It's 1927 in New York City and the Wandering Souls speakeasy has it rough on the border of Chinatown and Little Italy. Life's a very funny proposition, after all. Prohibition-era gangster AU.

Protégé by black.k.kat.

Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni is, at heart, an old man who likes his tea prepared a certain way and has a soft spot for talented youngsters. His latest fledgling seems to be one Kurosaki Ichigo, substitute soul reaper. (Alternatively, a story in which Yamamoto is a crafty old man, Ichigo grows up to be utterly terrifying, and Aizen doesn't stand a chance.)

That was a pretty sweet read. Ichigo taking over Aizen's division has its symbolism, as well.

She's working on something else, though it's a bit too early to really gauge.

The final lesson: Pass down the torch of Old Man Genocide (welp, had to get that one out of the way)

Said lesson involves a field trip to Hueco Mundo. Objective?

Kill. Everything.

A Grudge Not Held
AU. Three men never find Rangiku. Because they never find Rangiku, she is never harmed. Because Rangiku is not hurt, Gin does not swear vengeance. Because Gin does not swear vengeance, he never joins Aizen. This is a tale how Gin's allegiances remain with the Gotei 13, and the consequences it produces, both good and bad.

I've read most of that before, it's a pretty chill story. Speaking of Gin, I like The Striking Snake which basically follows a switcharoo of Gin and Ichigo. Gin is...not so much more bloodthirsty than Ichigo is, but he's considerably more ruthless (he actually ends up killing a considerable number of Shinigami in SS). And I absolutely adore his interactions with Shinso.

Not too bad, but I don't really care for the way they altered Ichigo's personality. I would think he would oppose Aizen, simply being hotheaded and honorable like he is. He seems to be more canon Gin than himself.

Or maybe he truly does oppose Aizen and the author has been pulling a reverse twist on us.

Either way, I'm following it.

Maybe it's zeebee1's secret FFN identity?

...Nah! zeebee1, write more than 3 sentences at a time?!

Aizen should have looked into other reasons as to why Karakura was the "town of the empty seat (throne)". Ichigo just wanted to make sure that June 17th never happened again. Shiranui just wanted a decent priest and Celestial Envoy.

This is pretty unique take on things in 'bleach that not a lot of people have read

Careful now, BNJ, two posts in two hours? You wouldn't want to exceed your daily lurker limit :p

Not a fan of blocky paragraphs right off the bat and hearing a nine-year old Ichigo say "And I had vowed to myself..." and"He's been broken ever since" made me twitch. It also seems like the prologue isn't Ichigo and Shiranui's first meeting which seems an odd, less interesting choice.

But I've been in a Bleach mood recently so I shall endeavor, despite knowing little about its crossovers. ^_^

Edit: Or not. I feel like this guy's trying hard to cram in lots of info which disrupts the story's flow and makes it a chore to read.

Yeah. Even in the second chapter I just started scrolling anytime explanations started. DON'T care about all the nuances of calligraphy. Too much terminology, not enough actual plot.
