First take a look at this, & this and this one.
Done? Good, let's get rolling.
Let's start with the good.
Yay! More STAR WARS, WOOO!!!!
No Ewoks! (Dances a jig)
Clone Troopers & Jedi Kicking Butt across the galaxy! (Cabbage Patching ensues)
All right that takes care of the fanwank, on to the more serious stuff. I am honestly hopeful that we will get to see more and more of Palpatine slowly drawing Anakin into line with his way of thinking. The Prequels only hinted at the conversations they must've had to bring Anakin to the point where he trusted Palpatine more than the council and Obi-wan.
I'm also looking forward to seeing the friendship between the Anakin & obi-wan. I mean in the beginning of "Revenge of the Sith" those two were essentially the dynamic duo. Working together I'd give them odds on taking the Emperor. Afterall Yoda on lost because of that last exchange of force power. Betwen Anakin's power and Obi-wan's wisdom, you've got a team that I sure as heck would not want to face if I were a Sith Lord. Hence the Emperor arranging for Obi-wan to be gone at a critical moment, no sense in having someone around who might bring Anakin back to his senses before he'd fallen to far.
Of course watching the Clone Wars themselves unfold will be fun. I mean this is the time when Storm...ehem Clone Troopers were the hand of justice in the old republic. Swooping in to save world's and civilizations from the Droid armies of the CIS, with the Jedi at their head.
No on to the bad. Lucas is involed which could present a problem. Lucas is a great idea man, his concepts for most of his movies are stellar. However he has trouble with the execution of his ideas. I mean Empire & Jedi were directed by someone else, each one taking his concepts and turning them into a great film. Also, Lucas has a slight problem with continuity. He will retcon something just to make the stry more interesting (See Leia's statments about her mother) which can be infuriating at times.
Well, I have more to say but my time is up, so I'm curious what you all think about the series?
