How about another SMT series, like Nocturne? Something where he's fighting things more around his level?
Or, if all else, just scale down his power level.
It's less of "scale down" and more of "savagely rape", honestly.
I mean, the protag of SMT1 is basically a normal high schooler (or something. Pretty sure he still lived with his mom) who's advantages over Ranma amount to the Devil Summoning Program and being able to easily buy guns with infinite bullets. And he ends up... well, doing the MegaTen thing. Just about the only problem he'd really have being dumped into the later midgame of most MegaTen games is that enemies start acquiring physical immunities.
To be completely fair, the main character in SMT1 is a normal highschooler who can CAVE MINOR GODS' FACES IN by endgame. With pure physical power, even.
You know you are fucking overpowered when you can 2HKO Beelzebub and are stronger, faster and tougher than several pantheons of gods.
SMT2, however... the main is a genetically engineered Messiah meant to be as close to a perfect human specimen as possible, has cybernetic implants and kills GOD. Not just a wannabe God like Saffron, either, GOD God.
And Nocturne just gets silly. The Demi-fiend could stomp the entire Ranma cast at analogue points in time (ie, early Demifiend vs. early Ranma, endgame Demifiend vs, endseries Ranma) simply because he's been demonized, and is far, far more powerful than any human at all.
As for Persona 3: main problem is Ranma can't do shit if he lacks a Persona - Shadows can only really be harmed by someone who HAS a Persona active, the rest get killed or worse. And having a Persona puts him on the same level as anyone else, especially given how fucking broken bosses later on get, and how everyone and their mom in the endgame resists physicals, which in P3 *includes* ki-based-type attacks.
I'm not even touching Minato, Nyx and especially Elizabeth. Or The Answer's Aigis, for that matter.
