They have just announced it. Check out Blizzard's website.

They had a couple of splash screens this entire week that showed ice melting and a face behind it. There was a lot of speculation as to what it was.

Unfortunately, the page gives a 404 error when clicking on the flash image.

Hmm, looks like they're keeping the Barbarian, but the Necromancer's been redone into the Witch Doctor, it seems...wonder if they'll be adding any more classes, or if it'll just be the regular seven, revamped and redone?

Ah, well. Either way, it ought to be good.

According to the FAQ, it will only be 5 classes, but only the barbarian and witchdoctor has been revealed.

Wait, you guys are surprised? They bought the sute name DiabloIII.com about four months ago.

That said, I'm getting this two years after it comes out, to keep my policy of never paying over $30 for a game.

Now maybe the first 2 will finally drop from the $20 price tag.

What kind of shops do you people have? I bought Diablo 1+2 for 15 after losing my original D2 copy ^_^

Had to dig real fucking deep to find this one.

Anyways, Mike Morhaime just <a href='http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/blog/3002244#blog' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>confirmed</a> that Diablo 3 will be released in early 2012.

They've also put up the online <a href='http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>item database</a>, and as usual with Blizzard, they manage some <a href='http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/pigpimples-crucio' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>lulz</a> too.

You really should have just made a new topic for it.

But I am really looking forwards to D3 I grew up playing 2. It is probably my most looked forward to game since Starcraft 2.

You could get the original Diablo for the Playstation. Diablo on console is nothing new.

I'm sadly serious. And you could get the original starcraft on N64 as well. It sucked ass, and the PC one was awesome. I doubt that relationship will hold here.

Actually, I think I read something about whoever makes Diablo testing it on consoles to se how it would work. Not sure if it was just a rumor, but it's possible. Oh, and what's the situation about having to always have an internet connection to play it? Did they back off? If not, I'm not buying the thing.

Why wouldn't diablo work on consoles again? Especially diablo 3?

What with the fact that you have at most, what, 8 skills, that's easily all of a controller's face buttons.

Not to mention, I'm pretty sure they made the design choice to avoid spells that are click to target. Not sure where I heard that one, but it supports a console crowd.

Couple things about the game as I'm playing it now: Playing on the 360 version and am having a hell of a time getting Chiltara to drop the gibbering gemstone for Whimsyshire. I want to get in there and get Spectrum for transmog. I also want a Shard of Hate for transmog, but nobody on here has it on 360, most likely, and wouldn't be able to give me it if they did.

I'm going to level my crusader as a tank with the goal of being nearly unstoppable. I have a lvl 70 demon hunter if anyone wants to play on 360.

Sadly, my characters aren't even up to handling Torment yet. Much less anything special, if seasons are special.

The only difference between normal gameplay and Seasons is that in Seasons, you start from scratch, as if you never played before. So no Paragons, no maxed Artisans, no Followers, etc). It all has to be unlocked again.

The saving grace is, of course, if you have Adventure Mode, which will unlock your Artisans and Followers (though you still need to build them back up). Otherwise, playing the Season is the same as playing the normal game.

Once the season ends, your Seasonal characters will be converted to a normal character. They'll get access to all the normal things, like your previously-acquired Paragons, etc, and anything you unlocked in the Season that you didn't in the normal game (achievements, higher Paragon levels, artisan unlocks, transmog designs, blacksmith plans, etc) will also get transferred over to your normal game.

Seasons DO have unique items that don't appear in the normal game, but those unique drops will be put into the normal drop tables at the end of the season. The only thing you have a chance to lose is the exclusive transmog plan that each season will let you unlock. To get that, you only need to reach level 70 with a seasonal character. That's fairly easy in Adventure Mode; my brother and I are 5 levels away from it.

Finally gave in and picked it up yesterday for the PS3. How do you join the Seasons?

Create a new character and select the checkbox for it, like you would for Hardcore characters. Seasonal characters are denoted by a green leaf symbol, like how Hardcore characters are denoted by a black and red skull symbol. And yes you can have a Seasonal Hardcore character.
