I'm willing to run a short game if SoTF doesn't, though I won't be able to do one for a while, as I will be out on vacation as of this weekend (going to Japan on a tour, which stops at the Tokyo Game Show), so no internet for a while, likely.

personnally, i'd hold off on that section until SOTF logs in, going by yesterday he'll be on by the time the post clock reaches 6:00 AM

That's why I said if he doesn't. He's already said he would though, but I did want to reply to voidseeker's post regarding me offering. B)

If there was a site that someone could link me that would let me make a character sheet, I might want to play... I haven't played in years. Like, about 9 years now, and I've been kinda wanting to play again.

And if I did, I'd have no problem being a cleric.

But, I'd definitely need a way to make a character card (something like the Core Rules program, I'd imagine... just accessible without downloading) before I'd even think of saying yes.

a good site is:
www.emass-web.com

better and more complete than a standard sheet.

Ah.

I was hoping for more of something along the lines of a character creator setup, because I'm without dice, and I don't know any rules past 2nd edition.

Not sure if this is what you might want. PC Profiler is a program used to make a character sheet. If you want stuff like rules, there's the d20 SRD which is linked in the first page by SoTF. There's also Crystal Keep which has a different organization of stuff not only core but from splatbooks. Probably not recommended if you play a core rules only game.

Just so we have an idea of who is and wants to play can you post with the class you wish to be we already have:

Me: Fighter
Voidseeker: Ranger
Zerohour (mentioned he was going to make one previously, class ?)
I'm debating between wizard, necromancer, and necromancer/cleric/true necromancer.

Do i get to have skeleton minions from the start? Because it would be harder to create an army of skeleton hydra if I have to collect them one by one.

Since you seem to be interested in undead stuff, a splatbook class to also consider is "Dread Necromancer" from the book "Heroes of Horror" if you're allowed. It'll have a lot of what you want, I think.

I've got Libris Mortis, so I'm fine.

Do we know what level we're starting at yet?

I'm leaning towards playing a sorcerer or possibly a wu jen, depending rulings of our DM

looks like DMing will fall on Kayeich, I'd prefer to wait and give SOTF another day but i also want to get the methods we'll use set-up, that way when we're all ready to play we can just play. So Kayeich could you get everything started up?

SoTF was listed as being on the board around 4 hours ago, maybe he just didn't get a chance to post yet. I say wait for him.

Remember, I mentioned I will be going on vacation soon, so while I can post stuff like houserules now, a game wouldn't start until at the very least, the last weekend of September (which I belive hits the 29th/30th), as that is when I'd first get a chance to run a game.

Unless you think you'll need 2 weeks to make your character sheets, then I suppose that's fine.

I hope it isn't too late to join in? I call Rogue if anyone hasn't already.

it's not too late to join in we're still waiting on SOTF.

Edit: To Recap:

Me: Fighter
Voidseeker: Ranger
Zerohour: either wizard, necromancer, and necromancer/cleric/true necromancer
Terrabull: Monk
Drakensis: a sorcerer or possibly a wu jen
Xerxezz: Rogue

Naw, count me out.

I just don't enough rules to make a character these days, nor do I feel the desire to read up on all the sourcebooks necessary.

That, and none of the sites anyone gave had quite what I was looking for : (.

I guess I was spoiled by the Core Rules computer program.

ah well, guess we'll have to get by with days of rest and the "Heal" skill.

...you guys do know you don't need a cleric right? A wand of cure light wounds can be used by a class that has the spell in its spell list even if they're not high enough level to have the spell (such as the ranger which you have) or a class with "Use magic device" skill if they beat a DC 20 roll (such as a rogue which you have).

A wand of cure light wounds is also the best way to get healing done too, since even if you have a cleric, using up spells for healing means you have that many spells less to use if you face another encounter during the same day in game time.

edit: admittedly, they're both kinda hard to use if you're level 1. But then, everything is hard at level 1.

Depending on the starting level, I'll have cleric levels, and True Necromancer lets me get increased casting as a wizard and cleric.
