Well, this is a thread for sharing pics or videos of your favorite video game attacks.

I'll start with my personal favorite:

Freya's Ether Strike in VP... this is what Naruto's new Rasengan should have been, not that lame fart shuriken thing. -_-

How many favourites can a fella have, GH? Here are a handful off the top of my head:

Jowy Atreides' Black Sword Rune magics - specifically Hungry Fiend, but any of the lesser spells are awesome, too. ^_^

Anything Lord Zetta does is also a favourite, but the Zetta Beam takes the biscuit. :snigger:

From DMC, Vergil's Lunar Phase or Judgment Cut are also very, very sweet. Ditto for Summoned Swords.

If anime-based video games qualify, I'll also throw in Byakuya's Senkei and Shukei formations, because a thousand floating pink swords are cool, and the sword/wings/owned motif is also unspeakably squee.

Bosch's Snakebite/Lion Smash/Kirin Flight are awesome, too. You could own most of the game with just his moves. (Fuck you, Capcom. You suck for not giving us Bosch or giving Ryu the Beast Blade skills.) Also, Quint Wake. Not only will it kill you, it will float in front of you menacingly beforehand just to rub it in. And Vexacion only has one freakin' eye! (/BOF fanboy)

I think that's me, for the minute. Undoubtedly, I'll be back.

Personally, I find D-Dive itself awesome. And I do admit that first time I did it, I tried D-Breath to 100% just to see the damage pile up...

You know, if you really want to see the damage pile up, you need to first use D-Charge. Because it works on D-Breath too.

Overkill attacks: Absolute End aka KotR of FFVII. Nothing says quite "PLEASE DIE" like repeated assault from lolknights of giantness.

Basic attacks: Hmm.... ahh, yes... yeeesssss >: ). Inasmuch as it is basic, the Unite Attack of Riou and Jowy. It's the singlemost broken early-game move I've seen so far. Come on, 1.5x damage to all enemies..... *drool*

Eh, I like Squall's Lionheart, myself - even though it's not the greatest attack ever. Shockwave Pulsar I also like, despite it's relative lack of damage.

Shockwave Pulsar is the only single-hitting attack that breaks 9999 damage, though. It's no Lionheart, but is perfect to mop up random battles.

Game Over from Cait Sith's slots limit break, because that was how I beat the weapons. No long and complicated battle strategies for me, just keep trying until I got Game Over.

My favorite? I'd have to say Link's flying sword from the first Zelda. I've been mad since OoT because it hasn't been included.

It was included in Majora's Mask, albeit in a limited way.

My favorite?

Not only does the enemy get killed by a friggin' book, but he even laughs at them about it.

Also, it sounds hilarious in Japanese.

Ramza's Scream. While not technically an attack, the power of Hot Blood pushing the limits of the body is just awesome.

The Hunter's Satellite Cannon in Metal Saga. He presses a few buttons, and then a giant beam of light obliterates the enemies on the ground. The fact that you could technically use it an infinite number of times in a battle (while expensive) certainly was amusing.

Data Drain - from the Dot Hack Series. Also, any of the Divine Awakenings from GU.

Agreed! I noticed today that the Seiyuu holds the phrase a lot longer than the VA did. Hillarious. Also, I've seen people argue about Laharl versus Adell 'til they were blue in the face, but Zetta owns them both with no effort. Even when he's the Sacred Tome. :snigger:

(Still...Crispin, Crispin, where fore art thou, Crispin?) :blue:

I've gotta say there's just something about Cloud's Braver that does it for me.

Also Squall's giant energy sword one. (I forget the name)

And Zell: Final Heaven (WTF!! value)

Apart from that...Dance magic from Michael Jackson's Moonwalker.

Shamed, I know...

Can't think of much at the moment (I'm in a hurry), but here are a few.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiPEHu_IjaM

There's something about Jinx's fighting style I just like. Especially Jinxed (he's that short, he isn't touching you, and he can still slap you around and throw you) and Quicksilver (now you see me, now you see the floor).

I'd also like to add Priere's first special technique, from La Pucelle Tactics.

It says a lot about a game character when their first learned special technique is a GROIN SHOT.

Even now I still have soft spot for Iori's Ya Otome.
"Asobi wa owari da! Nake! Sakebe! Soshite shine!"

A Classic. :hail:

In addition to this one, I like Gill's Meteor Strike and Seraphic Wing from Street Fighter III, although I prefer the quote for the latter.

"Let me be your messenger of death."

Never have I seen a final boss fried so quickly as with...

Fallen Wings

Sky Dragon Slash

and White Apocalypse.

Bastard never saw it coming.

Let's also not forget, despite it's slightly Voltron-ish-ness, Erde Kaiser from Xenosaga part 1. Nothing quite says 'badass' like an attack that kills 99% of your foes in one hit.

Also. Flonnezilla. Anyone who has seen this attack in Disgaea 2 knows that it is teh awesome. Even if my level 100 characters can do more damage than it with Flonne at level 500 >.>

Also, Sora's Final Form attack patterns. Killing everything in seconds with normal attacks has to be awesome. Strangely enough, I thought his anti-form was pretty awesome too, even if the floating Organization bosses made it annoying, since you can't jump worth a damn. call it Neko-ken Sora. That's what it looks like. And it is crazy-fast.

Okami - Cherry Bomb. It blows shit up. 'Nuff said.

Let's also not forget Ganondorf's Warlock Punch. Doesn't hit often, but when it does, man is it satisfying! One of the reasons no one will play team-matches with me unless they're on my side. I'm not very good, but pitch me someone at the right range, and they're gone.

Also, Hiro's Triple Slash. In a game where most enemy HPs don't break 1000, it kills everything short of bosses. And those it deals massive amounts of hurt to. Zophar took time, one of the few final bosses with enough power to believably be a god of destruction. Though he was, of course, not even a challenge for me. Put the Fiend Ring(insane defense, strong vs. EVERYTHING, but you start every battle with less than 20 HP) on Ronfar for that battle and as long as you fry the two hands you can before part 2, he doesn't stand a chance and all you've got to do is wail away.

And on the subject of VP... Lenneth's Nibelung Valesti is also awesome. Even if it doesn't deal 10000 damage like Freya's Ether Strike at the very beginning.

Also, nothing yet has defeated the overpoweredness of Ultima from FFVI. Give Terra the Economizer and Gem Box, and everything just kind of fries. Even the final boss doesn't last long against that, and all the rest of the party has to do is sit back and keep healed.

And I should probably stop now...

Triple SWORD, not Slash. </Lunar fanboy>

As for fighting game attacks....

So shoot me. It's been years since I loaned that game out, and I still haven't gotten it back... if he lost it... well, I can't really say anything because I've borrowed several things of his that he ended up buying new copies of because he got tired of waiting for me to get them back to him... not that I wouldn't on asking, but we don't see each-other often.

Keep in mind that L: EB is available as a free download ISO on several romsites...
