So I spent a bit of time working on this....

Here's the prologue :
Prologue

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disclaimer: What's that grey stuff he's got coming out of his ears?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was a peaceful day in the area surrounding the Hinata girlÆs dormitory. The sun was shining, the birds sang cheerfully, and only minimum property damage had been caused. It was the kind of day that would get a pessimist to soil himself in fear just thinking about.

And so, Murphy decided to have a little fun.

ôATLAS four, reporting in. IÆve reached the target residence with no enemy contacts detected. Please advise, over.ö

Oh yes, Murphy was going to have a lot of fun indeed.

A young man stood at the entrance to the Hinata inn, his hands at his sides. If one listened carefully, they could hear quiet muttering from the twenty-something fellow.

ôATLAS Four, ATLAS two is reporting movement inside the residence, hold position for now, over.ö

The brown haired operative resisted taking a glance at a distant hillside to the west, deeming it too suspicious if someone was watching him.

ATLAS Four, also known as Urashima Keitaro, waited patiently outside the Hinata inn, his body in a relaxed stance. Stretching, he covertly felt all his holsters to confirm that all his fire arms were still in place. As a gentle breeze ruffled his hair, Keitaro allowed a yawn to distort his features for a moment. As soon as he had schooled his face again, his earpiece crackled to life.

ôATLAS four, ATLAS two is reporting that movement has ceased. Advance and stay alert for enemy contact, over.ö

ôRoger, ATLAS four advancing, over.ö The young man murmured as he approached the rather grandiose building. Taking care not to make any noise, he slid the glass door open and stepped inside. His senses began to run on high alert, and his fingers ached to be around a weapon. His ears perked at the sound of footsteps, and it took some effort to keep from throwing himself behind one of the couches in the room.

ôATLAS two has spotted a woman in red and white clothing, unable to determine age. Advise you prepare yourself for civilian contact, ATLAS four, over.ö Keitaro discretely tapped the button hidden in his left sleeve that transmitted his affirmative, and braced himself. Just at the perfect time too, for a young woman with jet black hair and a martial arts training uniform stepped in gracefully.

Her head whipped around quickly, and her eyes narrowed when they locked onto him. Had Keitaro not been trained by MITHRIL drill sergeants, he was sure heÆd have evaporated into a mist by now.

ôPerverted male, what the hell do you think youÆre doing here?ö She spat at him, her hand immediately on the hilt of her blade. ôIÆm sure youÆve come to satisfy your disgusting urges on the wo-ô and suddenly she found herself with both arms held behind her back, and something cold pressed against her neck.

The younger woman froze instantly, obviously deciding that it wasnÆt worth getting killed over. Not only that, but both of the manÆs hands were obviously occupied, meaning sheÆd have an opportunity if he tried to do anything else.

Keitaro roughly twisted his captivesÆ wrist, breaking her hold on her blade, as well as making her breathe in sharply. The steel sword fell to the ground with a clang that echoed in the abrupt silence.

Keitaro frowned at the sudden docility the girl at his mercy showed. He leaned in close to her ear and whispered, ôWhere do you keep your Klondike bars?ö The woman stiffened up, then looked over her shoulder as best as she could. ôWhat did you just say?!ö she demanded incredulously. He said nothing in return, opting instead to knock her out with a swift jab to the back of the head.

Her defiant eyes widened in shock for an instant before they fluttered shut. The agent caught her in his arms and lifted her up bridal style. ThatÆs what you get for refusing Urashima Keitaro his Klondike bars, bitch.

Mmmmà.ice cream.

Moments before he placed her on the nearest couch, another young woman entered the room. The glare the brunette leveled at him would have caused most normal men to turn to dust. Even Keitaro, trained as well as he was, dropped his unconscious burden onto the couch, the hairs on the back of his neck standing straight up.

The split second after the comatose womanÆs raven-hued tresses settled around her face, both figures blurred into action. A fist-sized hole appeared in the wall under the stairway, the result of a narrowly dodged strike, followed by a thunderous crash.

Keitaro ducked under the brunetteÆs kick, grabbing her by her leg and flinging her across the room in a single motion. His opponent flipped, rebounded, and came right back at him with a vicious hay-maker. Barely managing to side step, the agent took advantage of the opening by slamming his knee into his assailants' stomach.

The young woman barely had enough time to gasp in pain before Keitaro followed up with an elbow to the back. Finishing up, the young man latched his hand onto the back of her head, and proceeded to smash her face first into floor.

Keitaro was so focused on eliminating the threat, that he didnÆt notice anyone else entering the room. A lit cigarette landing on the floor in front of him alerted him to the stunned woman standing a few feet away.

Belatedly realizing that his current position might have been the cause of the older womanÆs alarm, he released his grip on the brunette and leapt to his feet.

ôI apologize for my actions. I was merely defending myself from two unprovoked attackers.ö Ignoring the other personÆs apparent inability to close her mouth, he continued. ôI received a letter recently about the death of Urashima Hina-san. I was notified about this because my name is Urashima Keitaro. ItÆs very nice to meet you.ö

And so, it was in a room with two, no wait, make that three unconscious women that Urashima Keitaro was discovered to still be alive.

TBC...

I'm positive I made at least one or more spelling\grammar errors, so please feel free to inform me so that I may correct it.

Other then that, please R&R.

EDIT: Thanks for pointing those out to me Jiigar, most of those have been fixed other then the "suddenly" one, since I can't figure out a suitable synonym.

To SMWhat: "What the Hell" is a common response to things I say, but if you didn't get it when you read it, Keitaro likes Klondike bars. It's one of those quirks that soldiers get sometimes. Also one of my running gags (hint, hint)

Well, there's one. :p

Hmm....

ôATLAS four, reporting in. IÆve reached the target residence with no enemy contacts detected. Please advice, over.ö
Should be 'advise'.

The brown haired operative resisted taking a glance at a distant hillside to the west, deeming to too suspicious if someone was watching him.
Probably should be 'it', rather than 'to'.

As soon as he had school his face again, his ear piece crackled to life.
'Schooled' is what you're looking for here, methinks. And I believe earpiece, when referring to a radio, is one word...not sure though.

His senses began to run on high alert, and his fingers arched to be around a weapon.
'Ached' works better.

She spat at him, her hand immediately on the hilt of her blade. ôIÆm sure youÆve come to satisfy your disgusting urges on the wo-ô and suddenly she found herself with both arms held behind her back, and something cold pressed against her neck.
Mh....personally, I dislike use of 'suddenly'. Not really a problem, but I think there are better words/phrases available.

Keitaro roughly twisted his captivesÆ wrist, breaking her hold on her blade, as well as making her breath in sharply. The steel sword fell to the ground with a clang that echoed in the abrupt silence.
'breathe', not 'breath'. Or if you really want 'breath', for whatever reason, make it 'draw her breath in sharply'. Or something like that.

ôWhat did you just say?!ö she demanded, well as well as any hostage can.
I think this bit is unnecessary. It's rather obvious that she's a hostage, so it doesn't really add anything new. If the sentence is too short without it, try 'demanded incredulously' rather than just 'demanded'. Or leave it. Your choice.

Her defiant eyes widened in shock for an instant before they fluttered shut.
Having a 'for' there makes it sound a bit better.

The split second after the comatose womanÆs raven-hued tresses settled around her face, two blurs were all that could be seen by the naked eye.
This sentence is a bit....clunky after the comma. Maybe try something like ', the two figures blurred into motion.'?

A fist-sized hole appeared in the wall under the stairway, the result of a narrowly dodged strike, followed by a thunderous smash.
Crash is better, if you're referring to a sound.

Barely managing to side step the, the agent took advantage of the opening by slamming his knee into his assailants stomach.
Unnecessary.

So focused on removing the threats was Keitaro, that he didnÆt notice anyone else entering the room.
"Keitaro was so focused..." flows a bit better.

I think that's it. Nothing major. ^_^

Nice, and since Jighar has so kindly pointed out the spelling and gramar, I'm free to talk about the fic itself.

Heres my thoughts.

:yay: :snigger: :yay:

That about summs it up. One thing though, Geting youre face slammed into the floor hurts, alot. Unless Keitaro is even more unbalanced than Sagara, it's also a bit extreme.

But this is win regardless.

Klondike bars?

What the hell?

And I shouldn't feel like I have to spell this out, but judging from past experiences I probably do: the "what the hell" was not meant as a compliment.

What would you do for a Klondike bar?

Deliriously enjoying the story, and hoping for much much moar!

Positive Feedback! :yay: :yay: :yay: Thanks to everyone who reviewed so far.

Well for one, I could say Keitaro is having withdrawal symptoms since he hasn't had an ice cream sandwich in a long time.

Or, I could simply point out that Naru, being able to move that fast, would probably need something pretty extreme to knock her out. I'm surprised that no one commented on UberFighterNaru, yet.

I mean, Motoko probably looks up to people if they can kick her ass. Well, she looks up to girls anyways.

As I mentioned earlier, I fixed the errors graciously pointed out by JiigarGhen. He gets credit as a beta of sorts for that.

That was the first fight scene I'd ever written, how was it (besides short, I mean)?

Thanks again, and I'm working on the next part at the moment.

I just tried to post the next update for this twice. Want to know what I learned? Don't ever try to do something like that on a computer system you're not comfortable with. As soon as I get to my PC, I'll post the update. Until then, you'll have to be annoyed with this stupid system.

Okay, here goes nothing, a brief update for some minor injustice.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"So you're telling us that you are Urashima Keitaro, who vanished thirteen years ago in a traffic accident, correct?"

Keitaro nodded his head in affirmation, his expression totally blank.

The older woman, who had identified herself as Urashima Haruka a scant few minutes earlier, pinched her forehead wearily.

Sitting down next to Haruka was the black-haired woman that had attacked Keitaro earlier that day. Or rather, she had almost attacked him. To be fair, the martial artist obviously underestimated him, making it almost pathetically easy to incapacitate her. As he felt it to be his duty to inform them of this fact, he didn't understand why the younger woman began to grit her teeth noisily. Not only that, but her eyebrow began to twitch at an almost unhealthy speed.

Keitaro had a tiny suspicion that he would be in mortal danger, were the younger brunette awake.

As it was, the young man felt it wise to change the subject to the reason why he was present there in the first place.

"If you require proof of my identity, I have a sample of my blood that should verify my claim." he remarked, withdrawing a tube full of crimson liquid as he spoke.

Wary of any quick movements, Haruka reached for the vial in his hands. Keitaro made no modtion to resist, very certain that anything he might do would be responded to with extreme force. Once Haruka finished a brief examination of the tube, she stood up. The MITHRIL agent's eyes tracked the brunette as she warned the younger girl to not let the man do anything. Following that, she walked out of the room.

Keitaro could feel the daggers his guard was glaring at him. Other then his very recent combat with her, he couldn't think of any reason why she would loath him to this extent.

Now slightly curious, Keitaro inquired of the maiden why she disliked him with such severity. She responded by jamming a bokken (that seemed to appear from thin-air, mind you) into the floor no less then two centimeters away from his groin area.

Unphased, the agent was about to repeat his question when something occured to him. Her reaction might have been her method of answering his question. Judging by her actions, she must have a strong fear of male genitals.

However, just before the brown-haired young man had a chance to ponder the reason for her apparent phobia, another problem presented itself.

He was still hungry.

And his finely tuned senses were telling him that there was a Klondike bar nearby.

Either he would get his scrumptious ice cream sandwich, or there would be hell to pay.

...

Well, the kind of hell that was cold enough for a Klondike bar to surive in anyways. Keitaro didn't like eating them melted.

TBC...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Notes: I'm sure I've made some more mistakes, so I would greatly appreciate if someone were to point those out.

Even at this point, I have no idea where Keitaro's obsession with Klondike bars came from. Nothing in my brainstorms even resembled it.

This scene was pretty slow, but I'm working on getting back up to speed as soon as possible.

I'll give you a hint: Knife-throwing Shinobu.

Hmmm....why i see the one that started his obsession with the Klondike Bars....as a Bandanna-wearing chap called Iroquois Plissken???

Out of curiosity, how would just giving her a sample of his blood work as identification? I mean, they'd have to do labwork and such to compare the genetics, unless Keitaro's got some ultra rare bloodtype, like Bombay, in which case it might go much more quickly...but it seems like it would just be more sensible to hand over the lab results or something. Unless Haruka's known to be able to psychically read blood or something...or taste it.

"Mmm...yep, this is definitely my nephew's blood type. It's got that tantalizing tang to it his father's blood had, and the rich smoothness of his mother's..."

:huh!:

"...what?"

My answer: You probably pick up a few skills concerning that if you hang around Seta long enough. Last time I checked, Archeologists needed to know how to analyze blood samples.

I know it's a bit of a cop out, but oh well. If you want, imagine Haruka having a secret underground laboratory *a la Washu*.

Oh hell, I just got a mental image of Haruka doing Washu's mad cackle, including the two robot cheerleaders on the shoulders.

I can't decide whether to laugh, or wet myself.

In any case, the next part is being worked on presently.

How do they know that its a sample of his blood, though, since he was carrying it in a tube, rather than extracting it in front of them?

good job there..

although while a bokken is a sword made of wood... i think a tanto (small metal katana almost the size of a cooking knife) would fit more if she were trying to scare the young man by (mock) threatening his manhood

keep up the good work

Very brief update to keep this story from dying. This is still part of chapter 1.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The kitchen of the Hinata inn was rather quaint, if a bit impractical in KeitaroÆs opinion. What little experience he had involving interior decorating was ignored yet again, as the young man resumed his task. He had taken two steps into the room when he noticed a young girl with blue hair wearing an apron while preparing a meal. The girl looked to be around thirteen or fourteen years old, and had a gentle smile on her face. While almost anyone would be put at easy by such a person, KeitaroÆs senses began to blare loudly. Cautious to move as silently as possible, he edged his way towards the fridge in the corner. Slowly, Keitaro crept in the direction of the refrigerator, careful not to alert the chef of his presence. As soon as he was reaching for the fridge doorsÆ handle, his earpiece crackled to life.

ôATLAS four, this is Command. What is your situation? Over.ö

Since the bluette obviously heard that inquiry, KeitaroÆs situation suddenly got a hell of a lot worse. He was halfway to signaling for radio silence with a button when a flash of steel blurred towards him. Using instincts honed by years spent in combat, Keitaro threw himself backward as fast as he could.

Sshnk!

Five inches of a six inch cutting knife were now protruding from the wall, about where his head had been mere moments ago. Keitaro was now quite sure that this young girl wasn't an average Japanese teenager. That is, unless that gaijin, Stallone-san, was a teacher at her school

He set aside that line of thought for later, and his eyes focused on the obvious threat in front of him. In another universe, Keitaro wouldnÆt have ever dreamed of harming such an innocent and cute girl. At present however, he had no qualms with keeping himself intact, despite the apparent intentions of most of the Hinata innsÆ residents.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please point out any grammar/spelling mistakes I might have made.

Thank you for tolerating insanity, have a good day.

Heh... that will teach him to get into a battle situation when his opponent is in her own armory.

One thing noticed:

Keitaro was now quite sure that this young girl was an average Japanese teenager.
'was' s/b 'was not'
