Game Ideas

Dichronia is a game where two times overlap with one another. The past and the future. The past is riddled with monsters and the future overwhelmed with ruins of an ancient civilization. Every action in the past affects the future. Allowing building to be destroyed in the past causes the future building to change from how it normally is.

The game play of the past and future is radically different. The Past is more like a normal RPG while the Future is more platformer with dungeons and traps. While each time has Bosses for the dungeons the method to defeat them is different. While in the past your character is more likely to rush though things and just go straight for the kill, the future you would be able to avoid it or use some trap to kill it without fighting.

I just needed it out of my head so here it is.
Is my idea sound?
I want comments.

eh?
Is this a plan for a game, or something?
If so, shouldn't it probably go in the talk?
Also, concept's good, now give us a plot that explains what's happened.

?

I remember there being a thread like this already...

Ahhhh, what the hell. This is the "Game Ideas" section. No one ever said they couldn't be be games that we want to make. ;)

Anyway, why don't you give us more info? The basic premise sounds somewhat generic, but that's not a problem. Try thinking about characters and settings like cities, or importanr landmarks in the world.

I have some things at the moment locked down but if you want to you can add stuff as writing isn't my forte. I'm the guy who most likely program the game if I can get enough ideas and such. :sisi:

You can program? Damn I'm jealous. I don't have the patience to learn...

Well, I'd like to play the game you're thinking about making. it sounds interesting. Two games you might want to look at are Dark Cloud (and DC2) and the SNES game Actraiser. Both of these are examples of games that bend their genres with city building. Dark Cloud is an action RPG and Actraiser is a platformer IIRC.

I own both of them.
