It is not that they do not matter, per se, nor that they are a drain on bandwidth...? but a person whom stays lurking and does not post might as well be a nonmember, since they are not really contributing to the forum...?

My one gripe in relation to lurkers is everyone states how huge we are, but it is not near as big (even if still big), when? you subtract the 7800 or so members that are non-contributors.? And a large portion of the remainder only have a small handful of posts.

Yeah in all honesty I can't find any way to argue against that statement, in my personal defense though I have posted a couple really short stories in the past whenever an idea struck me so I'm not really sure I count as a true lurker anymore.

And now that I've somewhat defended my position, nick I just want to let you know that I have (for the moment) emerged from my dark little corner of the room just so that I can show you how much I appreciate your efforts.
