Omake: The First Look.

ôI can't really describe what he looks like and have you believe me but I do have a few pictures that were taken fairly recently.ö The smoker mentioned while pulling a couple of small photographs out of her back pocket.

Kaolla lunged towards her and snagged one of them out of the older woman's hands, eager to get a look at a possible new playmate. Kitsune was immediately at her shoulder, just as excited to get a peek.

Haruka could almost hear the gears stop turning in the resident gambler's head as Kitsune stared at the photo in Su's hands.

ôHoly shit!ö

Haruka smirked, ôYeah I know. It's kinda freaky, isn't it.ö

She handed the other picture to Naru, who by now was very curious after Kitsune's response. Motoko used her unusual height to glance over Narusegawa's shoulder to see as well.ö

The seventeen year old gawked at the photo of a gorgeous brunette woman. The girl in the picture was wearing a light blue sundress with small-framed glasses and brown eyes. The woman was looking right at the camera with a bright smile on her lips.

ôThat's him? That's your male cousin Keitaro?ö Naru asked, visibly astonished.

ôMmmhmm.ö Haruka confirmed.

Motoko then summed up what most of the residents of the dormitory were thinking with the simple phrase, ôDude looks like a lady!ö

My friend wouldn't leave me alone until I had someone say it.

Even for the humor of one of the residents pulling that line, Motoko is the one person who probably doesn't even have the word "dude" in her vocabulary. Su saying it would work, especially if it's in a singsong tone.

On a side note, I actually see Su and Kitsune teaming up on Keitaro to have him try on different outfits. He would be effectively a life-size paper doll for them.

Why do you think I had her say it?
^_^

It's just so completely unexpected from her.

Well in aff fairness to Keitaro, Hina DID adopt Haruka as a daughter after her mom died. Why Hina couldn't just raise her as her grandmother I don't know, but technically Haruka is his both aunt and his cousin.
Sooo... Haruka holds the secret to eternal youth? Because to be Hina's grandma, she has to be fucking old...

Was there not a fic started with that theme? Something like Haruka found a stone of immortality and Hina grabbed the stone of aging, so Hina was something like 27 and looked like she did, and Haruka was something like 80, and looked like she did?

I don't remember the stone of aging, but yes. Keitaro also touched it.

Haruka killed Christoper Lambert, too.

I'd argue Mortal Kombat killed Christopher Lambert. Or at least his career. :snigger:

I figured it was Highlander that killed his career. Or at least made it stillborn. When your entire career is tied intimately to a single franchise, that doesn't bode well for casting opportunities.

Um, GH that one pretty clearly wasn't messed up in terms of who was who. The question was why Hina decided to adopt Haruka instead of just raising her without the adoption because she was already Haruka's grandmother. It's nice you go a chuckle there and all but that one wasn't wrong, The grammar there asks why Hina couldn't raise Haruka as Haruka's grandmother instead of adopting her and becoming her mother.

Not the best grammar I'll admit, but still technically correct.

Time for a small update.

*Location: In the main streets around the Hinata Prefecture.*

ôLet's see, milk, two loaves of sourdough bread, a carton of cigarettes for Aunt Haruka, three candles and cooking spray. I hope I didn't forget anything on the list.ö

Keitaro muttered to himself as he made his way through Hinata's streets. A slight wind had picked up out of nowhere in the last few minutes and was blowing the young man's long bangs into his eyes again and again. Spitting out an errant tuft of hair, he rolled his brown eyes in exasperation. It almost seemed as if the air that surrounded Hinata was trying to welcome him back by rushing around him at random intervals.

ôPfft!ö Another lock of hair got sent out of mouth. Keitaro continued on his way.

By his guess, he was about two blocks away from the Hinata-sou, and he was closing that distance at a steady pace, despite the wind bothering him.

In his right hand, he carried two grocery store bags, filled to the brim with the food and other items that his cousin had requested he run out and buy.

ôShe could have at least let me sit down for a few minutes after climbing that huge flight of stairs with a heavy suitcase. I don't think that would have been asking too much.ö He grumbled to himself under his breath,

Despite the irritated tone of voice he used, Keitaro wore a big smile on his face as the memories began to make their way back.

ôI think it was right on this street corner where I found Kanako once, when she had wandered away from the inn.ö He reminisced out loud quietly, unaware that he was being approached. Caught up in remembering the past, he stopped walking and closed his eyes. It wasn't until the young man watching him from the side cleared his throat that Kei-chan noticed he wasn't alone.

Keitaro blinked a few times in surprise.

ôCan I help you with something?ö He asked the handsome young man that was examining him.

The fellow smiled brightly. ôYou seem to be having some trouble finding your way around. Maybe I could help you get to where you're going.ö

He offered his hand confidently.

ôAnd at the same time, I can help you carry some of your groceries.ö He added cheerfully, unaware that he was starting to grate on Keitaro's nerves.

Urashima took a moment to think of his answer, before smiling pleasantly.

ôActually, I think I'll be okay, I used to live around here when I was younger. As long as the area hasn't changed too much, then I think I'll be able to get home without any trouble.ö

The helpful young man took on a thoughtful expression. ôUsed to live around here, you say? That's odd, I don't remember growing up around such a beautiful girl, and I've lived here all my life. I know just about everyone here.ö He remarked charmingly, obviously not a stranger to wooing girls he didn't know.

Keitaro smirked, ôYeah, that's probably one reason why.ö

At the young man's puzzled look, he elaborated. ôI'm not actually a girl, despite how I look."

He paused for a moment to let that sink in, then continued, "Thank you for the kind offer, but I think I'll be fine by myself, I've only got two blocks to go. Good day to you."

Still wearing the same smirk, Keitaro walked past the now dumbstruck young man.

'Only a couple of blocks left to go.' He reminded himself with a wry smile.

*End Snippet*

Notes: No, this story hasn't died, and I'm hoping that it will get a lot farther before that becomes a danger. I've had to spend time gathering materials concerning traps, such as Mizuho Ambivalent to think of ideas. Short snippet today, but I'm hoping to get a longer one out sometime this weekend.

If I've made any grammar or spelling mistakes, please let me know.

Reminds me of the ending for Johnny where he hits on Bridget... and finds out he's a trap. :snigger:

There's also an amusing 4koma involving Axl Low and Bridget. Let's just say Axl ended up 'DESTROYED' by his 'hands on' discovery.
