Bleach Ichigo Imprints

Basically what the topic title say, it seems like every other thread has it's own version of the imprint idea except Bleach.

This was actually spawned during a discussion of the imprint threads with a friend when he pointed out that if Ichigo imprinted on someone it could actually make a huge difference in canon because of the effect it might have on his zanpakutou and it's abilities.

So the idea was that after Masaki's death instead of Tatuski managing to snap Ichigo out of his funk he sees someone on television or in a manga or something that his traumatized mind latchs onto and he starts perfectly imitate their personality. Now what effects this has later on are up to the author; but I would say that a change in his zanpakutou if canon is followed is very likely.

And to start the suggestions off I going to recommend the one and only Takeshi Hongo, better known to some as Kamen Rider Ichigo. If only to see Urahara's reaction if Ichigo's shikai turns out to be a strange belt with a turbine in the center of the buckle.

Ichigo imprints on Naruto. Zangetsu either becomes the 3rd Hokage or Jiraiya and the Hichigo is the Fox.

Go die.

Now that that's out of the way, I'm throwing out Yagami Light. Simply because I see him and Aizen trying to outmaneuver each other before realising after inordinate amounts of time and effort "Wait a second, couldn't I just stab this guy?".

Thinking about it for a bit, I don't really see Ichigo as needing an imprint injection.

Although imprinting on, say, Joukyuu Kunitoshi (Aiki) would be kinda funny... and, hell, with Aiki or other series that fit, you could actually have Ichigo imprinting on a "real" person; following them around and watching them for a while.

Ichigo imprints on Zaraki.

Turns out Masaki was once a member of the 11th division, and when she died, Zaraki came to visit where she died. Ichigo, who'd been hanging around the area, sees him, and is... intrigued.

Zaraki sticks around for a few days, drinking and partying and fighting, and Ichigo follows him.

The result? I'll leave that up to someone else.

So, Ichigo would become an arrogant ass that attempts to screw every girl he knows?

Why would he need an imprint for that? What he needs is a sex drive. He's already an arrogant ass at the start of canon.

You're only thinking about half of the idea. The other point is that Zangetsu might not remain Zangetsu.

Zeebee1 is right, this idea isn't just about how Ichigo imprinting on someone else might change his interactions with others; but also how it might change his zanpakutou.

In canon Zangetsu fits Ichigo almost perfectly, in that it's a fairly straight forward weapon that seems best suited for charging in head first and cutting the opponent into pieces. However if we use say, Amodelsino's, idea of Ichigo imprinting on Yagami Light the chance of Zangetsu remaining even remotly similar to canon is pretty much nil.

In fact in the above mentioned case it's really hard for me to guess what type of tool his zanpakutou might end up being. For all Light is good at his manipulations, I would think he would end up with something rather subtle, i.e., his shikai's blade is coated in a poison that kills the person who is cut with it in a certain amount of time if Ichigo knows the persons true name. That gives it a powerful ability; but also a rather glaring weakness in that he has to know his foes name for the ability to work and it may not even work on hollows if he has to know the name they had before they transformed into a hollow.

Huh. How about at a young age, after his mother's death, Ichigo imprints upon Trigun? In class, or the general public, he is the "class clown" and flirts while never actually intending to carry through on it. When a bully or other disruptive influences are around, he reverts to a more canonical Ichigo and deals with them as expected. Fortunately Tatsuki kicked any hope of shouting "Love & Peace" out of him, literally. Though what else would change around Ichigo, due to this imprint?

For Zangetsu and Hichigo, they would probably be replaced by Vash the Stampede and Millions Knives, respectively while the shape of Zangetsu would change into a certain .45 Long Colt Eagle, but shooting hardened Retsu rather then bullets. They don't explode, but they can be made to pierce tougher materials with more Retsu if/when Ichigo focuses enough. So fighting wise, he would go Hand-to-Hand while using "Vash" at range. Vash would give his standard speeches and lines, to the point of driving Ichigo crazy once he manifests, and be all for saving Hollows from their current fate. Though Vash would be utterly against how the Quincy deals with Hollows and...well I'll leave what he does to the poor Ishida later. Knives on the other hand, would be less training/instinct that Hichigo has going. Instead, he would know he is "superior" to Hollows, Shinigami, Vizard, and Arrancar as he doesn't fall into any of those classifications. He would be the corrupting force that would attempt to take over what Aizen is doing and lead it himself to genocide. Vash would be the one who teaches him how to dodge, predict, sharp-shoot, and fight hand-to-hand better but encouraging him not to kill. Knives on the other hand would "show" him the more destructive techniques, especially for Bankai, that range from wide area devastation to even soul destruction. After both awakening, they act as Shoulder Angels whispering into opposing ears trying to get him to do certain acts and driving him slightly bonkers. At least, when Knives isn't trying to fight him for control directly when Ichigo is weak. Though Ichigo does realize he life could be so much easier if he did follow Knives's advice and actually shoot a few annoying people. Maybe even repeatedly. Though that bounty of 60,000 yen from the Yakuza is getting annoying. He has been fortunate that the police agreed the collateral damage was at the fault of the people trying to collect, and it is nice that store owners will push a side a customer to ring up his purchases to get him out of there store fast, but the idiots just keep coming and recking everything around him. At least it is the stupid members of the Yakuza trying to take him down, as the upper levels are having a good laugh at what is happening, and charging "protection" to shops in the form that their Yakuza will not fight Ichigo in their shop.

The initial state would still be the giant sword, just to make things fall right into rescuing Rukia. His perma-Shikai though would be the pistol and a bracer/glove on his left arm. A bracer that forms a sub-machine gun into his off-hand when needed.

For Ichigo's friends and the effect of his aura on them? Orohime with Millie Thompson's giant Stun Gun that can and does launch her Shun Shun Reika as well as the standard ammo Millie uses. To note, the Shun Shun Reika are scared somewhat scared of being launched out of the Stun Gun that way. Orohime would still have her Rejection powers, just Ichigo's influence altered the style a tad. Orohime blushes still when Ichigo hits on her, but can never answer or accept before Tatsuki shows up and pulls her away while yelling at how indecent Ichigo is being.

For Tatsuki, instead of Long-cat/fox as a Zanpakuto and being cast a side early in the story, she would end up the equivalent of Meryl Strife. A cloak filled with basically infinite one-shot derringer pistols for a Shikai. As for Ichigo's imprint, she dislikes it and tries to draw him out of it repeatedly from taking and hiding the manga and anime to berating him for acting in such a fashion. As she never read or watched Trigun herself, she doesn't realize just how accurately she is portraying Meryl Strife until after her Shikai comes around. Though protecting Orohime's innocence is a bit more of a hassle for her this time around. From fending off Chizuru's normal advances, is breaking up Ichigo's flirting with Orohime. Tatsuki knows that Ichigo wouldn't normally go through with it, but Orohime might not let him have the choice if she finally gets fed up enough to go for it. There is no jealousy on Tatsuki's side to breaking up the two, none what so ever. It isn't like she wanted to have the "player" flirt with her ever...the @#%#$.

For Ishida, things for him would go normally until his challenge, the hollow bait, and the Menos Grande that showed up, and he tried to absorb Ichigo's retsu to power a strong shot. Unfortunately for him, Vash really did not like his Quincy Cross destroying the souls of he attacked, so he altered Ishida's Quincy Cross. Poor Ishida had a near break down at trying to figure out what happened to his precious bow, and why did the thing act like a Zanpakuto! Nor did it help that instead of a bow, the thing changed into Wolfwood's Cross Punisher. He doesn't have a Bankai, fortunately for his Sanity, but the activation to turn his Quincy Cross into the new style of weapon is disturbingly like a Shikai. "Heavy the burden, Punisher".

As the changes for Chad, especially since we are out of good guys for ideas? Instead of the Right Arm of the Giant and Left Arm of the Devil, why not have him form a black Saxophone with bone white highlights at first? Yes, essentially the attacks of Midvalley the Hornfreak at first. For his power-up in Hueco Muendo, he would get the "Arm of the Giant" on both of his arms for defense representing his grandfather while the Sax turns bone white with red highlights and becomes called "Tempting Saxophone of the Devil". Can't help but think of a Blues playing Chad for some reason.

Finally, for Ichigo's Bankai? Manga style Angel Arm for cannons and defensive feathers, Vash's signature Red Duster and sunglasses, and his orange hair turning black until showing how much power is left for his Bankai at first. Possibly a reflex boost as well.

I almost feel sorry for Soul Society with this setup. A running fight between Ichigo and Zaraki, where Ichigo's bullets shatter against Zaraki at first and Zaraki is destroying various buildings trying to crush the annoying bug. Angel Arm cannon activation against Byakuya will probably leave a lot of Soul Society in ruins, if not a crater.

Awesome idea and good info but I'm not sure about turning EVERYONE into Trigun clones, Orihime's powers are kind of important to symbolise her commitment to her brother, although you could just have be as big a nut as new Ichigo and hold up Millie's stun-gun as 'the true gun of love and shiny!' or something.

Idea: was going to suggest using her fairies as ammo like Who Framed Rodger Rabbit but you seem to have done that already...

Ishida is awesome, his grief about his grandfather and the burden of being the last 'true Qunicy' fit Wolfwood's heavy cross motif to a Tee.

I just don't see Tatsuki as being ranged type, her personality being as you say works fine but she seems more like the type who enjoys beating people up close and personal.

This has made me realise that Brilliant Dynamites Neon is basically what you get if you mix Kenpachi, Yumchika and Billy the kid...

For other imprints... Transformers seems like something a kid might get hooked on, Optimus Prime was an icon to tons of kids and Ichigo stood astride the gallowsthing, flame-motif sword in hand with 'You got the Touch' blaring in the background is pretty awesome.

Optimal Shikai should either be that awesome axe from season one or a straight sword with flames running up the blade might be sweet.

Might be hard to rationalise his exposure but Berserk might be interesting, Ichigo pushing himself into becoming an even bigger standoffish super-jerk then he was in cannon but with even more bloodyminded determination that he'll NEVER let something happen to his family again.

This being the case Tatsuki is probably Ichigo's only real friend; I still see him saving Chad and the two forming their comradeship but his other two friends (who shall be known as Laurel and Hardy because I can't remember their names) aren't likely to be around.

Once he discovers Hollows I imagine he'll throw himself into hunting them with a zeal that makes even Rukia nervous, powering through Hollows regardless of injury.

His Hollow fits quite nicely as an analogue to the Berserker armour, both mask and helm try to pull themselves over their owners faces when enraged and both got their first real 'airing' by holding their bodies together in the face of a superior foe.

Shikai could probably stay the same, maybe a bit bigger but Bankai should certainly be something like the Dragonslayer, possibly boosting his already sick striking power with a rage based buff.

Ichigo Imprints

Sanguinius

A friend of the family gives Ichigo a wonderfully designed and crafted figurine of the Blood AngelÆs Primarch. Curious, he asks about the figure and learned the glorious tale of the right hand of the Emperor. A son who was willing to sacrifice himself to give his father an opening with which to slay a brother turned enemy. Something about the nobility of the figureÆs tale spoke to his heart and he began learning more about Sanguinius, pattering his actions after his favorite hero.

Shiki û Comes in two parts, the first resembles The Spear of Telesto and grants Ichigo a powerful ranged attack destroys anyone who is not his friend. The second part is a large pair of Angelic wings that grant him limited flight.

Bankai û The spear of Telesto transforms into a flaming sword, granting Ichigo control of fire. His wings are also significantly strength, allowing him nearly unrestricted flight and maneuverability in the air. His wings also allow him the ability to manipulate air into direct attacks or to fan the flames created by his sword.

Zangetsu = The Emperor, in his aspect as IchigoÆs mother.

Hichigo = Horus the Betrayer

Darth Vader

Ichigo watched the original (only) trilogy as a child. He admired the way Vader focused his anger and rage into power that was as effective and tightly controlled as any light saber. Vader reminded him of a Samurai who served his master and code with ruthless efficiency and dogged determination. It was only when his Master truly proved he was beyond help or hope that Vader put the rabid dog down.

Shiki û A Blue Light Saber that grants him a limited TK ability. In this mode he fights more like Anakin Skywalker.

Bankai û A red saber that grants him some armor (not enough to restrict his movements) and a massive TK ability. His movements and power are significantly more controlled in this mode, though he does appear to be slower. This slowness is a feint, Ichigo is just as quick and agile (if not more so) in this mode than he is normally.

Zangetsu = Darth Vader. He pushes Ichigo to be ruthless, effective, and carry himself with absolute self control over his emotions. Emotion are meant to fuel you, not rule you.

Hichigo = The Emperor. Pushes Ichigo to be a manipulative monster, that crushes friends and enemies alike under his tread to attain his goals.

Doctor Who

Ichigo watched a lot of Doctor Who as a child and became fascinated with the way the Doctor solved problems, and bested the bad guys. His favorite Doctor is Tom BakerÆs incarnation, though he is also fond of David TennantÆs work.

Shiki û Sonic Screw Driver. Acts like a wizardÆs wand in all honesty, but his ability to manipulate the world with it is rather impressive. The Sonic Screw Driver plus his imagination and cleverness make Ichigo a very dangerous opponent

Bankai û TARDIS. Do I even need to say how dangerous this makes him? Obviously he wonÆt be traveling all over the time stream, but the temporal manipulation powers it grants him are not to be sneeze at.

Zangetsu = Doctor Who

Hichigo = The Master

Kingdom Hearts

Shiki û Key Blade. Has the power to seal a Hollow, Shinigami, Quincy, or VizardÆs power for a limited amount of time (Lockdown). Can also unlock a beingÆs heart, flooding them with every emotion they ever felt in one massive rush.

Bankai û A version of SoraÆs final form from KH 2, that grants him two Key blades that just kind of float nearby and act in accordance with his hand movements.

Zangetsu = King Mickey

Hichigo = Heartless Sora

Final Fantasy 7

Shiki = Can transform into any handheld weapon used by Cloud Strife, with abilities to match. Uses his limit Breaks as directed attacks

Bankai = The Summons. Everything from Chocobo to Knights (Shinigami?) of the Round.

Zangetsu = Aeris

Hichigo = Sephiroth

I like the Vash imprint idea, but I don't like changing everyone to Trigun characters. It doesn't make sense.

Ichigo could turn on the tv soon after losing his mother and watch the Trigun episode where they reveal Vash's "mother" dying.

Not sure about his zanpakto abilities though.

Why are people changing H!Ichigo? He's a manifestation of Ichigo's killing instinct, shown as an inversion of Ichigo's physical appearance. So I don't see any reason why he would look any different from canon no matter what Ichigo acts like. Changing Ichigo's personality isn't going suddenly change his physical body.

Also, none of the changes for the hollow make any sense anyway. If Ichigo had a Darth Vader imprint, his hollow certainly isn't going to be as coldly logical and ruthless as Palpatine. Hell, he'd probably be even more of a psycho than he is in canon.

Whats wrong with the slight aspect change of my Berserk idea? I even mentioned that they were practically the same thing.

To be honest a lot of these imprints wouldn't change Ichigo's powers very much at all; in canon he's a surly loner type who values protecting his friends and family whilst all his actual powers revolve around kicking in peoples heads with extreme prejudice, not a single defensive power in the list.

Eh, the reasoning behind changing Chad, Orohime, and Tatsuki along with Ichigo, is because of how it is implied those three got their abilities. More from being near Ichigo and how he leaks spirtual power, from what I remember. Ishida's change though could be held off or ignored, but I can't help but find that it would fit and that the perfect excuse to make the change is right in canon when he tries to absorb as much retsu as possible for a strong attack from Ichigo.

In the end, Tatsuki's change doesn't need to occur nor does Chad's change(No! I was liking the idea of Blues!Chad). Orohime's change is more slapstick comedy in its approach and a increase in her offensive powers, but still negligible when compared to the normal power houses. And Ishida's is one that I just really like. Ishida doesn't get a Wolfwood personality graft or anything, just the Cross Punisher that cleanses the hollow and can perform soul burial rather then destroy the soul outright. Plus trying to deal with the change in his weapon emotionally, while blaming Ichigo outright for the change.

That and Mayuri would find the "Imitation Quincy" and his strange weapon interesting enough to do some experimentation. If only he could stop getting shot, repeatedly, and blown up when trying to approach and collect him.

Guess my mind was just trying to fit Orohime and Tatsuki into the roles of Millie and Meryl. Though thinking further, Yuzu and Karin could fit in as well while keeping the imprint in the family. The Kurosaki family is just that weird.

Edit: Argh, can't believe I made that mistake.

Ya while all these ideas are good ones (except for the Kingdom Hearts one) Amodelsino makes a very good point, H!Ichigo in a manifestation of Ichigo's killing instinct given form and indipendence do to the way he regained his Shinigami powers.

You can't change this aspect of Ichigo its literally his "darkside". So with that in mind if Ichigo imprints on Darth Vader then H!Ichigo wouldn't be Sidious it would be a Sith!Vader instead of Dark Jedi!Vader. Really it would go much more smoothly if you started Ichigo out with his modeling a young Anakin so filled with hope and so much surpressed rage at the misfortunes that have befallen him and his family.

The Berserk idea is probably the best one here though.

Ichigo is already a berserker in the series. He doesn't need to imprint on someone for that to happen.

I have to disagree with the thought that a personal imprint would change your zanpakuto though. Isn't the soul slayer based on, oh I don't know, your soul?

HIchigo for Anakin!Ichigo would be Vader. There wouldn't be a HIchigo if there was Vader!Ichigo, since Vader would uses killing intent, and all the things that Hichigo is made up of, in his fighting style to make him more deadly. Vader is about efficiency, after all.

This is true, however, the reader is never really shown what shapes a zanpakutou's form and abilities. I personally believe that the characters personality plays at least some part in it, if only because most of the zanpakutous we've seen in the manga seem to fit the personality and overall style of the users very well.
