In the interest of expanding Iron Fic to non-TFF forums, I'd like to add a new rule. Fics posted for the contest should also be posted to a publicly viewable archive or forum of your choice, ask me if you aren't sure if it works Sorry for dropping this so suddenly; the stuff on the archive can be posted after the four hour limit.
Iron Fic 4-1: Counterfeit
Mafia types printing currency in smoke filled rooms, small time criminals making "change for a twenty", an artist putting the finishing touches on a new Rembrandt and a legitimate businessman selling a product that doesn't exist to the board of directors.á But it does not just apply to crime and theft.á Counterfeiting is passing off a copy as real.á Identities, documents, art, animals.á And can't you counterfeit feelings?á How about memories?
For this Iron Fic challenge, write a story about counterfeiting.á It's your choice whether to show events from the counterfeiter's point of view, that of the victim, or a bystander.á By all means, deceive the audience and play with the theme.á There's more to counterfeiting than just forgery; it's a confidence game.
This challenge's keywords are misdirection and fake.á The challenge is made!
