The knife in the dark. Secrets told. Promises made and broken. Trust destroyed. Unfortunate accidents. Jealous lies.

Betrayal most foul.

Betrayal comes in many forms: imagined and real, intentional or not, successful and not, and more. Your story must deal with the breaking of trust and the reasons why. (And yes, insanity and ôfor the lulzö are valid reasons).

Waxing poetic aside, you are as always free to write stories set in every day times. The betrayal there can be the usual teen angst, or horrifying nightmare fuel.
