Kamen Rider OOO's

So, I know a few of ya'll watch Kamen Rider, and since the new series has just started I thought I might as well make a thread about it. Figured TV was as good of a place as I would find.

My personal thoughts so far? I hope it doesn't turn into Den-O. One of the few series of Kamen Rider I truly hate. I know the writer for Den-O said she was going to try to keep the influences down, but let's just say I'm slightly pessimistic about it all. I gotta say, I'm sad to see the Engrish belts go. The main character seems like a Godai clone, only thing he's missing is the mole.

Sorry if this post seems a bit rushed, I just wanted to make a thread and hopefully get some discussion going.

I think I like Shotaro better; OOO seems like an idiot. At least Shotaro was a stylish idiot, and even then, he wasn't really an idiot, just acting like one.

The new guy actually reminds me of Godai....the "Crouching moron hidden bad ass" types can be some of the best protagonists if given the chance. (something that Onodera was sadly robbed of )

So if he eventually develops into as much of a bad ass as the true "Cool Guy"...we'll be in for a treat.

That's a pretty strange first choice, considering decade spoiled you all the previous heisei series. On the other hand, your lack of knowledge kept you from ragin at your screen because of how lmae the AR riders were, especially AR Kuuga.

If you're interested by more, I suggest you try Kabuto, W or Kuuga.

Having just watched the fourth episode, I've got to say that OOO is getting more badass as the series continues.

Bluh. I'm not really sure if I'm going to like it after seeing a few episodes. Ankh's actor is kind of bugging me with the way he talks and just generally looks. I'm kind of disliking how there's rarely a serious moment that isn't immediately interrupted with a joke. It's making me think of Den-O, and I really didn't like Den-O. Like, at all.

Although in my first post I said I was sad to see the engrish belts go? I smiled when I heard the belt go "Cheetah" So I'm glad about that.

OOO is awesome so far. It seems similar to Den-O at first glance, but it's actually quite different. Eiji, for one, is way more badass than Ryutaro:

First episode, he takes a gun from a collapsed officer to fire at the Yummy (Firing a real gun! In a kid's show!), simply because he wants to save Ankh and the police officers. (he barely even knows them!)

Second episode, he rushes into a collapsing building to save someone... without transforming into OOO. He succeeds too.

Third episode, he tries to free someone from the possession of a Yummy, again without transforming into OOO.

Fourth episode... I can't choose a single moment from 4, it has too many!

OOO's sword is also awesome.

I actually knew that and noted it in the first post of the thread. Also, it's not a "he" so much as a "she." Yasuko Kobayashi is the screenwriter's name, she's been involved in quite a few Toku shows.

However, to me it feels like DenO. I might be the brightly colored characters, or the distracting Henshins, something about it just bugs me. Not enough for me to hate it completely, but enough for me to just be slightly annoyed. I don't like Ankh, he bothers me so much. Talking about Humans' greed, when their fucking name is "Greeed." Also, did anyone else notice how much they showed off the iPhone? Just thought it was kind of funny.

As expected, the pure forms are a lot more powerful than the mix and match ones...but the downside is the toll on the body is infinitely greater.

Would this qualify as a <a href='http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DeadlyUpgrade' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Deadly Upgrade</a>?

It looks like OOO is shaping up to be one of the strongest Riders.

Think he'll surpass Kuuga by the end?

I don't really see a point to be stronger than the planet destroying Kuuga, I'd rather he keep developing interesting abilities like he is right now.

On the other hand they already said that ooo is 1.5 ?, so who knows?

Correct. Not to mention it'll force the writers to use unimaginative ways / excuses to try and nerf him.

Like the aforementioned Kuuga...his Ultimate Kick is essentially a planet buster. But we never get to see him use it because it's too much of a game breaker.

Dunno about how powerful they're gonna make OOO's by the end. Furthermore, there's the fact that, if the toy is correct, there's seven different colors of medals total and there always might be some sort of mid-season or end of show upgrades he might get.

Either way, I'm liking it so far, and it appears that we'll be seeing the pure yellow/cat form in the next episode, if the episode preview is anything to go by.

Okay, I love CAKEBOSS. I don't think there's going to be a better character than him, but at the same time I don't like him. He's too smug. There's something going on and I just don't like it. It always feels wrong when the Riders are being lead on like this. Also, I'm seriously mad that Ankh feel for the 60% thing. Really? You gave up 100 coins simply because OOO's need a mototrcycle? All the other Riders had their own bikes. And fucking Faiz's turned into a goddamn Robot. OOO's turns into a Vending Machine. Honestly, not worth the money.
