Kingsguard

I. He never thought his first day as a Kingsguard would end with Aerys beating and raping his wife.

He's standing watch outside her chambers' door when the King walks in, his face a mix of lust and anger. One of his new brothers û he never bothered trying to remember which û holds him fast when the shouts and cries and moans begin. When the King finishes and leaves, he questions his brother why, and his response ruins what little honor Jamie thought he had.

II. Hours later he enters her room and finds her laying on bed covered in blood and tears. She refuses to meet his gaze until he calls for a tub and hot water. Their gazes are locked together even after the maids leave and Jamie lowers her into the tub to wash her himself. A soft touch and a gentle cloth clean the physical remnants of the King's madness, but the mental stains remain.

Neither one speaks, but their eyes say everything.

I'm sorry.

You are forgiven.

III. Unlike most, Jamie knows he's the one that initiates the kiss. Rhaella's eyes go wide, but her mouth opens even wider. She's old enough to be his mother û is an aunt, of sorts û but Jamie doesn't care. All he see's is a beautiful and broken creature that deserves his love, his protection. As he pulls her from the tub and caresses her full breasts and plays with her sweet cunt, he knows she's earned his lust as well.

IV. He takes her every night at Harrenhal, exploring and learning her body as only a young man can. They moan and scream and come again and again. For hours they fuck each other till there's nothing left, and then they lie together on sweat soaked sheets.

The radiant smile it brings to her face makes all the effort, all the danger, worth it.

V. It's been months since Harrenhal, months since the Stark girl was kidnapped, when Tywin sends King Aerys a gift. Dragonglass is rare, but not unknown. The dagger is exquisite, a valuable gift that would normally be prized beyond all measure. But Jamie knows what it really is, a message, a warning.

And if Tywin knows, then so does the rest of court.

VI. Jamie takes steps to be careful, but they rarely work. There are too many eyes, too many little birds; nowhere is truly safe and secret, but that only adds more excitement to their coupling. The promise to meet only after Aery's visits, but the rebellion is in full swing by then, and the Mad King comes almost daily.

Then comes the pregnancy. Jamie tries to stay away, but he falls in love with her all over again and takes her anyway.

VII. The Queen, her son, and Jamie are sent to Dragonstone as soon as the court hears of the Trident. Jamie doesn't mind the exile since he'll be able to spend more time with Rhaellla, but he isn't stupid. He sees the signs and knows that this revolt will succeed. He knows his father, he knows Robert Baraethorn, and knows that neither will allow the children of dragons to live.

He finds Varys and convinces him to help. That the convincing requires a sword is inconvenient, but Jamie doesn't mind so long as the Spider weaves the right web.

VIII. She's dieing and he doesn't know what to do. The pregnancy is taking it's toll, the war is taking its toll, and the years of suffering are taking their toll. There's only so much that Rhaella can give, and by the time that Daenerys is born there's almost nothing left.

IX. News from the mainland is bleak, but the sails of Stannis Bareathorn's fleet are bleaker still. Jamie doesn't want her last thoughts to be of the war her fool soon started because of her mad husband. She deserves better, so he takes her one last time in a room smelling of blood and death, and filled with the wails of a newborn babe.

That Viserys is watching wide-eyed through a cracked door makes it all the sweeter.

X. She dies riding his cock, her cunt tight around it like a bear trap despite the recent birth. She falls onto his naked, heaving chest, and he holds her there for an eternity. Her face looks peaceful, content. He kisses her shut eyes and glances at the barely open door.

Jamie contemplates fucking her corpse, but even he's not that much of a bastard.

AN: I don't where this came from. The rest will be done soonish. It might all add up to twenty, but I don't know for certain.

I'm slowly reading the book at work. Progress is slow since I usually only get 15 minutes a day. I like this. It gives him a good reason to be Kingslayer. It also gives him prior experience at being Queenlayer.

I could have sworn I responded to this. Guess not.

Anyway, it's extraordinary. Keeps the tone of the series better than the last two books do, while cranking the darkness and fucked up parts of the narrative well intact.
