Iron! you glorious bastard! Now I'll have to count the days till the next chapter gets done. XD

On another note, how much did Fate lose to have her faint like that? Is it enough to send Vivio to mid-childian college for a four-year degree?

Interesting! I never read the original, as it was marked as suspended or on hold or whatever. So the old Reinforce bonded Yuuno? Is he going to get an insane Book of Darkness too, I wonder?

This should cause issues with Hayate. And I totally am for Hayate x Yuuno x Reinforce Ein.

^ How about Unison Hayate x Yuuno

It's a threesome without the third person.

That she did; the details of said bond shall be coming soon. As for an insane BoD... *shifty eyes*

Oh, it most certainly will cause issues. And not all of them are going to be fun and games.

As for the three-way relationship... I've made comments in the Relationship Ideas thread about how those ought to work. You'll have to wait and see whether or not Zwei ends up with a sister named Drei.

I plan on writing out the entire dialogue at some point, so the exact amount may change. However I will be able to tell you that it had more to do with the who and how rather than the monetary value.

...She did end up owing a sizable sum though. XD

A Yandere Eins... That would be most interesting. Terrifying and world ending, but interesting.

It was not. XD

Didn't Reinforce crawl out of the computer with wet hair all over her face or something? XD

Much to everyone's amusement, that had been one of the events which had led to himself and Hayate deciding to start dating. There were more than a few other events and comments to add to that but nothing of the earth shattering variety. And unfortunately for the more romantically inclined, there was no great declaration beneath the stars or fireworks celebrating the change in the the status quo; just a pepper shaker and a joke.

Hayate, Nanoha, Fate, and himself had been eating lunch together after he'd just finished a lecture at Vivio's academy. Nanoha had made a joking comment about how he and Hayate seemed like an old married couple after Hayate had handed him the pepper before he'd even had a chance to ask for it. Apparently her parents had this odd sort of synchronicity at times where one would know what the other needed or wanted without having to verbalize it. Yuuno couldn't quite recall seeing such a thing in the Takamachi's, but it wasn't the sort of thing he had paid special attention to or had thought particularly deeply on.

They'd all had a good chuckle until he took a moment to actually think about it. Not even a minute after the laughter had died down, he had asked Hayate out and she'd accepted with a smile and a laugh. Had it not been for Fate fainting out of shock, they might have gone right back to their food. Of course, Nanoha's laughter and declaration she had won the betting pool didn't help the situation.

The fact there had been a betting pool had had raised a few questions, but they spent most of their time trying to revive poor Fate. While she was happy to see them when she came around, the blonde woman was less than happy about the money she'd lost.
What if this scene were deferred until later, when Yuuno (and/or Hayate) are informing Reinforce about how they got together?

Then you can either present the scene in the form of a flashback, or have one character relating the experience with Reinforce providing dialogue in the form of clarifying questions or interjected opinions.

It might be a matter of personal style, but I think characters actually talking and interacting with each other in "real time" might be more engaging than a Narrator's Info-Dump.

I had considered writing out the entire scene right there or relegating it to an extra later on. I chose not to do the former because of time constraints and it didn't really seem to fit the chapter's mood. And the latter has simply yet to happen.

If you think it would be better to be removed in it's entirety and set up for later or reworked into a proper scene for this chapter, I'm all ears. All of these chapters are Alpha. They've not been Beta'd in the slightest. And I am not above reposting and re-linking.

And I do agree, talking and engaging in conversation is a lot better than infodump. I'm stuck with trying to not let this thing flounder and finding the time to actually sit and write these interactions. So right now... conversation ends up taking a hit. Writing out a good, detailed conversation is something I need a large block of uninterrupted time to do. Said time is something I rarely get due to many reasons... T_T

This sounds interesting, actually. How about interspecting small flashbacks with whoever it is that's explaining? Not to mention, just one scene like that won't show much. Having multiple scenes provide a much better context, me think.

Like say, Yuuno handing Hayate whatever report she needs without her asking, or Hayate finishing Yuuno's sentence in her own way.

You bring up an excellent point. I shall keep it close to heart while I work on fixing up chapter 2 and outlining chapter 3.

Said outline is nearly complete. >=3

*Waves* Hey, Iron! Great fic so far. A little surreal when Reinforce reappeared, but pretty good. :)

Can't wait for more.

Well, I'd definitely rather have something than nothing. So even if it could be better, it's not bad.

Certainly, the best thing would be if the courtship itself were covered in a prequel story that this story would follow after, thus needing neither infodumps or flashbacks, but I understand your constraints.

Thanks for doing the best you can!

I'm also interested in the courtship itself because how does a guy like Yuuno court a girl like Hayate.

He's likely to end up being the one courted.

Not showing the courtship is a common problem with nonstandard pairings--I know on AS there was a huge debate about it, particularly concerning the Vivio/Lutecia pairing in RadiantBeam's Shadowsverse stories, as the courtship has yet to be shown.

I think it has to do with it requiring a really well-written and detailed account that might as well be a story in and of itself. When the non-standard relationship isn't really the focus of the story... it becomes a rather daunting task to include it properly and could threaten to overwhelm the rest of the work.

A prequel might do it best. But I have an idea that might work towards showing it in-story. It will be... painful and unpleasant for Yuuno; but he's dating Hayate, so he can handle a little author-ire.

And thanks for your support everyone. =)

Yuuno: "Author-ire? Look, friend, Hayate made me dress in drag as some girl named Tomoe Mami. I've paid my dues."

I thought Vivio got this treatment.., unless part of Hayate's courtship challenge was to dress like Mami, among other things.

If this was the case, Yuuno would probably get his payback by ribbon bondage!

Sorry Yuuno, but that was Vivio. However there is the Laharl angle... Hmm... Ideas...

Oh yeah, that happened in *this* story.

Really, same voice actor for Laharl?

With hair dye and contacts, Yuuno might have pulled that off as a kid. Then again, it's not hard for kids to be short and stringy. And Yuuno might have had the modest amount of muscular definition Laharl seemed to boast.

Unless wikipedia has lied to me, then it is very much the same VA. And I imagine Hayate would have done this when they were all kids. Horribly embarrassing, but he was not the only one to suffer.

And now that I've gone and seen Thor... Well, there are ideas. *sets to writing*

I miss that old idea of "Yuuno is Loki, and Hayate is Sigyn"...
