Well since the Lemon area requires Hawk's approval and his PM box is full I think we should post our requests for access here for the time being. Credit to Halibel Lecter for the idea.

Please let me know if this should be moved, since there is no general chat/misc. forum, I figured that this would be the best place to put this thread.

- And I heard but do not know for a fact a few were emailing them...
- Even heard a couple were attempting to get him by way of chat...

I think you intimidate some people too much... You come off as opinionated... some may take that for right or wrong as not being the best for a mod position.

Also... it takes a while for a forum to build momentum...

I know when I joined here there was not even 600 members... now, there are over 8148 (in actuality, over 8300, but 8148 is what is listed as valid members).

Yours... had you not personally invited me... I probably would have held off at least a bit.

An additional item... While I've not issue with it, many would be turned off to the negative views of Harry Potter and Naruto. Personally, I'm all for it, since I'd rather not be bothered with either. But you cannot overlook they are huge fandoms.

I merely refuse to waste space on either because they are popular enough as they are, and I'd rather have people focus on fandoms OTHER than the ones with a zillion and 314 fics already.

Naruto and Harry Potter already have their own goddamn dedicated forums - even TFF has pretty much become TNFF - The Naruto Fanfiction Forum. You can't even deny it, it's true - for every 10 new topics, 9 are Naruto, and the other fandoms are literally drowned out in the flood.

My forum gives those fandoms a chance. If all someone wants is to be a Narutard and nothing else, then yeah, TFF of any other of OVER 9000 different forums will work fine.

If, on the other hand, one wants to write, read, suggest or discuss fandoms OTHER than fakeninja wearing entirely non-ninja-like colors, they are welcome to my forum.

I won't prevent people from discussing Naruto on my forum, but I'm not going to encourage it in the slightest, and I certainly am not going to make an entire section for it, only to see it flood the forum to the detriment of everything else. If my decision to focus my forum on fandoms that DON'T have 100,000+ fics already angers you, I'm sorry. But I'm not going back on that decision. :huh.:

It's not the lack of members I have issues with, it's the lack of posts. I find it ludicrous that people apparently can't have ideas beyond 'lol, let's make a Naruto and/or HP fic!!!!'. Of all the actual content on the site, most of it is from Lord Raa, the rest is mostly yosei's Claymore fic and a couple fics by others.

Pretty much FOUR MEMBERS cover it. And one of those fics has Naruto in it.

Where the hell did originality go? Before Orange Wannabe came along, people actually had diverse ideas and suggested fics for various fandoms. Then, everything started to be about a blonde dumbass who pretends to be a ninja while shouting loudly, wearing bright orange and charging headfirst into every fight, and every last shred of originality and uncommon fandoms was swallowed up by the Orange Dumb Tide.

Not even the abundance of Ranma crossovers was this virulent, and Ranma was at least somewhat competent as a character. I get the impression people like Naruto only because he's a bigger loser than they are. -_-

Yes, the one thing that pisses me off the most about Naruto is that such a mediocre series drowns out much better thought out ones through sheer kiddie-dumb popularity (because face it, kiddies make up 99% of the support that keeps Naruto afloat).

I am not expecting my forum to get 8000+ members, but it'd be nice if some of the 140+ members I DO have started proposing something that doesn't have 'Lord Raa' attached to it and doesn't have anything to do with a fandom that doesn't NEED any more fics added to it.

Ummm... As was pointed out... I meant no disrespect... had I thought it would cause issue... I would have posted nothing.

In fact, as I specifically stated, I personally don't care for either of those... so it does not bother me that is your opinion as well. And I won't force any mod to put a section up that they don't want.

As for contributions... Well... I don't write, but I do have 68 posts there, some on commentary on the stories...

EDIT: I've even pointed out in my partial updates any stories of note in preview there. Though due to rules limitations, the lemon ones I cannot note here, fukufics, your own forum, or for Ranma lemons only, I can't note it on Alpha Zulu's LJ.

...What's the matter with those? They're not too long, and they're easier to digest than a multichapter fic. Plus, you can try out different genres without worrying about wasting your time on however many installments of something you don't like that much...

Trust me it takes a while to get a community going as my first board was a writing board named BZ Fanfiction Studio that opened up a few months before this one did and only got around 2 to 3 hundred or so members and sixty thousand some odd posts in two years though my newest board got that far in only six months but that one is general chat.

These things take time to build up but it will happen if you don't give up on it too easily.

Hawk not being here and having to rely on him for lemon access wasn't wise. He really should have at least another admin around just to do this sort of stuff but he doesn't want any other staff outside of himself which is never good since he always seems really busy.

Actually, anime fanfiction was once comprised of the following categories: Ranma, DBZ, Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing slash, and everything else.

Naruto just got added to that. And it's not so much that it replaced the others as it is that most of the good ideas for the first three have already been done, the fourth is and was a virulent pit of horror, and "everything else" has to deal with the relative size of its fandom (or more precisely lack thereof).

Actually, if one goes strictly by FanFiction.NET's story count, we end up with the following as the biggest anime categories:
- Naruto 182517
- Inuyasha 85255
- Yu-Gi-Oh 46936
- Gundam Wing/AC 39596
- Digimon 31160
- Dragon Ball Z 30158
- Sailor Moon 28624
- Fullmetal Alchemist 25722
- Bleach 23921
- Card Captor Sakura 22355

The list shuffles slightly, once Sailor Moon crossover categories, and Harry Potter are added (never mind HP is not anime, most people seem to throw it in as such), and the Dragon Ball (non Z) stories are added.

For most read fandoms I personally bother with, that falls to:
- Ranma Crossovers (I count them separate)
- Ranma
- Neon Genesis Evangelion
- Tenchi
- Love Hina
- Full Metal Panic
- El Hazard

Of those, the most dedicated and organized were Ranma and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Also of those:
- Ranma is slowed to a crawl compared to what it was
- Neon Genesis is beginning to die, even with some good stories still apprearing/updating, but some sites even shutting down (Evafics)
- Tenchi has been fairly close to dead for a few years
- Love Hina has slowed, and being propped by several good writers (Rx7/Random1377, and Lord Raa among them)
- Full Metal Panic has both its primary authors working at a small percentage of what they once were, and the rest being a mix, with only a few here and there
- El Hazard dead for a long time

As for the post issue itself, there are not as many members. I've already stated my own position as regards to that forum, I don't write, but I post there.
