So, I subscribed to this new game called Duels:

http://www.duels.com/

Sooo... it's fun. You don't have to spend mass amounts of time on it. You log in whenever and kick shit dead whenever.

If you sign up, here's my referral:

http://www.duels.com/users/register/leanhaum

Please, do take time to refer me when you sign up. I might be able to create a TFF guild if enough peeps do it.

Well, I signed up as Lemures.

Might as well see how good this game is.

Signed on as Geryon.

EDIT: Just realized, Geryon is bigger than GH at level 15. :p

... so, has anybody started playing? I'm stuck at the "Weaponsmith's Favor" quest - I can't figure out how to find the Hungry Bat, let alone kill it.

There's a link in the quest text, look for the underlined text and click it.

I'll go check again, but I never saw one at that step.

EDIT: Nothing. Every other quest has a link like that, but not the "Weaponsmith's Favor". No link, nothing.

EDIT 2: Anyone interested in getting allies? Please add me, and I'll do the same (when you let me know).

EDIT 3: I think I found it: http://www.duels.com/hungry_bat.

Joined as Azazyel.

Btw, is it just me, or is Path of the Sword generally a lot better than Path of the Staff? Double hits with weapons of similar power (i.e. you could go a 101 sword in one hand and a 40 sword in the other, whereas at a similar level a staff guy could go a 101 staff and a 24 wand), more damage overall, especially if you level strenght, and obscene toughness, compared to a not-so-good dual wield (wands are generally less powerful and can be resisted) and less toughness for a mage. I realize dodging (through Shimmer) and Staff Mastery are suppose to even things, but even then the benefits just don't stack up well against a pure toughness guy.

It seems that a lot of the NPCs in the Arena have a higher percentage of Wins to Losses, if they are Path of the Sword rather than the of the Staff.

Not just you and that is why the people that have Path of the Sword out number people that are Path of the Staff by so much.

And I went for a more even character. Though that might have been a mistake considering the amount of times that I get beaten up. :p

Also while the wands can be resisted the weapons can be dodged. And the combo of Magus Blood, Staff focus, and Mind Amplification are a bitch to overcome. And that is without counting the High Paths.

Damn Gremlins. <_<

Woo! Level 7! Now I can actually wear pants!

EDIT: I went back through this thread for all known TFFers in the game so far, and I messaged all you ('cept GH) asking "Please add me as an ally!"

Nope, no. Path of the Staff really sucks.

Or rather, no, it doesn't suck, it's just a lot weaker at lower levels than Sword. At higher lvls its a lot better. The problem is getting there, especially if you get stuck in a quest: at lvl. 10, most skirmishes even with players with higher levels than you only yield around 2-20 experience, even when you win! Wtf...

Thank god for the "Skip to end" option in the lower left corner...

Ugh... any idea how to sell/get rid of your pet? I want a new one and the game doesn't auto-remove your old one when you try to buy a higher lvl. pet.

Go to the "Items" link on the left.

That's how you sell any item, really.

The Pet system is really screwed up.

For example, the first Wolf, costs several hundred gold and requires level 5.

It adds +1 Speed

The first Deer costs 4 gold, requires level 1, and gives +2 Speed.

Eh, that's it, I'm starting over. *deletes char*

Fucked my build from the start. Over 4 points on Shimmer, which turned out to be a shit skill. Too many points on Perception and very few on Intel. Bad weapon choices. Hell, I don't even like how the char *looks*.

I'm getting a chick, this time. Looking at a half-naked guy while I play is just demoralizing.

EDIT: Some of the "undergarments" for female chars look almost like full armor. Wtf?
