The real question is; what talentless eyecandy will he choose for April O'neil and will she be some college student who's only in the journalism club?

Michael Bay. Because every movie needs a shoddy love 'story' tacked onto it that gets more screen time than the actual plot and important characters. Even if giant mechanical aliens are invading and people are dying in droves, there is time for a slow motion camera pan highlighting someone's T&A.

You know...I played the video games, watched the movies, the cartoons and read the comic books. I even remember that April was a black woman. This is NOT "Teenaged Alien Ninja Turtles'. Does anybody see an A in 'TMNT' anywhere in its acronym?

Note, kids: this is what happens when you try to apply logic to fictional characters and their settings.

As for an April O'Neil love story, you kind of missed all the stuff from the original movies with Casey Jones, didn't you?

...Great, now I'm getting an image of TMNT but like Transformers -_- Shia lebaeff will end up being casey jones who wants to be a normal kid until 4 aliens crash land into his backyard ; one of which will be mute (probably michelangelo), who are fighting against the evil shredder-tron and then casey will end up meeting april o'neil somehow in the story and ensue teen romance -_-
