I went and saw it last night.

In an theatre full of 22-27 year olds. NO KIDS.

It was awesome. Optimus got an ovation the first time we saw him. Fight scenes were fucking awesome. Animation was just unreal and meshed so well. The humor was well done and the references to the original series were great.

Fuck what anyone says, its awesome if you were a fan of the cartoons.

The folks in the crowed gave it a standing ovation at the end. Was worth seeing, and the DVD/Blu-ray will so be mine when it releases.
My review of the movie.

It sucked balls. Two stars out of five.

In response to your review:

1) Dinobots will be in next movie most likely. You can't expect them to put everything from the old cartoon in one movie.

2)Bumblebee. You have to realize that its been over 20 years since G1. There has to be some changes made. Such as changing Bumblebee into a more popular car.

3) Starscream. Once again, its been over 20 years. F16s aren't used. F-22's are, so a switch so Starscream can blend in, much like Prime isn't a cab over semi anymore because they're barely used. They were also going with a more realistic transformation, so he probably isn't going to look the same.

4) That wasn't Soundwave. That was frenzy, who was one of Soundwave's cassettes in G1. As with Dinobots, Soundwave may very possibly be in the next movie.

5)The Allspark cube. Its a plot device. Get over it.

It isn't G1. Get that through your head. Its also live-action. Things can't be as unrealistic as a cartoon.

As a movie on its own, I liked it and I personally loved the old G1 cartoon. You're welcome to have your own opinion, but you should try to think of things logically.

Paulo, as was mentioned in another thread, apparently Michael Bay wanted to make Bumblebee a Beetle but VW said no.:blue:

terrible sub plot that went nowhere

a lot of the characters were never fully established...
introduced but sort of rather one dimensional...

but the fight scenes made up for it.
...coulda used more optimus prime kicking ass though

Thoughts on the All Spark:
chances are that's it's the plot device they'll use for turning Megatron into Galvatron, however, I thought it'd be amusing if they explained it's existance as an item Unicron created so that he'd never truly go hungry, like an advanced version of plant 10 trees for every 1 you chop down. It'd at least ensure that he never went hungry after all.

My only gripe about the subject of the cube is that the idea is unfinished, unless they specifically put the Cube's reduced size in there to give them (the directors) a reason to turn Megatron into a Gun in the sequal it's a hypocritical approach to the All Spark (saying it's okay for the object to break the rules of physics and not the Transformers). The supposed "Radiation" it puts off is a rather trite and crappy approach to the subject as well.

Anyways, in the scene where Sam fell off the edge of the building it would have been different, if he had fallen on the groud on top of the A. S. and it proceded to fuse with him and he proceeded to lay the smackdown on Megatron, though that's obviously too much to ask for since:
Optimus M. II>Rodimus>Galvatron>Optimus>Megatron

Starscream and the other Decepticon jets were F15 Eagles.

Note they had a twin tail and thrust design , an F 16 has a single tail and thrust design.

It was nice to see the original form of Bumblebee next to the Movie version in the carsale lot.

However, what Autobots or Decepticons do you think should be in the next Movie if they decide to make one?

My opinion is either:

Autobots
Kup & Hot Rod
or
Springer & RC

Decepticons
Soundwave
Thrust
and maybe PredaKing

Comments?
Odds of the Post-movie G3 transformers like Kup & Hot rod are pretty close to nil.

They were introduced in the first animated movie, but given the more wellknown transformers from G1 & 2 that the directors can choose from I seriously doubt we'll see the newer ones any time soon.

More likely candidates:

Dinobots
Constructicons
Insecticons
Soundwave w/ Laserbeak and Ravage
Hound
Mirage
Blaster
Sunstreak & Sideswipe (if only because their car modes would be total eyecandy on screen)
Stunticons
Omega Supreme
Arielbots
Combaticons
Blitzwing
Astrotrain
Wheeljack
Skywarp
Thundercracker

I only hope the next movie will be more transformers & less humans

I dunno they might have hotrod come if only to have a reason to have rodimus appear...dpeneds on who the people writing the sequel wants to appear

I simply think it'd make more sense to have Kup + Hot Rod join at the same time, Kup being the "old vet." and HR being the "young hot shot mechanic/soldier", though it was kind of annoying to see them use Kup's scene in the new movie.

Sorry, i should clarify, in the cartoon movie Blitzwing in Tank Form was aiming at Hot Rod; Kup seeing this drives up to Blitzwing transforms midway and physically changes the direction of the shot by moving Blitzwings Barrel enough for an Insecticon to get shot instead.

when i said new movie, i was referring to the one that recently came out (they're both named "Transformers: The Movie" so it's kinda hard for me to come up with a simple way of referring to it) while the scene isn't exactly the same it's still similar enough for you to notice.

Kinda yeah

On May 30, 2007, Dreamworks greenlit two sequels to Transformers,[107] and Shia LaBeouf,[108] Megan Fox[109] and Peter Cullen[44] signed on to return. Producer Tom DeSanto has envisioned a storyline introducing the Dinobots, Constructicons, and Soundwave.[19] Writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman may not return, as "Star Trek... is taking up [most] of our time."[30] Michael Bay has not signed on, "trying to keep some leverage for the negotiations",[44] but already has ideas, including an aircraft carrier character.[110] The producers expect that with a bigger budget and the special effects worked out, the Transformers will have a larger role.[111]
YAY!!!!! :)

also for those of you who have yet to see the movie

Tv Links

Go to the movie section. And watch it. It is one of the best Bootlegged that I've seen in a long while

I just saw the movie last night, finally... here's my thoughts.

First off, I'm surprised at some of the confusion that people had about the Allspark.

It's ALWAYS been a part of the transformers history... it's always been the thing that brings life to new robots. All objects, like the Matrix of Leadership and the Creation Matrix (and Vector Sigma, and the like), are all connected to it somehow.

http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/All_Spa...park_.28cube.29

Second... the movie fighting was done so perfectly, it was amazing.

Not just how the fights looked... but how they ended up.

First off, there was where Prime intercepted BoneCrusher on the highway. Didja notice how quickly he killed him? If Optimus had been present for the early parts of the next fight scene, they would have ended too fast, as Optimus would have taken them all out too quick.

If you want references to the varying power levels/fighting abilities of Optimus vs. Decepticons, go watch the original Movie, and see the scene where Prime arrives at Autobot city.

Not only was he taking constant direct hits from three different decepticons, which he just ignored, he was taking them out left and right.

So Prime couldn't be there when Devastator (the name they used for the Tank in the movie... I don't know WHY they didn't use Blitzwing, the triple changer who has a tank as one of his forms... but they used Devestator, with an alternate name of Brawl, which actually makes some sense, but is still an odd choice seeing as he's one of the Combaticons) arrived... he had to be occupied so he couldn't kill them.

Also, while Ironhide and Jazz could hold off Devestator, the second Starscream showed up, it was game over, and they got overwhelmed rather fast. Because Starscream is also way high up in the power order, which is probably one of the reasons people are so quick to forgive him when he backstabs them. Starscream also had to be given reason why he wasn't constantly in the fight, which is why he had to deal with all the jets showing up. Which was one hell of an awesome scene, the short dog fight between him and the jets.

Then Megatron showed up, and it was essentially game over. They gave him a pretty accurate power scaling of his fusion cannon, which temporarily took Prime out with one hit. This was also the time that Prime could show back up, without fear of overpowering all the other enemies.

It was perfectly done, even if they had to make up some enemies, like Barricade and Frenzy (Barricade for some reason was given Jazz's body, and Frenzy was just flat out made up, when they could have used something cool like Rumble, Lazerbeak, or Ravage), some of the Robots didn't make sense (Why didn't they make Jazz into his normal police car? Why was Scorponok a midget scorpion? Why give Brawl the nickname 'Devestator', when that will only confuse people?), and a few other problems.

It was so kickass, though... so kickass.

In regards to the robots who might show up... well, if he wants to go big scale, Bay will bring in the rest of the Combaticons (Brawl is already there), to have Bruticus form. Devestator could work, as Bonecrusher is already there too. Soundwave showing up would be awesome, as would Thundercracker or Galvatron. Galvatron is too much of a psycho to not be in there... though he really would need Ratbat to get the REAL psycho feel about him.

The Dinobots would kick ass, though I get the feeling that they would be fucked up somehow, with new ones being created intstead of just using the classic awesome ones. The Arialbots would be unlikely, as like the combaticons, they aren't as familiar (but unlike the combaticons, they don't have a member already there). Kup and Hotrod could show up, though I'd prefer if Hotrod didn't. That would mean theres too much of a chance of Optimus dying if he did, though Kup kicks major ass.

Prowl was one of Optimus' lieutanents, so he could show up. Jazz already died (he was another one of his main officers), so he could be a replacement there. Wheeljack is also wellknown, as is Brawn and Cliffjumper.

I'd personally like to see Ultra Magnus and Blaster show up... Springer and RC and Blur aren't quite as necessary, but seeing as they were all stationed to Autobot City (along with Perceptor), they'd make sense to be in the movie, too.

There are wayy too many options to choose from, frankly. Any and all would be good.

All the Witwickys made sense, though I really wished that they could have worked in the nickname "Spike" somewhere for Sam, seeing as that's all that they Autobots called him, from what I remember. It was odd, though, that Buster (the dad.. Ronald, or whatever they called him) wasn't a mechanic, though.

And the Hoover Dam... man, that brings back cartoon memories :D

Gah...sadly to say, my opinion was at best 3 out of 5 stars, mainly due to the fact that we had too much teenage drama. Nobody gives a damn if you drive a shitty car, some of us rides the frickin' school bus. Live with it. Also, who'd the fuck leave the Secretary of Defense alone with just a Special Ops and two hackers? That just speaks of plain stupidity. Overall, the actions was awesome, but the drama could be done less with. All I could think while I watched the thing was "I'm damn glad I'm out of high school!" If there was more robots screen time, I'd give it a 4/5, but "High School TV Drama" Syndrome was running rampant through the damn thing.
