Movies you'd want to see

I'd settle for a WWII film shot from a sympathetic German perspective. Maybe one about the July 20 Plot....

You mean 'Swing Kids'?

As for my picks

Anime

Ghost in the Shell

This series could easily be translated to live action film. If you wanted you could just have the movie detailing the first few missions of Section 9, in essence showing how the major pulls the team together as they resolve their first few missions. The FuchikomaÆs or Tachikoma (sp?) would serve the dual role of combat transport and comic relief.

Full Metal Panic

IÆd probably set the story in a college instead of a highschool but beyond that IÆd leave it mostly alone. The first story arc, ending with Souske rescuing Kaname from her captors would be a great place for the film to end. I see Orlando Bloom playing the role of Kurze Weber and Melissa Mao by Zhang Ziyi. Not sure about the others though

Appleseed

Again I think the first story arc could easily be turned into a live action movie that would do rather well.

Gundam: The 8th MS Team

Well since we now know that Giant Robots can work on screen (Thank you Transformers) I say itÆs high time we gave the Gundam universe the movie it deserves. Originally I was going to start at the beginning but the 8th MS team is so much gritter and realistic about pilot skill and war tactics than the first series that I think it would fit a movie translation a lot better. I wanter either Spielberg or Cameron directing this film.

Macross

Well if weÆre going to put Gundam on the list I can not forget Macross. I feel a movie running from their ill fated fold jump to their return to earth would fit just about right. Shia Lebeouf can probably handle the role of Rick Hunter.

Books

The Eisenhorn horn series by Dan Abnett

This series is what got me into Warhammer 40K, and the tales of the stalwart Inquisitor Esienhorn would make a great movie or series of movies. IÆm thinking Jude Law as Midas Betancore, Daniel Craig as Gregor Eisenhorn and Ewan McGregor as Cherubael.

Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson
The book was originally written with the intent of being turned into a graphic novel, and I think that itÆs filled with enough unique characters and story to be turned into an excellent movie. I see Dakota Fanning as Y.T. and Darius McCrary or Denzel Washington as Hiro Protagonist.

Nightlife by Rob Thurman

Two brothers who are pursued by Auphs, nightmare versions of the elves that everyone knows and loves. Cal and his brother Niko simply try to stay one step ahead of enemies who terrify the rest of the supernatural community.

Games

Deus Ex

This is still one of my Favorite games of all time. It had a great plot and a wonderful caste of characters plus plenty of twist and surprises through out itÆs complex storyline.

Gods on a stick....if they made 'American Gods' into a movie and DIDN'T fuck it over ten ways from sunday...I'd be the first one camping out at the cinema, and I'd make sure to watch it several times. Big fan of Gaiman's works, and that book is one of my favorites. An animated/live action version of The Sandman would also kick much ass.

I don't read certain labels, I read what I think is GOOD. S'not my fault DC can't keep continuity and Marvel has turned into such a shitfest that I can barely stomach anything of theirs anymore.

Actually Vertigo is a part of DC. DC shoved all of their more mature titles on to Vertigo so that DC would remain family friendly. But even now you can see some Vertigo characters, like Constantine and Dream, pop-up in manstream DC comics.

Bioshock

It would make the best movie ever, though it's pretty damn close already.
