Slayers is also filled with yaoi fics somehow. I fail on every level to see the point of Xellos/Zelgadis. Is it really too much to ask to get a good non-romance oriented Slayers fic?

My brother has some Slayers books (I can't remember if they're manga or novels), so it's not entirely outside the realm of possibility that I might try something a) sordid, /b/ allegedly funny or c) blood-filled.


On the subject of Gundam Wing fics, there is one that I found that didn't have any yaoi in....


Though it did have some rather gruesome deaths.

As for yaoi gundam fics, well, perhaps if you search the old stuff you'd find some stuff worth reading...then again, I guess you've perhaps gone through all the old stuff. I've never read any fanfics outside the Love Hina, Mahou Sensei Negima, or Evangelion fandoms so I wouldn't know.

Good point. It's Kono/Setsu up the whazoo. Perhaps it's just that the other characters haven't been covered in depth yet. Well, you can argue that Yue's just as well fleshed out as Nodoka, but I can hardly imagine a Negi/Yue...wait...it's coming to me. Apparently Eva/Negi has become somewhat popular too.

There's been a huge influx of newbies to the Negima section of FF.net too. It's becoming so difficult to actually find a fic worth reading these days. I don't blame the newbies, but seeing the same idea get used again and again is just frustrating.

As for Evangelion, it seems like it's Rei/Shinji as far as the eye can see, with your occasional Shinji/Asuka and Shinji/Misato, and very rarely Kaji/Misato.

And off course, the recent Shinji/Kaoru.......

I guess the internet is just crawling with yaoi fans, or, as DKG puts it, yaoi jihadists. It's amazing how even the best action fandoms can get converted into yaoi nests. I mean, seriously, gundam is all about mecha (PS: MECHAS ROCK!) and why would anyone in their right mind write a fic about anything else other than said mechas. There's no point in a gundam fic that isn't gundam-centric. Off course, that's just my opinion on the matter.

While there ia some truth to that, it is not necessarily that all sections are crawling with yaoi. While many are, it mostly depends on the number of male or female characters. Something like gundam wing, where almost all important characters are male, leads to lots of yaoi. Something that has mostly girl leads, shows like sailor moon or other girl powery series, you would find lots of yuri.

Harem series remain relatively even from what I have seen, no large amount of yaoi or yuri.

People like GH, F1, Hawk, Raa, etc... all could be considered veterans mostly because:

Kaji/Misato = Boring.

Shinji/Misato = hot.

You know, for some reason, I find that kinda funny. Reason being that Gendo/Ritsuko is one of the few canon pairings, albeit a one-sided love.

Well, I've seen quite a few fics that are Kaji/Misato. Granted, they were together in the background of say, a Rei/Shinji or a Asuka/Shinji fic, but still...

And I personally prefer Rei/Shinji. But for the 'not so common', Misato/Shinji all the way. ^_^ And Ritsuko/Shinji? Besides a spam fic, making one believable is kind of hard (I think Random ran into this problem with one of his fics. Granted, the way it started pretty much doomed it in terms of having a relationship, but still...).

As for Shinji/Lilith... hey. I've seen him paired up with Touji's sister. Shinji/Lilith... chances are, it has already been done. :unsure!: And let's not forget the Eva on Eva action! :headbanger:
