Nanoha Innocent Manga

Prodigy or gamebreaker?

It's a video game. Avatars ought to have some semblence of competitive balance.

That TSABmook-looking guy that Fate destroyed, for example. Do you think HE can do anything half as awesome as PLOW THROUGH BUILDINGS with trivial ease? Without being slowed down so much that "going AROUND the buildings" would actually be faster.

Maybe Vita could hit things that hard, but Nanoha can also shoot from great distances. What can Vita do?

Learn how to corner and pursuit targets?

Closing the distance is a key strategy against long shooter types like Nanoha, Signum, Fate and Vivio knew that and exploited said weakness like there's no tomorrow xDU

Leveling up your characters is all well and good, but when dodging is based around skill instead of stat points then the ability to quickly develop those skills can give an advantage to inexperienced players.

Umm... aren't we kinda forgetting that to do that she needed to use a Skill Card? Sure it makes her invulnerable but I bet it works only for a short time and has quite a cooldown so I wouldn't exactly call her OMG HAX!

Ironic because that more or less has been the reaction of most characters withnessing Nanoha's power xD

Vita specially went "OMG! How could she so damn powerfull if she's a newbie?"

That and the mention her White Mage costume seems to be a "super rare" kind of item or something.

She's the protagonist, she's bound to be a genius....

And this is where her supposed training comes up. Being the protagonist = Being Special aside, from what I read Nanoha is being trained by her family so unlike majority of the other characters she actually has some combat experience and training.

Vita on the other hand is just a normal kid who is strong but she is just a child.

One more thing, Vita easily survived Nanoha's blast during their first fight so she probably has defence skill like the one Nanoha got.

On a coming chapter Stern easily blasts trough Vita's best defenses and curbstomps her so i wouldn't count too much on Vita's defenses being "good" xDU

Well I meant it more as a Skill Card allowing her to summon Panzerhindernis or something... well never mind... and can't wait for the next one. Stern Yay!

You think the OTHER guy didn't have Skill Cards?

It's a game. You know what happens when you randomly assign some people better avatars than other people?

People quit, or never bother trying.

Except so far the only thing we have seen was Nanoha blasting through a building and that's all. We haven't seen the impact of her Protection ability on an actual fight AND there is the little bit that this is a STORY not a game.

Not really, I mean what kind of decent female police officer wears a mini skirt?

Kyrie just looks more porn star-ish.

That said, they're cowgirls, not modern cops, so I imagine such dress codes can be a little less strict.

Suzuka.

In Nanya's BTF story, she punched someone through a car. Innocent has a lot of elements that Nanya got his hands on way before Tsuzuki ever did.
AGGHHH... Did Nanya take ALL the cool things T_T Even though I didn't read his story I already feel like I'm plagiarizing it...
A lot of people from asuki's OC thread felt this while StrikerS was airing. Many ideas we'd be writing down would feature in some way in the series as it went ton. We used to joke that Seven Arcs was spying on our forum.

Some things to note from the Innocent manga just in the first 3 chapters.

1: Dearche is apparently a master chef
This is canon, actually. When Dearche copied all of Hayate's skills in the PSP timeline, she really copied all of her skills. Including her cooking. She comments this "turned out to he surprisingly convenient" in one of the sound stages.

Nanya said:
4: Vita's a LOT more cheerful in the Innocent manga
She's a bonafide true child here. Plus not lifetime of battles to sour her personality.

Nanya said:
10: Arisa has fire powers and they tend to be blue at times (I did this first, Tsuki! XP)
No, no you didn't. :p Burning Arisa was fanon long before you started writing.

Nanya said:
11: Suzuka has ice defensive powers
Also uses Jail's glove-thingy as her device.

Nanya said:
12: Kyrie and Amitie's father is still alive. Haven't seen Clyde, Chrono or Yuuno yet. There has been card art for Yuuno and Chrono and we've seen Linith both as a cat and as a person (two different people), so, they just haven't been introduced yet is all, I think.
It should be noted that cards from the mobile game in no way define what will be appearing in the manga. So don't get your hopes up.

I'm painfully reminded of that old line "Humanity already invented everything there was to be invented". I guess it's impossible to create something 100% original.

[grins] And Hayate tried to give her even more recipes when Materials visited Mid-Childa XD

It's a story about a game that ought to be balanced like a game.

Whoo! Hey, Keroko! Glad you're here!

And, yes, I know Burning Arisa was already around in fanon, but it was red fire, I made it blue fire. :p

And, Andarion, you should know that there's nothing truly original out there. It's how you present the story and the elements that matter.

Heck, you should also know that every legendary Hero's story draws upon elements from the Epic of Gilgamesh and each other all the time (and you call yourself a Nasu fan).

We haven't invented teleporters, actual faster-than-light vessels, or flying cars... yet.

Well, Dearche did accept them, reluctantly.

Yeah and so far Nanoha didn't really do anything gamebreaking with that Card of hers. In WoW Paladins and other classes have spells that give you short-term immunity to attacks but no one claims it's gamebraking XD

So far we have only seen Nanoha blast through a building, something other character could probably do if they wanted to. Fate and Levi simply opted to focus on Speed rather than smashing through opposition.

It's what you DO with a given ability that counts. As I said, that skill card gives her invincibility for a short period and probably has cooldown.

Besides it's based on one of her StrikerS abilities where she simply ploughed through Gadget Drones blasting them away if I remember right.

Seriously you are complaining over something that wasn't even USED in an actual fight yet...

Nanya

Very through. It's really hard to find something New nowadays.

Meh I enjoy the story, the background to it much less and I Hate Gilgamesh with the power of a thousand suns XD

Hoki

Actually from what I remember they already teleported some bits of laser or something, flying cars exist, they are just rather impractical and they already theorize on Fold Engines (as in they fold the space around the ship) but they need to deal with power requirements problems first, so we are not that far off ^^

Actually, my experience with every type of game, from trading card games to P2W MMO's, is that people just throw more money at it.

And this game gives you a roulette spin a day for free. Trust me, the gambling part will keep people playing.

And Nanoha having super tough defense is consistent with what we've seen of her in every season. She's a caster, sure, but there's generally two archetypes of casters in video games: Glass cannons that need a meatshield to guard them or keep moving, or casters with super tough defenses that let them shrug of enemy attacks. Hayate's an example of the former, Nanoha's always been the later.

And that makes me wonder, they got the started kit for free, a free spin a day, how the hell are they going to make money from the game? Tournament fees? Booster packs with rare cards? Need to pay for upgrades?

Yes, yes, and yes.

In my experience, collectible games are like crack.

You get the first hit for free or cheap and then the rest is "must have more, must have more" all the time.
