Not really, I mean what kind of decent female police officer wears a mini skirt?
I did say that they are opposites in their dress code. Amitie's not the type to wear that pink cowgirl....

So basically we have three teams now: the T&H crew, the Yagami Family, and the Grantz.

And yes, online games, much like card collectibles, are really expensive hobbies.

And that makes me wonder, they got the started kit for free, a free spin a day, how the hell are they going to make money from the game? Tournament fees? Booster packs with rare cards? Need to pay for upgrades?
Yes, yes, and yes.

In my experience, collectible games are like crack.

You get the first hit for free or cheap and then the rest is "must have more, must have more" all the time.
I'm a former MTG and YGO player, I know the feeling, but I never got anything for free or cheap to meke me start...real life is sad...

And I dunno, knowing how I am right now I would get the free starter set and just wait for the free card a day...stingy and poor people exist.

Another former YGO player here (still have my decks but those are pretty outdated xDU), and yeah it's a very expensive way to play a game, we've got "free" stuff from time to time in exchange of buying magazines, videogames or attending special events (i've got a YGO promo card for attending Comic-Con 2006 IIRC).

Some games do offer free starter kits (i've got a MAGIC Starter deck on AnimeEXPO 2011), obviously those aren't too powerfull or just include a few cool/strong cards filled with lots of average/garbage cards. In that regard Nanoha got extremely lucky as she seems to have gotten a special promo card according to Vita. So far i'm failing to see how Nanoha's beginner's deck is any different from suppossedly top players like Vita or Levi as she seems to be able to perfectly match them in fights and competitions with no problem whatsoever

Unles Nanoha turns out to have Millenium Puzzle's "Mind Shuffle" ability which basically translates into "draw/get whatever card the plot needs to make you win at the moment" xDU

P.S.- I demand to see a Fan Art of Nanoha using "Mind Crush" on someone xD!

Well we haven't really seen anyone use their "trump cards." Vita was taking it easy on Nanoha and the others, using only basic skills. Levi is...well Levi.

There isn't a very serious fight shown between top rankers like Fate, so we don't get to see their most powerful cards yet.

Crashing through buildings fast enough that it is actually faster than flying around buildings requires more than being tough enough to survive the impact. It also means you need to be moving fast enough to punch through without a significant decrease in speed. You have to HIT hard enough?

Can Nanoha fly that fast? Rather than hard-hitting, she's always been hard-shooting.

Seems like the sort of thing that would require being as tough as Nanoha and fast as Fate.

Well, everyone already seems to agree Nanoha is just as strong (if not stronger) as Vita, despite being a rookie player.

As a current Magic: The Gathering player: Yes, yes it does. Seriously, one lousy spin would have me grasp for my wallet to see if I can do better on the second. Or the third. Maybe the fourth.

Vegas got nothing on collectible games.

Only if you ignore the part where Fate had to save Nanoha from being curbstomped by Vita. They only won the race by points because Levi derped on her "ultimate plan."

Not really. The cast gets chucked through buildings on a regular basis, and those chucks don't really go Fate speed.

So I was watching Accel World (thanks to those who recommended it, definitely better than SAO, story wise) and while I was taking something from the fridge, something occurred to me.

The Avatar selection here in Innocent is similar to that of Accel World, although I can't figure out the actual conditions for the avatar selection.

I've played Magic, Yugioh and currently playing Vanguard.

So I understand completely. XP

Like what Levi would say in G.o.D "That's Stern for ya'!"

So team Materials were the beta test champions... likely because of Stern, their MVP.

Once again Levi and her Chi-vis are adorable. Dearche channels Gilgamesh, and Precia is crazy adorable.

You're welcome.

Would you be any more interested in a fusion that puts magicless Nanoha characters into the Accelerated World?

I'd be pleasantly shocked if the manga EVER explains the criteria behind class-and-attribute assignment.

And if it made any sense.

I wonder if Alicia's "Shooter" class is the same as Nanoha's, or somehow distinct from it? If distinct, it's definitely Teana's class.

Is "Sacred" supposed to be a class or an attribute of some kind? If it's a class, does Stern share it?

If "Lord of Glory" is a class, it's Hayate's as well.

And why does Reinforce call Hayate "master"?

This manga already earned some goodwill for me with how Alicia and Fate's quirky relationship seems to acknowledge the disparity of their apparent ages. But if the manga just transplants the Yagami family relations from the original franchise directly into this one without proper explanations, it's going to hurt that goodwill.

Intermission 2 MUST get translated *O*

Yagami-ke centric chapter xD! I usually complain Vita gets too much screentime compared to the other Wolks but this chapter is so goddamn adorable i overlooked that this time xD

Seems to be about some "journal" Vita was writing for school or something o.o

I'm now following Innocent just for the gift of heavens that is VitArisa xD!

I've been telling people to watch this series, but can't remember if I mentioned it here or to you. But it has become my new favorite, displacing Nanoha. It's one of the very few where I am continuing to follow the story in the fan-translated light novels, and making deep efforts to understand how everything works and is connected (and now, despite Reki's ambivalence on the subject, how Accel World might be a sequel to SAO!).

Without spoiling too much, which I don't think I can since it is explained earlty (although expanded upon later)... Avatar selection is based on your traumas and fears. The name, the colors, the abilities... all of it have to do with those "negative" qualities within yourself. I say that with quotes, because it depends on how you view it. Different characters view it slightly differently, and I think all viewpoints have meat to them. There is one character that I feel explains it fairly well, but you might not have met her yet. However, pay attention to Sky Raker when she pops up.

Although it wouldn't surprise me to learn there is some creator input along the line as well, heh. Still, the names do seem to follow set programming... each name is (adjective)(noun), and the adjective generally refers to the color of the linker. The noun tends to tie into their trauma, which gives rise to their abilities.

And apologies for taking this thread off track. I'm not actually following Innocent, so I don't know how avatar selection in Innocent is working.

I thank you for the explanation Kaijo, but I am familiar with how the avatar system of Brain Burst. What I was referring to is the lack of explanation regarding Innocent's avatar selection system. It chooses the game avatar of a player based on set criteria, but those criteria remain unknown (for now I hope). Apparently, Nanoha's avatar type: Sacred, is one of those rare avatar types and only one other shares this with her: Japan's #1 brave duelist Stern Starks, and that's only one kind of rare avatar.

New Chapter is out

Stern Starks, cute, somewhat quiet girl, and exemplary student in normal situations, queen of the brave duel world during game time.

Hayate with Dearche was hilariously funny.

"I love you, my king!"
"I hate you."

And Dearche is like "this falling is annoying"

And...

HA!

MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I win again, Tsuki!

Fire bombardment + barrier jacket = clothing damage!

I did it first, Tsuki!

HA HA HA!

Looks like Tsuzuki really does borrow pages from Nanya's fics.

You should apply for Seven Arcs already.

I am also terribly amused that nobody so much as blinked at the talking wolf in the shop.

There's also Precia, who apparently uses the store's security cameras to monitor her daughters. She gets funnier every time.
